Midnight whisper"
➳ 。:゚(。ﹷ ‸ ﹷ ✿)
Muichiro's eyebrows lowered down significantly. He felt your sadness as his own, although you hadn't told him why you had arrived home crying and panting.
"[Y/N]?" the tenderness of his voice worsened the pain you felt, the fact that his face showed a hint of concern multiplied that pain by a thousand. His grip on the door tightened, his fingers would probably leave holes on the wood due to the force he didn't realize he was using. "What happened?"
"N-nothing! I'm tired, that's all"
«She looks drained. Did she even eat? Was that bastard so disgusting-looking that she couldn't eat a single bite?»
"Are you hungry?" he asked as you finished taking off your shoes and got into the mist estate.
"No, I... I will just go to sleep"
He sighed, concerned, and watched as you faded deeper into the house.
"Good night" he muttered, his stone-like expression hinting worry. His eyes inevitably made contact with the pinks and oranges that came from the window, signifying that the sun was beginning to set.
『 °*• ❈ •*°』
A chilling breeze brushed against Muichiro's sleepy face. His tired eyes opened ever so slowly, yet even then, it was as if he had gone blind. There wasn't a single ounce of color or light around. The sliding door that faced the garden was half open, enough for the moonlight to caress his dreams and let the breeze cool down his body. Yet, that night, there wasn't a single trace of the lunar body around, nor did the stars bother to show up. His hands clasped the tatami to push himself up enough to sit up, think for a couple seconds looking around the darkness of his room, and finally standing up.

He would look for matches to light a candle, but he forgot where he left them and it would be difficult to find him in the darkness. The energy was frequently gone too, so he couldn't turn the lightbulbs on either.
He shrugged, feeling his way through the hallway with a single hand.
Once he had arrived to the only other room that didn't make echo when he knocks on the door, he knew that it was yours.
Muichiro was used to it. Walking to your room in the middle of the night to check if you were alive, if you were having nightmares, if your breathing was well, if you were getting sick... it was the routine he adored to follow. It put his heart at ease and made him feel warm inside.
He entered the room, careful to not make any noise. He felt his feet make contact with the sheets of your futon, which was his signal to sit next to your sleeping self.
And as if it was determined by God, the mist cleared, the moon shone again, and it let him see your face.
«She looks troubled. Is she having a nightmare again?»
He placed his hand on your forehead, closing his eyes as he thought of positive things, things that would make you happy. It was the kind of thing a woman did for him in his blurry memories; he couldn't remember who it was, but the feeling remained.
He felt a pair of eyes staring at him as he opened his own, meeting them in the process.
"You were awake"
You nodded, slowly. Both of your hands rested joined together over your stomach, the sheet that wrapped you was neatly placed below them. He should've guessed that you were awake, since usually you were a messy sleeper.

"How do you feel?"
You kept quiet. You had spent hours thinking about everything that had happened, the whole situation gave you a head-splitting headache you couldn't bare with anymore.
You closed your eyes again, peacefully, as you let go of a sigh.
"I know that you're a good person. So it hurts me that nobody else knows that, nobody else knows that you deserve all the love this world holds. You're the light that came to my life, like a burning flame that turned into a kind one. And should that flame ever extinguish, I would be left in the cold darkness. But everyone else seems to think that you're cold and emotionless, and it hurts. Why would they think that way of someone as loving as you?"
«She must still be half-asleep.»
Silently, he began caressing your hair. "Is this about how I treated you when we first met? I'm sorry... I wouldn't dare to hurt you now."
You then shook your head and sit up just like he was; teary-eyed, crossing your legs.
"I know! I know you, but everyone else thinks you're heartless, they were insulting you!" you said, genuinely sad about how much those rumors could hurt your master.
Muichiro's cold hand brushed your cheek, a small loving smile grazed his features as his eyes stared at the soft-hearted person in front of him.
"It doesn't matter, the only opinion I care about is yours"
Your cheeks felt hot, yet your eyes showed concern. He was a difficult person to stop loving, since he was the only person that made your heart beat faster and butterflies fly inside of it.
"Waah! My heart is beating too fast..."
Muichiro tilted his head, wondering if you still felt uneasy or angry about the whole thing, or even worse, like the date that he still wished to know the details of.
"I can make you tea to help it calm down"
Shaking your head, you tugged his yukata's sleeve, trying to pull him closer to you. The questioning look on his face made you giggle for a second, but he still came closer and sat right next to you. Swayed by the midnight chilling air and your master's presence, your eyelids began weighting more and you began slipping away into the realm of dreams. Resting your head on his shoulder, mumbling, "Just stay here a little longer"
Muichiro waited a couple minutes until the only sound he could hear was your peaceful breathing; delicately, he laid you back on your futon. He sat down next to you, on the floor, holding your hand, until you fell asleep completely, to ensure a happy dream instead of a nightmare.
"You deserve to be loved, [Y/N]. Wholeheartedly, infinitely, and unconditionally loved."
