《Dark Past: Abuse- Anakin & Ahsoka》Chapter 11: Courage

"Who are you?" I whipped around and ignited my green lightsaber.
"Ahsoka." It called soothingly.
"Show yourself!" I shouted fearfully.
No reply.
"I said to show yourself! Did you even hear me?"
"But you know me."
"What?"
A slender female Togruta stepped out of nowhere. I stepped back defensively, but she Force-pushed away my lightsaber. She had lovely long montrals, and a silver band around her forehead. The headtails were a beautifully saturated blue and white, and she wore a simple, dark blue outfit with distinct, lined patterns. Two lightsabers that looked identical to mine dangled from her hips, and she had a confident and calm aura about her.
"Tell me, what troubles your mind?" She asked gently.
She seemed so kind.
"It's Kina." I blurted. "I don't know how to stop her from abusing me. I don't understand why she does what she does either."
"Why don't you tell your Master?" She asked softly. "Is it because you fear Kina? Or is it something else?"
"I guess it's the first." I admitted after a while.
"No." She said firmly. "You fear yourself."
"What do you mean?" I laugh, intrigued. "Why would I be scared of myself?"
"You lie." She growled. "Tell me the real reason. Tell yourself."
I pondered for a few moments before saying. "I suppose it's because I don't think anyone will believe me."
"No." She snarled venomously. "Still, you lie. Tell me want the real reason."
"To be honest, I don't really know." I sat down dejectedly.
"Think." The Togruta prodded. "What makes you, you? What makes you special?"
"Well, I'm brash, but I can also be fearless." I said half-heartedly. "I'm also proud, agile, and fast."

"Well?" She smiled. "Are you going to tell me?"
I sighed. "Yes. I don't tell anyone because I don't want anyone to think I am weak. I'm perfectly capable of fighting. Just because someone hates me doesn't mean I'm incapable. I don't want Anakin to look down at me pitifully."
"There you go, child. That is the answer." She patted my montrals gently and slowly faded into the mist, and I detected the soft wind of the ventilator blowing at me.
"Wait!" I yelled, feeling a sudden wave of desperation wash over me. "What is the answer? Who are you? How did I see you? Where did you come from?"
She turned around briefly. "I am you, Ahsoka. Future you. Why do you think I know you so well?"
"Please don't go yet, I have more questions!" I screamed. She was gone, and I was back at the factory.
Strange.

Rex's POV:
"It's been forever, she should've reported like 30 minutes ago, Oh no oh no oh no please no whatifshediediwouldnotbeabletolivewithmyselfohnoihatethispleasenoidontwanthertobedead-
I groaned. General Skywalker had been in a complete state of panic since Commander Tano went off the grid. To be accurate, it had only been 5 minutes, but he was pacing fretfully in a circle while us clones got dizzy watching him.
"Rex, any signal?" He asked fearfully.
"No." I sighed. I was starting to worry about the bouncy little Togruta, when suddenly, I heard the beep from the commlink.
"Is it her?" General Skywalker whipped around hopefully.
"Sorry General, but it's General Kenobi. With all due respect sir, you should probably set up camp. It's getting dark, and this operation might take longer than anticipated." I said, setting my hand on his shoulder.
"Fine. But keep on the lookout for Ahsoka." He said irritably. I could tell he was getting moody, so I didn't reply. He never got snappy at the 501st, except when he starts to worry about someone close to him.

Just then, much to our relief, I heard the voice of Ahsoka.
"Rex, tell Anakin that I scouted around the vents and found a nice, secluded area near these coordinates." She told me them as I copied them. "They're great for a secret entry. Also, tell him I'll be right back and there's nothing to worry about."
I nodded, smiling. The General's mood lightened immediately when I relayed her message to him. A think plume of dust rose around us, and I spotted a figure on a speeder approach. He spat a few curse words at the sand before vehemently Force-pushing it away.
"Sorry Master, I didn't mean to kick up all of that." She said apologetically.
"It's all good." He sighed in relief. "Let's take a look at your ankle."

In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."
