《Drama Club [Rannett]》Chapter 4

The weekend after passed by fairly quickly to Bennett's dismay. Other than the occasional talking to his friends or napping nothing happened.
He sat in his class with his head in his hands glancing out of the window. He watched as the last few students walked into school. "They're going to be late."
He noticed a familiar silhouette but decided to brush it off, turning his head to focus on the class at hand as the teacher hurried into the room.
"Okay, let's start the class." The teacher was short with blond hair tied back and bright blue eyes. "We'll continue on our class on the color wheel."
He turned around but just as he started, Razor burst through the door. "S-Sorry I'm late Mr. Albedo!" He panted. He obviously ran to class. Bennett watched as Razor slumped into the desk next to him.
"You look like a mess, your hair's everywhere by the way." Razor turned his head as he scowled. "Yeah, alarm's bad."
"Bennett, Razor, stop talking or you both can come up to the class and explain the color wheel since you know so much about this topic, you would rather ignore me." Albedo sighed, not turning his head to even spare them a glance.
"Uh, no, sorry." Bennett squeaked. He always harbored a sort of fear of his art teacher, maybe it's the stoic face or the fact that he never smiles unnerved him.
Bennett's eyes kept flickering from the rules of colors and shading to Razor and back. "Okay class, unfortunately the art room is still not open, so to practice this you'll need your notebooks, if you don't have paper come to the front, I have spares."
Bennett pulled out his art book and flipped to a page devoid of his little doodles and failed artworks he couldn't finish.

"Remember, sometimes colors you think will be good together mayn't go well together, test the colors before using them on your initial artwork."
Bennett didn't care about what Albedo was saying. He watched as Razor stared at his paper, scowling. "Are... you okay?" Bennett chuckled. Razor turned to him and shook his head. "Art's bad. My hand shakes a lot. Not good." Razor's head lolled backward as he let out a sigh.
"Do you need help?" Bennett smiled as Razor moved his head lazily. "Mmhm." Razor groaned back.
"Okay so what do you wanna draw?" "Tree. House. Flowers." Bennett looked at him and raised his eyebrows. "Did you sleep well last night?" "...no." "Yeah, thought so." Bennett sighed. "Go to the nurse and sleep Razor, art's not as important as your health."
"That's true." Albedo stood above them, eerily. "Mr. Albedo! When did you get there?!" Bennett jumped instinctively. "Oh I was just passing around. Nice sketch. Go to the nurse, Razor."
Albedo crammed all his words into one paragraph, confusing Razor, but he went to the nurse nonetheless, accompanied by Bennett.
"I don't want to." Razor said, looking away angrily. "Why? Everyone wants to sleep." "I'm sick."
Bennett stared at Razor before putting his hand on his forehead gingerly. "You are! Why didn't you stay home?" "Parents. They don't know..." Razor mumbled, fumbling with the strings on the hoodie he was wearing.
"Well why not?!" Bennett shouted back irritated. How do they not know? How could they not know? "They wouldn't care anyway. No use." Razor shrugged.
"If they find out they worry, and when they worry about me they get angry. And when they get angry they... y'know what? Nothing. Forget I said anything! Let's just go." Razor stormed off with his hands in his pockets, leaving behind a bewildered and baffled Bennett.

"His parents what? What do they do? Why doesn't Razor want me to know? Is it personal...? Physical...?" He pondered confused.
"What just happened?"
Bennett walked to the roof tired. One class with Mr. Albedo then one right after with Mrs. Beidou? Too much for him in a row. One freaked him out and the other one makes him run laps until his lungs are begging the Archons to free them from the torture.
"Hey guys- ugh..." Bennett hissed at his legs cramped for the thousandth time that day. Fischl looked at him with evident concern.
"Hey Bennett... are you okay?" "Eh, I'm gonna guess he had Mrs. Beidou." Xinyan shrugged as Xiangling nodded. "Mhm, want some of my homemade Jade Parcels?" Xiangling smiled, one already in her hand half eaten as she grabbed one and offered it to Bennett.
"Ah, thanks." Bennett nodded and grabbed it from her hand. "Where's Razor?" Bennett looked around again noticing he wasn't there.
"He was in art and went to the nurse, then he didn't come back..." Bennett looked at Chongyun. "Didn't you just have a class with him? Math?"
Bennett's shoulders slumped as Chongyun shook his head no. "No, he might've went home."
"Hold on, I'll go check." Bennett stood up, stumbling a little from his pained legs, and began sprinting. Normally, after PE with Mrs. Beidou, his cramps would leave him unable to run for a day, but he didn't even care.
He sprinted through hallways, people and random miscellaneous things scattered around.
"Yes Bennett! I haven't seen you sprint like that since ever! Good job!" Beidou yelled to him, but honestly, he couldn't care less.
"Nur- Barb?" Bennett stared at her for a second as Barbara stopped what she was doing.
"Oh, Bennett! You sick too?" She removed her gloves and started to the cabinet for medicine.
"No, you the nurse now or something?" She removed her gloves and started to the cabinet for medicine.
"No, the nurse is out because of an allergy to who knows what, and I volunteered, and I'm actually surprised I'm allowed to do this." Barbara got up off her moving chair.
"Yeah me too... anyway, Ra-" "Razor went home, he has a cold." "Ah... okay." Bennett looked down. "It's okay, you can probably see your boyfriend tomorrow or something!" Barbara smirked. "Ugh, shut up!" Bennett huffed, leaving.
"So Razor was sent home? Huh, not surprised but disappointed... oh well." Bennett sighed.

The Choice is Not Yours
Author's Note: (As of November 20, 2021) I rewrote all the chapters perhaps more than a year ago, but haven't announced that I did so. Because that kind of announcement would include something along the lines of, "I'm working on the story so expect new chapters!" But the truth is, I lack motivation to do anything. And I would hate myself if I broke a promise. I'm extremely sorry if you have been patiently waiting for uploads. These days, I've been studying, not well, but studying somewhat. I will definitely bring more to show, with regular uploads. If not this story then there's another story I've been writing that's really exciting to me. It's not exactly similar to this story since it has a male lead and he is a baneful asshole with even less morals. I hope you'll like it when it comes to existence. And I'll leave my announcement off with the aforementioned promise. Meet Amber, a tomboyish, unstable, and cheeky lass who likes to keep to herself. According to her, she'll live the rest of her life on auto-pilot mode, awhile holding onto the few things that make her remotely happy. However, she forgot that people never really leave you alone, be it humans or even the Gods. And exactly that happens, ending her monotonous life on such the Gods' whim. But at what cost to her? Will she be able to hold onto the things she holds dear? Or will she fail miserably and lose herself in the process? That's what the Gods want to know. Disclaimer: I do not own the cover photo.Warning: If you are easily triggered, I am not writing this novel for you.
