Pacifica woke up to her loud radio alarm, groaning at the thought of having to get out of bed and start her day. She looked in the mirror across from her bed seeing the long blonde mess she had to call her hair. She'd need to take care of that. The teen went to her bathroom to take a shower and get ready when she remembered her plans for today. She smiled at the thought of meeting Mabel and Dipper and Lazy Susan's for breakfast.
She had hung out with them a lot last summer after Dipper helped her family with the age old curse cast upon them. Her parents didn't mind too much, so she spent almost all her free time with them. She had missed them over the school year when they had to go back home. It was really boring without them there and she just about snapped being surrounded by only her rich, fake, paid to be her friends, group constantly.
But now the Pines twins were back and she planned to spend as much time as possible with them. She got out of the shower and got dressed, putting on jeans and a simple hoodie since she knew she wasn't going solely to impress anyone. And if she did want to impress a certain someone, she knew fancy clothing wasn't going to help anyway. Finally she threw her hair up in a messy bun and ran out the door to meet her friends.
Mabel sat across from Dipper, an empty seat next to her for Pacifica, wearing a bright purple sweater with an even brighter yellow sun on it. She smiled widely at her barely younger brother showing her excitement at getting to see their old friend again! He looked at Mabel for a second, smiling at the memory of when the two girls were bitter enemies, then looked down at his journal again.
"Dipper, just this once get your nose out of the stupid journal and at least act like you are interested in our conversations." Mabel said somewhat annoyed at her brother.
"I'll stop when Pacifica gets here okay?" He replied.
"Fine..." She said crossing her arms. A slow smile smile snuck it's way onto her lips. "Man, Dippingsauce I can't wait to see your girlfriend. It's been so long!" She told him.

"Mabel, how many times have I told you she's not my girlfriend?" He asked, closing his eyes trying to keep from getting too annoyed with his sister.
"586, technically 587 now," she answered. "And yes I've counted." How does she keep track of everything? Dipper thought to himself.
"Exactly! So you should know by now that she isn't my girlfriend Mabel." He said trying to fight the blush he could feel trying get it's way onto his cheeks.
Mabel stuck her tongue out at her brother "I still think she likes you back," she said. Dipper seriously regretted telling his sister about his crush on Pacifica now. "Oh look!" Mabel exclaimed. "She's here!"
Dipper watched Pacifica walk through the door as the bell chimed, announcing her arrival. She looked great, simple jeans and her school cheerleading hoodie, he still thought she looked like a princess. She spotted them and Mabel waved her over to sit next to her. Pacifica walked over with a smile as Mabel got up to hug her best friend. Dipper stayed seated and smiled as they exchanged hellos.
Pacifica sat across from Dipper and asked what they had ordered. As Mabel told her about her crazy, colorful, sugar-filled waffle order, using her hands to show how fantastic it would be, Pacifica look over at Dipper smiling at finally getting to see him again. Over the time he was away from Gravity Falls Pacifica had realized she had formed a crush on the male twin. She still wasn't sure if he liked her back but she was sure she would figure it out sooner or later. Soon Mabel had finished her description of what sounded like a very expensive waffle and she asked them how school had been back home. Dipper said that he got straight A's all semester and the rest was rather boring. Mabel said she got straight B's except in Art which she totally "won". Pacifica told about her boring semester filled with good grades and fake friends and how she couldn't wait to start hanging out with the two of them more.
"Man, I missed you guys so much." She said.
Dipper replied, "Yeah, we missed you too." Pacifica's cheeks turned a light pink at the fact that it was Dipper who said it and not Mabel. As Mabel tried to hold back a grin the food came and they started eating. By the time they were finished Mabel had a very colorful mouth and was wondering why Dipper and Pacifica were laughing so hard at her. She excused herself to go to the bathroom to check it out. When she was gone Pacifica turned to Dipper a smile on her face.

"She hasn't changed much," she said.
"No, not really," Dipper replied. "I hope that's a good thing."
"Definitely," she said.
Dipper looked at Pacifica as she sipped her water. She still looked as flawless as last summer and he couldn't help but stare at her. She looked up at him catching his stare.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing, you're just..." Dipper said searching for the right word. "gorgeous," he decided.
"Well thanks Dipper," Pacifica said with a small smile, pink rising to her cheeks.
Mabel came back then, glaring at them, especially Dipper. "How could you?" She asked.
"What?" Dipper and Pacifica said in unison.
*internal squeal* they are so cute Mabel thought. She held back a smile. "How could you just laugh and not tell me I had anything on my face?!" Mabel asked, annoyed.
The two at the table looked over at each other smiling, remembering why Mabel had been gone in the first place.
"Sorry about that," Pacifica said giggling looking over at Mabel now.
"Don't laugh Pacifica, what if my future boyfriend had walked by? He would've been disgusted, he would've left thinking I was some slob and my happily ever after would've been gone because of you two."
Dipper held back a laugh, "Sorry Mabel, won't happen again."
Mabel nodded her head, crossed her arms and sat back down. After a few more minutes of talking Mabel said they should head over to the Mystery Shack to watch a movie instead of staying at the diner. The others agreed and they payed for their food before leaving.
When they got to the Mystery Shack Pacifica smiled. She had come here sometimes over the school year to hang out with Soos and Wendy when she needed a break from her school "friends". When they walked in, Wendy greeted Pacifica with a smile and a hello. She greeted the cashier back and the she and the twins went to the living room to pick out a movie.
They had so many good ones it was hard for her to decide on one to watch. She finally decided on an older one called "That Thing You Do" it was about a "One Hit Wonder" pop/rock band from the 60's. They sat down twin-Pacifica-twin on the couch, so she was smashed between the two. She had gotten used to this though from last summer. She couldn't help but notice that Dipper's hand was touching her own. She took a breath, trying to keep from smiling and pay attention to the movie. Near the end of the movie the couple kissed and Pacifica could feel Dipper's hand slowly reach to hold hers. She held his hand back, trying her best to hide it from Mabel because she knew she would never stop talking about it. She looked over to see a small smile on Dipper's face as he watched the movie.
Soon the movie ended and they let go of each other's hand before Mabel could see. Pacifica said she needed to start heading home. Dipper offered to walk her home but Mabel said she stayed up too late last night and was too tired to go with them. So the two headed out of the shack to go to the mansion.
During the walk there, there were few words exchanged.
When Dipper and Pacifica got to the door at the mansion Pacifica looked down at her feet and said, "So, about earlier, during the movie?"
"Oh," Dipper said scratching the back of his neck nervously. "Yeah, that..."
Pacifica looked up at the flustered boy in front of her and smiled. She had gotten her answer to whether or not he liked her back today. She leaned over and kissed him (don't get too excited here folks) on the cheek. Dipper looked at her, surprise written all over his face.
Pacifica smiled at him again and said to him, "I had fun today, thanks." She turned then and walked through the door leading into her home.
Dipper stood on the steps in front of her house for about 5 minutes until he really realized what happened. He smiled and said to the empty space in front of him, "So did I."

With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading!
