《When I'm with You》2

Bennett's first day at his new school went better than he had expected. Although he didn't get the chance to make new friends like he wanted to, he also didn't do anything too bad aside from his usual clumsiness.
Bennett watched his step carefully as he got off the bus and approached his house. "I'm home!" He chirped, taking off his shoes.
After a moment there was a response from the kitchen. "Bennett?"
"Dad!" The boy practically skipped into the kitchen."Hi!"
"Hey Benny, how was school?" The male asked, preparing dinner for the boy.
"It was good."
"Oh- Benny help me put down some dinner plates." The male spoke and Bennett obeyed, grabbing plates from the kitchen and placing them on the table.
After watching Bennett dis out plates, the male sighed with frustration,"Ah. I was about to ask something but I forgot.."
"I didn't do anything bad, if that's what you're wondering." Bennett spoke proudly.
Bennett's father laughed and ruffled his son's hair. "Also, is papa going to be back in time for dinner?"
"No. Not today, he's got a trip. But he'll be back tomorrow."
"Okay." Bennett sat down at the table with his dad and enjoyed the home cooked meal with him.

Bennett returned to school the next day with lunch money in his bag and a new mission of sorts.
Befriend Razor.
He had seen how the other kids treated Razor but honestly, he couldn't understand why they were so mean to him.
Bennett entered the classroom on time, unlike the day before and approached his desk. Right as he sat into his chair, the his desk collapsed.
The loud thud of the metal object falling made everyone turn to look at Bennett. "..Sorry.. it was an accident. Bennett apologized to the class and stood up to pick up his desk.

Why did it fall? Bennett sighed, noticing how rusted one of the legs were.
"Bennett, is there an issue?" Mr.Albedo asked.
"My desk.. it's broken." Bennett responded.
The teacher examined it before speaking,"Have a peer join you in the supply closet to get you a different desk after attendance."
Great.. now I have two more problems.. I don't know who's willing to help me.. or where the supply closet is.
Bennett anxiously sat in his chair, fidgeting with his fingers and looking for any classmate who would be willing to help.
It was obvious that they were avoiding eye contact with him.
A moment later the teacher left the homeroom classroom.
"Um.." Bennett tapped Razor's desk. "Could you help me?"
Razor eyed Bennett with an unreadable look before standing up, and picking up Bennett's desk effortlessly.
Bennett smiled and followed the boy out of the classroom."Also.. I don't know where the supply closet is."
Razor just looked straight ahead.
"Oh, do you know where it is?"
Razor nodded and lead Bennett to the door.
Bennett opened it for Razor and waited for the male to grab him a new desk.
"I hope this one won't break- oh no.. I think I jinxed it." Bennett panicked,"Could you grab a different one?"
Razor raised an eyebrow but did as Bennett asked anyways.
"Thank you."
The two boys returned to class with Bennett chattering and Razor listening.

Razor placed Bennett's desk down and sat down in his own seat beside the talkative boy.
"Also I forgot to give you this!" Bennett spoke, reaching in his pocket and handing Razor money.
The moment he did so, he could hear students whispering,"Look. I bet Razor bullied Bennett into giving him money."

"I told you he was scary."
"I guess Bennett really is unlucky." The boy snickered.
Bennett frowned, he was about to speak up and defend Razor, but was stopped by Razor putting his hand on top Bennett's.
"What?"
Razor shook his head.
"But they're making up rumors!" Bennett whined.
Razor shrugged. Not worth it.
Bennett frowned,"At least take this as payment for yesterday."
Razor looked down at the 5 dollar bill and just pushed Bennett's hand back towards him.
"You won't take it?"
Razor shook his head again.
"Fine. I'll pay you back another way." Bennett huffed, pocketing his money and adjusting himself in his desk chair.
Finally homeroom was over, and the first class of the day began.
"Good morning class." Their teacher Mr.Kaeya spoke. "Let's not waste any time and get right into today's history lesson."
Bennett took out his notebook and pen, preparing to write when the ink exploded on his paper.
Bennett grimaced before raising his hand.
"Yes?"
"Can I go wash my hands? I spilled ink."
A few students giggled and Bennett frowned.
"Alright, just hurry back." The teacher spoke.
Bennett sighed, At least it didn't get onto my clothes.
He found the bathroom and scrubbed his hands multiple times to clean the ink off.
I should've just stick to pencil. Even with the lead breaking. At least it's not as messy.
Bennett wiped his hands with paper towel and grabbed a few extra to use on his desk.
He returned to the classroom to see that Razor had already wiped off the table for him as well as thrown the useless pen away.
"Oh. Thank you." Bennett smiled. Razor nodded at the boy.
"All set?" Mr.Kaeya asked and Bennett nodded. "Good."
Bennett pulled out a pencil and began to take notes for the first half of class, then halfway through, his teacher brought up a project.
"Anyways, seeing as we live in such a historical area, I'd like for you guys to take the chance to explore Mondstadt and report on your findings."
Aether raised his hand and Kaeya called on him,"Is this a group project?"
"I was just about to get there." Kaeya clapped his hands together,"Yes. This is a group project. Only groups of two or three."
"Can we work alone?" Sucrose asked.
"If you want to lose points." Kaeya answered with a laugh and Sucrose groaned.
"Anyways. Good luck to you all. I'll let you use the rest of this class time to figure out your partners and discuss how you want to get work done."
Bennett turned to Razor. "So.."
Razor nodded.
"Yay!" Bennett cheered. He was going to enjoy this project.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
