《Muichiro Tokito x Reader》Chapter 5 Part 2 of The Train

Y/N's POV
I heard screaming so I decided to get up and check out what was all the ruckus about. I saw that two arms were wrapped around my waist, I turned my head to see Muichiro sound asleep. I lightly chuckled and gently lifted his arms from my waist and got up and checked out the other compartments. I stopped at the door of the Flame Hashira and three lower ranked Demon Slayers' compartment and stood there a bit confused. There was one with a boar mask, one crying for his life and one that was carrying a box. I smelled a demon lurking within the box, but I don't sense that it ate any humans at all yet. Soon the three lower ranked Demon Slayers noticed me and started to head towards me. I was just frozen there as the three looked at me with curiosity. I suddenly felt two arms around my waist and a weight on my head. My gaze went to who was behind me, and it was none other than Muichiro Tokito. My attention went back to the boy carrying the box.
"Isn't there a demon inside the box?" I asked tilting my head like I always do when I'm confused.
"O-oh yes my sister, Nezuko, was turned into a demon by Muzan but she hasn't eaten any humans so don't worry !" the boy said putting his hand behind his neck.
"AHHHH ANOTHER CUTE GIRL !!!" the boy with blond hair said hugging my knees, crying.
I was clearly annoyed, but I kept my calm composure.
"If you want to come back from this mission alive, I suggest you let go of me at once." I said sending him a glare that probably scared the living hell out of him.
" So we haven't been properly introduced ! My name is Tanjiro Kamado, the boy with yellow hair's name is Zenitsu Agatsuma and the one with a boar mask's name is Inosuke Hashibira." Tanjiro said with a smile.

"I see, my name is Y/N Ubuyashiki the Reaper pillar." I said with a straight face.
"W-wait how old are you Y/N?" Tanjiro asked, curious , getting closer to my face.
Suddenly, I see Tanjiro pushed away from me by the black haired boy behind me.
"You're too close to her." he said nonchalantly.
Tanjiro got up groaning in pain, since Muichiro did push him kinda hard.
"Sorry Y/N, I guess I got too excited hehe." Tanjiro said, scratching his nape.
"It's alright Tanjiro." I said holding his shoulder in reassurance.
"So what's your backstory Y/N, I mean like why did you join the Demon Slayer corps?" Tanjiro asked as he sat down on a bench nearby patting the seat next to him.
I made my way next to him, but I felt a tug on my wrist. I saw Muichiro sit down next to Tanjiro and pulled me on his lap. As he secured his arms around my waist so I didn't fall off.
"Umm ok... So I don't remember my past, all I remember was waking up at Otōsan's estate and becoming a Demon Slayer at the age of 11, then becoming a Hashira two weeks after receiving my sword." I said, leaning my back onto Muichiro's chest.
" O-oh I see." Tanjiro said with a look of empathy plastered on his face.
" So what's your backstory like Tanjiro, it's not like I'll remember but that's alright." I asked, turning my head towards Tanjiro.
"Oh when I was 13 when my younger sister left to get some food, but she never came back. Then a few months later, my sister Nezuko was turned into a demon while the rest of my family was slaughtered." Tanjiro said with tears in his eyes threatening to fall.

I felt bad asking him about his backstory, our conversation was interrupted by the conductor asking to stamp our tickets. We all held out our tickets and he stamped them. Once the conductor went back to the front of the train, my eyelids felt heavy and droopy until I finally blacked out...

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic

ALmond
When Max O'Brien receives an almond with a skull painted on it, he initially plays it off as a prank. But, after his wife leaves town, he begins discovering more of the nuts hidden around the house. More disturbing than that is that some unseen intruder is keeping an accurate running count. The more almonds Max finds, the stranger things get. Mysterious noises. Moving objects. Damaged valuables. It's a haunting that grows in power with each success in the involuntary scavenger hunt. As the almonds pile up so do the threats until Max realizes he may just not survive. ____________________________________________________________________________ Author note - This is a short work originally written for Wattpad's Novella Contest (finished second overall). It's a total of 11 chapters and just about 23k words. I'll post a chapter every 2-3 days so it'll wrap up fairly quickly. Anyone in the mood for a quick goofy/creepy read should give it a try. Thanks.
