《When I'm with You》5

For the rest of the week, Bennett and Razor continued to meet up outside of school and complete their assignment, and before they knew it, they had finished.
"Finally done with the write-up!" Bennett stretched from his spot on his bed.
Razor closed his laptop and looked at Bennett's desk, which the boy had cleaned during his second visit so Razor would have a place to sit.
【Flashback】
"You know Razor, you coming over for this assignment is the only reason I've kept my room clean." The boy spoke, putting papers on his desk into the drawers.
Razor looked around the room at the unfolded clothes on the floor as well as water bottles on the bedside table.
Bennett blushed, feeling embarrassed,"You can wait in the hallway if you wanna.."
Razor shook his head, moving to grab a few bottles and help throw them away.
In Razor's opinion, the slight mess suited Bennett, but he would help the boy clean up anyways.
【Present】
Putting away his laptop in his backpack, Bennett got off of his bed,"Should we grab a snack to celebrate?"
Razor shrugged, not feeling particularly hungry. He really just wanted to look around Bennett's room.
Even though he had been in it a few other times for the project, he hadn't been given the chance to really explore what Bennett had.
"Okay I'll get us some fruit snacks." Bennett left his room to get the food.
Razor on the other hand finally took the time to admire the boy's cute bedroom. The walls had posters of superheroes and TV show characters that Razor hadn't seen before.
But truthfully he wasn't much of a TV person.
The quiet boy approached Bennett's bookshelf and finally took in the details of the small figurines with big heads. A few of them seemed to be wearing the same orange athletic uniform.

One of the figures had orange hair, holding a volleyball, while the other had silver spiky hair, with streaks of black.
Cute. Like Bennett..
"Okay! Fruit snacks!" Bennett returned with a few in his hands.
He tossed two to Razor and opened one of his own as he sat down on his bed. "For a first week of school, this actually wasn't too bad." Bennett spoke. "Thank you for that."
Razor nodded in acknowledgement.
"I think we should have a sleepover some day." Bennett spoke randomly while he ate his snacks.
Razor looked over at Bennett with raised eyebrows.
"I mean. Only if you're okay with it."
Razor nodded.
"I'll plan something fun." Bennett responded,"I just really like hanging out with you."
At that, Razor couldn't contain his soft smile.
Bennett gasped. "You smiled?" Bennett couldn't help but smile,"It's cute." He continued.
Razor blushed, not expecting such a compliment.
He quickly pulled out his phone to message Bennett.
Thank you. :)
Bennett pulled out his phone to read the message,"I was just being honest." Bennett responded.
Razor felt like his face was going to explode if Bennett continued any longer.
Almost time to go.
As soon as Bennett read the message he frowned,"Aw.. okay. At least finish your fruit snacks~"
Razor nodded, finishing the second packet.
"I'm walking you to the stop again." Bennett spoke, grabbing a sweater and putting it on.
Razor watched as Bennett's raised arms lifted his undershirt and revealed Bennett's tummy.
Razor sighed. Effortlessly cute.
"Is something wrong?" Bennett asked with a messy head of hair from the hoodie.
Razor shook his head, ruffling Bennett's hair to fix it for the boy.
"Alright then! Let's go!" Bennett spoke, leaving the room to take his friend to the bus stop.

Bennett spent the entire weekend staying up late and messaging Razor. He was so excited to finally have someone to constantly talk to who was his age.
Eventually Monday rolled around and the two boys were able to see each other in person again.
Bennett entered the classroom excited to see Razor. "Hey Ra-" Bennett tripped on his own shoelace and fell to the ground.
A few students looked at Bennett before turning away and giggling to themselves.
Immediately he got up,"Ugh. I should just remove my laces." Bennett sighed, walking to sit beside Razor.
Razor smiled and gestured for Bennett to face him. "What?"
Razor grabbed Bennett's leg and placed Bennett's shoe on his thigh so he could tie the lace better.
"Oh! Thank you."
Razor nodded and put Bennett's foot back down.
"Alright class." Mr.Albedo entered the classroom,"Let's start attendance."
The two boys shifted their attention to the front of the classroom and sat silently as the male completed the daily routine.

During lunch, Bennett sat beside Razor under their tree. As usual Bennett rambled and Razor listened.
"I think that was one of my most unluckiest days. I ruined my entire backpack with water and all of my homework was gone."
Razor watched Bennett, just admiring the tone of the boy's voice and listening intently.
"I mean, I've grown accustomed to the unluckiness.. but it still kind of sucks." Bennett huffed and casually rested his head on Razor's shoulder.
Razor did his best to not seem tense but it seemed like Bennett noticed. "Oh, did I cross a line?" He pulled away nervously.
Razor shook his head and grabbed Bennett's wrist, gently pulling the boy closer to him again.
"Oh okay." Bennett adjusted himself and laid his head down comfortably. "Anyways I don't remember where my unluckiness started, it's just always been like this."
Razor on the other hand was looking down at Bennett's wrist, which he was still holding.
"But I mean, I'm used to it.." He sighed and just relaxed beside Razor for a moment before asking,"Mm.. Razor.. is it okay if I sleep here?"
Razor nodded.
"You'll wake me up for class?" He asked tiredly.
Razor nodded more firmly than before. He'd never leave Bennett behind like that.
"Okay thanks." Bennett murmured as he dozed off.
Nervously Razor adjusted his hand and just placed it on top of Bennett's which was just a bit smaller than his.
Bennett hummed softly in his sleep and for a moment Razor was worried he had woken the boy up.
Razor was relieved to see that Bennett was still napping calmly.
What am I doing..?
Razor looked up across to courtyard to see if anyone was looking and felt pleasantly surprised to see that no one really cared.
He turned to look at Bennett's fluffy head of hair resting on him and finally came to terms with how he felt.
Now he needed to decide whether he wanted to tell Bennett or keep it to himself.

Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder
I, Mick Chadwick, regret to inform my readers that this memoir contains nothing but the truth, which in the case of Tobias MacClain, most ridiculed as Pajama Boy, is far from pleasant. If you seek to relate to a hero more than to aspire to them and have the stomach for unpleasant things such as a hero left for dead, villainous scars, bomb threats, and murderous intent, then look no further. All of these gruesome things and more await from my research, and though I do not wish them on any man or woman, I cannot bear this burden on my own much longer. In the words of Tobias MacClain himself, "Sometimes, a villainous act can cause the greatest good." I hope that all my villainous acts of sneaking, blackmailing, diary-reading, and grave-digging, among others, will be redeemed as I present this complete and truthful memoir to the world, and with any luck, open eyes to the truth of what we call "villainy". Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder ********* MATURE FILTER IS FOR:- violence- graphic imagery (blood, burns, fairly dark headspaces)- cartoon depiction of burn scars for visual aid Despite graphics, Mick Chadwick's writing keeps Mr. MacClain's terrible tale light somehow. This is foremostly a comedy.
