《With You (A Kamijirou Fanfic)》Chapter 8

(Kyoka's POV)
Denki gave me a smile when he walked into class the next day. For some reason, my heartbeat sped up and I felt excited to see him. Of course, I didn't show it, the last thing I need is rousing up the class, which will give me a good reason to dig a hole and bury myself alive. I put aside the weird feeling and smiled back.
"What's up, Denkichu?" I couldn't help but snicker at the nickname I just made up for him.
Denki shot me a questioning look. "Denkichu?"
I roared with laughter. The look on his face! "You know, Denki? Pikachu? The Pokemon?"
"Oh! That's very creative!" He made a few small Pikachu noises and we laughed and joked around until a loud cough interrupted us.
"Care to share the joke with the class, you lovebirds?" Aizawa asked, earning a few awes and oohs from the class. We immediately clammed up and hid our faces in embarrassment. When did Aizawa walk in?
"Anymore noise and you'll be writing a 3000 word essay on how important it is to not disrupt the class," Aizawa glared at us. He continued, "Anyway, there's a new addition to your class and more work for me. Please make him feel welcome since you'll be spending the rest of your school years with him."
A guy with vivid purple hair walked in and greeted us with a bored voice.
"I'm Shinsou Hitoshi from class C. I'll be in your class from now on so hopefully we can get along in future."
"You can sit behind Todoroki," Aizawa said as Todoroki raised up his hand.
As Shinsou passed me, Denki poked him and shot him a small smile which the Shinou guy returned. The scene I just witnessed made me feel a little uneasy. Who was this guy? Oh right, he was fighting Midoriya in the Sports Festival and also Denki's teammate for the Battle Training last year. There's something a little off...it's like he's giving off a slightly chilly vibe.

The class went on like a blur and I didn't give a crumb of attention.
(Denki's POV)
I'm happy for Shinsou, it's nice to see he finally achieved his dream. I noticed Kyoka was acting a little uncomfortable, like she wanted to strangle something. Oh! She must be going through that ...phase. I blushed and I continued to take my notes .
~~~~~~
The bell rang, signaling lunch.
"Hey, Kyoka! Wanna walk with me to the cafeteria today?" I said as she finished packing up.
"Uh, sure, I guess."
A while later, we were quietly walked side by side to the cafeteria.
"So, what was that? When Shinsou came in?" I finally asked.
She stared at the ground. "I don't know, but I don't think I wanna talk about it."
"Oh, okay. Is it because of, uh, that...y'know what I mean?"
"No, I don't. What do you mean?" She gave me a look of confusion.
I felt my face heat up and I started making weird robotic gestures like Iida's.
"Um, that thing girls always have at a certain time of the month? The one that always gives you cramps and headaches...what is it called again? Periods?"
Kyoka's face turned red. "W-what?"
"I-I can g-get you some Midol if you want! I'll stop by the nurse's and get you a box!" I stuttered in fear of getting stabbed in the eyeballs by her earphone jacks.
She blushed even harder and turned away. "Dumbass! Pervert!" Good job, Denki! She's probably not gonna talk to you for a while, she's mad. Now she's running a mile a minute away from you. You messed up big time.
Feeling angry at myself, I continued to mentally beat myself up as I entered the cafeteria. My eyes automatically began looking for the girl and found her sitting with the girls instead of where we usually sat at. For a moment, our eyes met before she turned away again. Hormones...make girls even more confusing than they already are.
I spotted someone else before I went to join the Bakusquad. Shinsou is sitting alone today? I thought he was friends with Monoma.
"Shinsou, you're sitting alone today?"
"He's kinda mad at me for joining class A," Shinsou said, not looking up.
"Ah, I see. He'll come around eventually," I assured him, a little uncertain. It's Monoma we're talking about. "If he's truly your friend, he'll accept you no matter what you are or where you're from. Anyways, would you like to sit with me today? It's a little chaotic, but..."
Shinsou cracked a smile. "Sure."
The Bakusquad was as chaotic as usual. Bakugou was yelling at a cowering Mineta (who seemed to have tried to hit on Uraraka), all the while clinging onto Uraraka protectively. Kirishima was helping Uraraka to try and calm Mr Explosion Murder. Sero and Mina were being no help at all and were laughing and taking photos.
"Hey, guys! I brought a friend!" I yelled, pulling Shinsou along with me.
Bakugou glared. "Who's the extra? Who even said you can bring extras here, Dunce?"
"Rude. And he's not an extra, Aizawa was introducing him to us at class. He's joining our class from now on. Were you distracted by your girlfriend, again?" I retorted.
Bakugou rolled his eyes. "None ya business."
"Hey, man!" I looked up from my hamburger to face my redheaded best friend. "How're things with you and Jirou?"
"Amazing!" I said out of character, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "I embarrassed her by asking if she was on her period and now I doubt she would even speak to me anymore." I let my head drop onto the table, faceplanting my burger. I lost my appetite, might as well use my food as my pillow.
Kirishima and Mina exchanged looks. "I can talk to Jirou if you want. Get her side of the story and clear your misunderstandings."
"Sure, as long as Kirishima confesses his undying love to you, I'll be fine," I was so tired, I didn't even notice what I had just said.
"W-what?! Kaminari!! We talked about this bro!" Kirishima said, his face the same colour as his hair.
I jolted up when I realized what just happened. "Wait, I didn't mean to say my thoughts out loud! I'm sooo sorry, Kiri!"
This time Mina spoke up. "It's okay, Kami! He'll forgive you." She turned to Kirishima. "Meet me after school, 5 pm, sharp at the dorm entrance. It's a date, and there's no way over my dead body you're saying no."
Kirishima perked up and turned into a deeper shade of red, if that was possible. "You like me back?"
"Yeah, I have... I've had a crush on you for a while now."
Kirishima gave me a grateful look, I understood everything he couldn't say.
"Are you and Jirou-san a thing?" Shinsou asked, looking a little on edge.
"Eh, not really. I do have a crush on her, though. I've already confessed, it all depends on what her answer is. Why'd you ask?"
"Nothing," Shinsou said and continued to eat his ramen.
(Shinsou' POV)
He likes Jirou? I need to stop this. Denki is mine, and only mine.
Jirou Kyoka, I'd watch my back if I were you.
(Jirou's POV)
I decided I should apologize to Denki later when we meet up. He was kind enough to try and help me even though he misunderstood the situation.
The girls were just talking about all the boring stuff like the latest nail polish colour or something like that. I got bored and my eyes started to subconsciously look for my electric blond friend. I spotted him at the table we usually sit at. Wait, what the heck is that Shinsou guy doing there? A weird feeling flourished in my chest. They could be just friends, but I feel like I shouldn't trust the guy. I felt a little angry that he could take Denki's attention away from me.
Am I jealous?
Barry Buckman and the Interdimensional Beastiary
In the beginning of 2021 I did something possibly stupid, I hired a ghostwriting company to write one of the many ideas going on in my head since I was busy with my job. Unfortunately... They were not the greatest, after the first writer assigned to me left I was stuck with... We'll just call her 'Karen'. Karen didn't want to listen to my feedback on chapters, and turned what was supposed to be a long story about a young guy surviving on an island of supernatural and crazy stuff, and becoming stronger from it, was turned into a not so great romance novel.I plan on releasing another one, probably after this that will be Barry Buckman Redux, which will be me writing it out the way I originally envisioned it.
