"How long have you been working here?" Lily asked Jennifer as they sat for breakfast one morning.

"Let's see, it'll be ... two years actually this month. Wow, I didn't even realize that." Jennifer said. "Time flies."

"What did you do before this?"

"I worked at the local aquarium working the touch tank."

"That's a pretty big leap."

"You're telling me."

"How did you come by the job?"

"My uncle," Jennifer said, "he's a big business man in the oil industry. Masrani Global deals in oil as well, they had a few connections and Uncle Derek put my name into the mix. Boom, game changer."

"Do your parents like that you're working here?"

"Yeah, they were pretty excited." she said. "What about yours? I bet they were thrilled."

"My father, yeah...my mother not so much."

"What? Why not?"

Lily sat with her tea in her hands. "My mother doesn't believe that paleontology is a real career field."

"Wha- are you serious?"

"Yeah, she can be a bit of cow sometimes. She told me when I went to uni that she wouldn't help me financially if I didn't choose another major. Turns out I didn't need her money."

Jennifer grinned. "Suck on that!"

Lily chuckled. "Yeah," her smile faded, " I did okay on my own for awhile, but when the economy went to shit, I had to move back home. That just gave my mother more ammo."

"Well, forget about her, people know who you are here and that's all that matters." Jennifer said getting up and getting the toast she was making from the toaster.

The two women stared at the burnt toast in her hands.

"Just put some jam on it..." Lily suggested.

Jennifer brought Lily to the Mosasaurus arena that early afternoon. Lily watched the large aquatic carnivore swim around in the underwater observatory.

"She's beautiful." Lily said.

"Yeah, she's a majestic bitch." Jennifer scoffed. Lily pushed her playfully.

"Be nice."

Jennifer stuck her tongue out at her.

"How much water is in there?" Lily asked.

"Three million gallons."

"Must have taken forever to fill it up with buckets."

"Ages....smartass." She pulled on Lily's arm. "Let's get some lunch."

"This is not what I had in mind when I said lunch." Jennifer said as Lily happily ate ice cream. She looked at Jennifer with the spoon in her mouth.

"I didn't say you had to get ice cream."

Jennifer rolled her eyes before she became tense focused on something. Lily waved her hand in her face.

"Jennifer? 'Ello? What the bloody hell are you looking at?" Lily looked across the way to see Lowery standing in line to get a hot dog.

"Oooh I see."

Jennifer snapped out of it looking at her. "See what?" she said becoming suddenly busy with a button on her shirt.

"See what?! You were totally checking out Cruthers, you ham."

"Was not."

"Then you were checking out a hotdog?"

"I..." Jennifer flushed red.

"Cruther's hotdog."

"Lily!" Jennifer slapped her arm hard. Lily squeaked holding onto it but it had caught Lowery's attention who walked over to them with a slight wave.

"Hey Jennifer...Dr. Goodwin-"

"Lily." she corrected.

"Right, Lily. What are you guys doing?"

"Lunch." Jennifer said quickly.

"Mind if I join ya?" he asked. Lily moved over and patted between her and Jennifer. Jennifer glared at her as Lowery sat down.

Lily was called to Mr. Masrani's office. She knocked on the large oak door.

"Come in."

She poked her head in. "You wanted to see me?"

"Ah, yes Lily, come on in!"

She opened the door and walked over.

"How are you finding everything?" he asked walking over.

"Incredible." she said.

"Finding your way around."

"I think I finally got my sense of direction."

"Good, that's exactly what I wanted to hear."

She tilted her head at the man's excitement.

"Are you up to giving your first tour?"

Lily stood before all the families that waited on her word. She hadn't spoken to such a large number of people in a long time.

"Alright, hi.." she began. "I'm Lily, thank you for joining me today." she began rambling on.

The people stared at her blankly.

She stopped herself and cleared her throat. "You guys wanna see some dinosaurs?"

Lily dropped her forehead on the table outside the cafe before her after she left the tour group. It had been a train wreck, she couldn't get any of her wording right and she stammered and babbled.

"Here's your tea Ma'am." one of the workers said placing it before her.

"Thank you." she mumbled.

She felt someone sit beside her after a moment.

"I thought it was just a stereotype that Brits drank tea all the time." Owen's voice rang in her ears. She turned her head slightly before looking back down.

"I can assure it's not. It's a part of our culture." she told him. "Now a stereotype is that we all have bad teeth. A horrible one."

"Well I know that one isn't true. Just look at your pearly whites."

"I'm flattered." she said flatly.

"Oh sounds like someone had a bad day."

"Understatement." she replied.

"What happened?"

"Someone's being nosy." she said lifting her finger and poking him in the nose.

"Humor me, Goodwin."

She sighed lifting her head up and turning to face him.

"I made a complete arse out of myself today on my first tour."

"What? How?"

"I was just all over the place, people must have thought I was a complete pillock."

"Pillock?"

"A moron." she said.

"I think you're being too hard on yourself. It was your first tour."

"And I blew it." She grabbed her tea and sipped it lightly. Owen grinned at her.

"What are you smiling at?"

"Nothing." he shook his head. He arose. "I'm gonna order a cup of joe, want anything?" he asked.

"No thanks."

"Are you sure? I could get you a crumpet." he said teasingly.

She rolled her eyes but grinned. "No, but thank Sir Grady. This cup of tea will suffice" she said playfully sticking out her pinky while taking a dainty sip.

"So you train the raptors?" she said as Owen sat with her.

"Yup."

"And you do this how?"

"Positive reinforcement."

She raised her brow. "What do you use as positive reinforcement for a raptor?" she asked. "Tickles?"

"Rats." he told her. "Lots and lots of rats."

"I think they would enjoy tickles a lot more."

"You want to try and tickle one of these guys? Be my guest. Just don't come crying when they bite your fingers off."

"We don't cry Mr. Grady, we keep calm and carry on."

"Oh really? Is that so?" he said before wiping his mouth.

She shrugged.

"Alright, let's go then." he said jumping up.

"Go where?"

"To the raptor paddock." he said.

"Now hold on just a moment-" Owen ignored her as he pulled her hand dragging her up.
