《One Night (Completed)》12. Aria

I had just finished getting ready when Mark texted me saying he was outside. I checked my face over in the mirror and then made my way out the door. I had on a simple white v-neck and some cut up jeans with my hair in a ponytail under the hat I wore. I got in Mark's car seeing he was looking extra dapper, and smelling real nice meanwhile I was chill as hell.
I smiled as I connected eyes with him, "hey!"
He looked me up and down and smiled as he spoke, "how are you?" he asked as he began putting the address into his GPS.
"I'm good, " I started, "I feel like I'm under dressed though." I was solely basing this off of how he was dressed.
He laughed, "nah, you good! It's real chill." I just gave him a small smile as he found a song on his phone and it started playing through his car. We had slight conversation as we headed there.
Once we got to the open mic it was actually pretty packed, there were some amazing performances. I was definitely down to come every month when they had it.
"How did you like it?" Mark asked as the last person walked off of the stage and the host came up talking.
I looked at him with a smile, beaming, "I loved it! I definitely want to come when they have this again."
He smiled, "shit, let's do it then." We started walking towards the exit, "you want to go get a drink?" I looked down at my phone, seeing that the night was still young. Landon came to my mind for a moment, we hadn't talked since he left my house this morning with an attitude about me going to this open mic with Mark.
I looked back up at Mark, "shit, let's do it!" I said mocking him, he laughed, and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
He checked his phone, which was filled with messages. "I got the perfect spot" he said as we made it to his car.
We pulled up to this hookah spot, it was pretty popular in the area, I hardly ever went because I wasn't a big hookah fan, but they served drinks too.
"You like hookah?" I asked as he pulled into a park.
He shrugged, "it's iight, I usually just come here for the drinks while the boys smoke hookah." I nodded my head, we got out the car as I saw Kennedy walking in with Mink. I yelled for her and she turned around and started walking my way.
"Hey girl!" she said with a big smile on her face, "I can never get you to come here with me, but Mark can?" she asked with her eyes shifting to Mark, then back to me.
I laughed, "I didn't know we were coming here, relax."
Mark just stood there smiling, Mink eyeing him up and down. Mark was a cute guy, brown skin with short curly hair, and a pretty smile. And he was a gentleman, from what I could see.
I smirked at Mink, she caught my eye, looking embarrassed. I smiled at her, "it's all good," I mouthed trying to tell her with my eyes she could go for it.
Mink was a chocolate girl with a body to die for, she had her hair in a bob cut, as she stood there in some jeans and a spaghetti strapped top, looking cute. She laughed lowly and shook her head no and just turned around as we all started walking towards the entrance.

It was packed once we made it in, they were playing good music and people were actually up dancing a little bit. I'd been here one time and it was wack, which is why I refused to come back with Kennedy no matter how many times she told me how much it improved and that the crowd was way better now. She wasn't lying though. We made our way to the bar to get some drinks, Mark asked me what I wanted as he started trying to get the bartender's attention, Kennedy took this as a prime time to pull me to the side and question me.
"Umm, so what's this?" she said with her eyebrows up.
I shook my head and chuckled, "it's two friends going out."
Kennedy looked at me like bitch please. "Two friends? Me and you" she said while pointing at herself and then me, "would be two friends going out. Since when did you and Mark become friends?" she said as she put air quotes on the word friends. She had a very valid point. Mark and I weren't friends yet but we were into the same things so we could easily become friends in my mind.
"We like the same type of things, there was an open mic, so we went and then we just decided to get drinks after. That's all there is to it."
She looked at me with a knowing look, "Mhm, that's all it better be. I'm team Landon."
I rolled my eyes, "Oh yeah, you would definitely want me to be with the ho of the city." Landon hadn't hit my line since he left with an attitude this morning about me hanging with Mark. And I damn sure wasn't going to hit his line.
Her mouth started to widen as a smile began to play on her face, "no, I just know he really feeling you." Now that was some bullshit to me, but then I thought about how he was really trippin' out about me going out with Mark. But at the same time that don't mean shit.
"How you figure?" I asked.
"Chris told me," she began, I put my hand up stopping her. "I wouldn't believe anything he told you."
She looked offended, "and why not?"
I tilted my head to the side, "they're friends, really close friends. He's going to tell you whatever sounds good, cause he knows it'll get back to me."
She stood there biting her lip as she was deep in thought, "damn, you probably right" she said as she started laughing. I shook my head at her as Mink and Mark came up with drinks in their hands. He handed me mine, and Mink handed Kennedy one, "thank Mark, he got our drinks for us," Mink said as Kennedy took the drink out of her hand. We all thanked him as he made his way towards the back and told us to follow him.
We stopped at a booth where Jodie and Bryan were at, they looked at us wide eyed, a little too surprised to see us. We smiled and spoke, and Jodie quickly got on his phone texting somebody. I took a sip of my drink as I saw two girls heading where we were, as they got closer I saw that it was Casey and her friend from the party. I laughed to myself, already putting two and two together.
They looked at us with the stankest faces, I turned towards Kennedy to make sure she was good already knowing how she felt about ol' girl. She wasn't focused on me though, her eyes were on them as they slid in the booth beside Jodie.

Just as they slid in Chris and Landon were walking up, both of their heads in their phones. See, I had already pieced this together when the girls walked over here; two plus two is four and now he had me fucked up. And it's not the fact that he was with her, but the fact that he clearly lied about where he stood with her. If it was past tense and they were only 'friends' now she wouldn't have looked my way like that.
Both of them were looked up from their phone wide eyed, looking like they got the text Jodie probably sent a little late. I just laughed to myself and shook my head, focusing my attention on Kennedy and Mink, "I want to dance" I said to them, "let's go dance." I truly no longer wanted to be in this vicinity or any of these niggas presence but I couldn't let this ruin my good night. Had to remind myself I didn't give a fuck about that nigga and remember why I didn't just fuck for fun. Because of shit like this but I was here and I was going to go enjoy myself.
But my mind couldn't get over the fact that I literally just fucked the nigga not even twenty four hours ago and here he was with this girl. But whatever, it is what it is. It was just a fuck, and I decided that so I couldn't be in my feelings.
Kennedy looked at me with sad eyes a little bit for my sake, not hers. She quickly put a smile on, "let's go." We started to walk towards the dance floor as Chris and Landon finally decided to continue towards the booth as we walked away from it. I felt Landon's eyes on me, but I refused to look his way as I started walking past him with my Kennedy and Mink in tow.
I would not let this shit ruin my night, it was good so far, and I was going to end it with it being good. I was chanting this to myself as I chugged the rest of my drink and went to the bar first to get another one, with Kennedy and Mink doing the same.
"I'll fuck him up if you want me to," Kennedy said as she grabbed her drink.
"And you know I'll have the follow up," Mink added in, "and I don't even know the situation" she finished with a laugh.
I laughed, "nahh, I'm not even stressing it. Fuck him." I waved off as I brought my drink to lips to take a sip.
I had hung out with Mink a few times before and I definitely liked her, like Kennedy she was trained to go and always down for a good time.
We finally made our way on the dance floor as we danced to beat, just enjoying the shit! Flirting and dancing with niggas who weren't even cute, just because we could. But they were cool as hell, they bought us shots as we took a few with them. I was throwing a lot back quickly so I knew it was going to hit hard but fuck it! You only live once!
We had just finished up our second shot when Casey and her friend walked up, I couldn't recall her name. Her friend looked our way and I could tell she was talking shit as her eyes went from me to Kennedy.
If it ain't directed it I don't respect it, I ignored them as I asked the bartender for another shot, the guy who bought the first two shots told the bartender to just make it another round.
We all took the shot and then ordered a drink and headed back to the dance floor, as we were dancing Casey's friend walked by Kennedy and purposely bumped her. It's like she wanted to start some shit.
They were trying the wrong ones tonight, and we had all this liquor in our system. Double negative for them. Kennedy looked at me with an evil grin, and I already knew what she was on.
She quickly turned around and pulled her arm, forcing the girl to face her. "Bitch, if you ever-" she was cut off with Chris coming out of nowhere getting between the two as he grabbed the girl's waist as he walked her back, she immediately started to pop off at the mouth. I rolled my eyes, she wasn't going to do shit had Chris not started pushing her away.
Kennedy just stood there silently, staring at the girl popping off as she watched Chris continue to walk her back towards the booth. Kennedy took a sip of her drink, her eyes still on the girl as she watched Jodie try to calm the girl down. Kennedy was crazy as shit, silent killer when she wanted to be and definitely looked like she was plotting.
Kennedy started making her towards the booth as I quickly got in front of her and told her it wasn't even worth it, the girl was wack as fuck. Shit, everybody at that booth was wack as fuck.
Kennedy wasn't focused on me though, her eyes still on the girl. I turned around as the girl was calming down but her eyes still our way, and the fact that Kennedy was now closer she decided to pop more shit. "What's up bitch? All that shit you was talking pop off!" Chris quickly cut it, "yo Sarai, chill the fuck out yo. This ain't the place for that shit."
That was her name, "you and your friend won't nothing but easy fucks you weak ass bitch!" She spit at Kennedy as she looked at me too. This caused Casey to laugh as she looked my way.
Oop, did I just get called an easy fuck? I brought that shit on myself but this bitch wasn't about to have the right to say that, not to face! I laughed, "I can't hear you bitch, come a little closer." I said with a sly smile as I walked up a little. Kennedy quickly put her hand out stopping me. "Nahh, I want her." Kennedy spoke calmly.
Casey stood up from the booth as she crossed her arms, sneaky smile on her face as Landon quickly looked at her. "She said you and your friend are an easy fuck."
Kennedy laughed as she shrugged, finishing her drink before talking, "well let me show her what an easy ass whooping look like." I laughed as Casey didn't stop her statement right there, she rolled her eyes as she started talking again, not allowing Sarai to say something smart back like we could tell she wanted to.
Her eyes were focused on me, "Y'all look stupid as hell," her eyes going towards Kennedy. "Trying to start shit, but who are they in here with? Me and her, y'all don't mean shit to them, they tell us that shit," we weren't the ones trying to start shit, her friend was but I was zoned into everything she had to say with a smirk on my face. She looked back at me,
"shit, you were a fucking bet." She pointed at me, and then motioned to all the guys, "all these niggas bet that my nigga couldn't fuck you, and he did. You're a joke bitch. Both of you." She said as she looked at Kennedy.
My anger shifted after hearing that, I knew he had ulterior motives and I should have listened to myself and left the nigga alone. Should have never fucked him, but to really be sitting here pillow talking and joking about it to this stupid ass girl pissed me off even more especially since she had the audacity to come for me right here, right now.
All I saw was red, I blanked out by the time my mind focused on what I was doing I was already on top of her throwing blows with Chris trying to pull me off. Clearly Kennedy took it as her opportunity to go for Sarai, cause she did as Chris was no longer shielding her.
Kennedy started repeatedly punching the girl in the face as the girl fell to ground making it too easy for Kennedy. "Shit! What the fuck!" Chris yelled out as he turned around seeing Jodie trying to disconnect Kennedy from Sarai as he still had a grip on me. He let me go running towards Kennedy and Sarai.
I was breathing hard as I saw Casey kicked me from the ground, pissing me off even more but Landon quickly grabbed me up as I was going for her.
I stopped trying to hit Casey once I realized whose grasp I was in, "get the fuck off of me" I yelled with angry tears starting to form in my eyes, I turned around facing him, pushing him, "a bet," I screamed, "I was a fucking bet!?" That shit really pissed me off.
By this time security had made their way to where we were, pulling me out of Landon's face and grabbing Kennedy up as she still tried to go for Sarai, I looked over and could see Sarai mouth was bleeding. "All y'all need to fucking go!" The security yelled as they pulled us towards the exit.
We damn sure wouldn't be coming here anymore.
