《When I'm with You》7

Bennett returned to the classroom and sat down beside Razor awkwardly. "Here's your clothes."
Razor took them from the boy and just placed them in his bag. He was beginning to regret what he had said earlier.
Bennett nervously scribbled on the corner of his notebook. He didn't want to overthink anything.. but he'd never been called cute before.
He wasn't really sure how to react. Wait.. did I make things weird by not saying anything?
Bennett wanted to slam his head on the desk. Idiot.
"Alright class today's almost over, we just have one last announcement." Mr.Kaeya spoke as he entered the classroom. "As you know, each year the juniors get to take a class trip to a camp for fun."
Bennett looked up in surprise,"People actually do those?" He asked Razor, completely forgetting the awkward situation he felt.
Razor nodded.
"The money is due by the end of this week, so make sure to ask your parents and get your permission slip signed." Kaeya spoke before dismissing the class.
"Are you going?" Bennett asked.
Razor shrugged and sent Bennett a text.
I usually don't go.
"Oh.." Bennett thought about it for a moment,"I kinda wanna go.. Will you go if I go?" Bennett asked again.
Of course I would.. Razor thought to himself, but opted to not tell that to Bennett.
Sure.
Bennett felt a wave of relief come over him, although he wasn't sure why. "Also Razor, do you wanna hang out after school today?"
Razor shook his head.
Can't today, sorry :(
"Oh.. okay." Bennett frowned, standing up and holding his backpack. "Text me later at least?"
Razor nodded and Bennett smiled softly. "Bye Razor." Bennett waved as he left the classroom.

Razor sighed and looked down at his phone to see a message.
Li Jing:
Pick up my kids from school.
Be on time.
Razor stood up, wearing his backpack and walking to the elementary school. The boy stood at the front gates waiting for the children.
"Razor's here!" A girl squealed and ran up to him, wrapping her arms around his leg.
Razor patted Mei's head gently and looked up to see where her twin brother was.
The boy in question was struggling to take a toy back from another boy.
Razor's eyebrows drew together with concern. He gently picked up Mei, placing her on his hip, and approached the boys.
"R-Razor. He won't give it b-back." Liu sobbed.
Razor glared at the boy harshly.
Feeling frightened, the boy dropped the robot toy and left it with Liu.
"Th-Thank you." Liu hiccupped, standing up and grabbing Razor's free hand.
For the past few days, the twins mom had been putting more work on Razor, and asking him to pick them up.
Razor didn't really mind though, he felt like he owed her for the hospitality she had given him for the last few years.
"Razor.. will you make lunch?" Mei asked sitting at the kitchen table and working on her school work. Which was actually just coloring a picture.
Razor nodded and opened the fridge to prepare the twins food.

Bennett:
Razor?
Bennett looked at his phone and sighed. He hadn't received a response from Razor yet. Did I upset him? Bennett flopped backwards onto his bed,"Does he really think I'm cute when I'm concerned?"
Razor:
sorry for the late response
hi bennett
Bennett sat up quickly, hearing his phone vibrate.
Bennett:
u responded!
i was nervous for a sec.
Razor looked at his phone in confusion.

Razor:
nervous? why?
Bennett:
uh nvm
Razor:
what happened?
Bennett:
nothing
Razor stared at his phone. Should I go visit him.. Will Li Jing mind?
"Razor!" A voice called from the hallway. Razor exited his bedroom to see his foster parent in the kitchen drinking a smoothie. "Did you make lunch for the twins?"
Razor nodded.
The woman stared at him for a moment,"Still won't talk?"
Razor frowned. She's always pressuring me.. I'm already doing my best with therapy..
"I don't really understand that. You should get over it soon. Aren't you going to college in a few years?"
Razor nodded slowly.
"Anyways. Whenever you get tired of acting like that.. let me know."
Razor grimaced and pointed towards the door.
"Heading out?" Li Jing asked.
Razor nodded.
"Whatever. Just don't get back too late."

Bennett stared at his phone. "Why won't he respond?"
"Benny! Someone's at the door for you."
What? Bennett got out of bed and opened the door to see Razor.
"What are you doing here-"
Razor hugged Bennett.
Bennett's eyes widened in confusion, but he hugged Razor back nevertheless.
"Razor..? Are you okay?" Bennett asked, holding the boy tightly.
Razor shook his head.
"Everything alright Benny?" Bennett's father asked, still standing in the hallway.
"Uh-Yeah." He pulled away from Razor,"We're going upstairs."
Bennett and Razor sat beside each other on Bennett's bed. "Is something going on?"
Razor pulled out his phone.
Li Jing.. She's always
telling me to start
talking and she doesn't
realize how hard it is.
Bennett frowned. "I'm so sorry. Do you wanna just stay here with me and relax?"
Razor nodded. He also wanted to hug Bennett again because the boy was comfortable to be around.
Somehow when he was with Bennett, he felt less pressured. Bennett was just.. so warm and caring..
Bennett laid down and pulled Razor closer so they could lay down together.
"I'm sorry she's treating you like that Razor." Bennett whispered, running his fingers through Razor's hair. "Just know that I won't ever forcd you, or expect that from you."
Razor bit his lip,"Thanks Bennett."
Bennett froze and looked down at Razor. "Razor."
Razor looked up at Bennett in surprise. "Oh my gosh.." Bennett whispered.
The two boys sat up."Y-you spoke." Bennett stammered.
Razor's hands shot up to his neck, he looked at Bennett in fear. It had been years and Razor didn't even remember what he sounded like.
Bennett blushed,"Y-your voice.."
Razor blushed as well, but he was also anxious.
"I-I'm not expecting you to say anything else.. But your voice.. it sounds lovely Razor.."
Razor slowly dropped his hands from his neck.
"I mean it." Bennett spoke, placing a hand on top of Razor's.
My feelings are only getting stronger for you when you act like this Bennett..
"Do you want to keep laying down? Or.. do something else?" Bennett wasn't quite sure what to do about their situation.
Razor feels so calm around me that he even spoke.. Bennett thought to himself.
Razor gestured towards the pillow and laid down again. Bennett pulled Razor closer and ran his fingers through the male's hair.
Sure, it was a bit domestic.. but Bennett felt that Razor could use the comfort. His thoughts began to wander, What does this mean..?

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a novel. I am preparing to participate in the 2017 NaNoWriMo event so enjoy the first chapter as that's here early only to ensure that I have a place to post once the event starts. This means the first novel/book will have a target of 50,000 words. I'm excited to attempt this challenge despite the hurdles I will have to overcome. I do have a demanding full time job so planning time to write and make weekly releases starting in November will be my biggest challenge. Also, please accept my apologies on my cover. I'm not an artist and the only digital tool available at my disposal is the stock microsoft paint. So I did my best to create a decent cover as I did not want to steal the work of another. If there are those interested by the end of November in donating a new fan made cover then I will look into replacing the old cover.
