《The Death Eater with a Choice》The Death Eater's choice

Welcome to the final part of the story which I have been writing on in over a year! Hope you enjoy it
-----------ooOoWoOoo-----------
Harry had no idea about what to do now. The Death Eaters where fleeing all around him while the Hogwarts students were attacking again with such an energy that it was hard to believe that the war had been going on for hours. Suddenly the flock of Centaurs where storming out of the woods sending arrows towards the Death Eaters. All Hogwarts house elfs came running out the castle with kitchen knives and screamed like crazy. Harry pulled the invisible cloak closer around him. He was scanning the scene for his friends. He saw Luna and Hermione fighting against a Death Eater with a scarred face. He saw Professor McGonagall fighting against Augustus Rookwood and Kingsley Shacklebolt and Arthur Weasley fighting agasint Corban Yaxley.
Harry froze when he saw the familiar blond hair and the skinny body wriggle on the ground, on the other side of the court yard. One of the Death Eaters was standing over him with his wand pointed down at Draco Malfoy while the Crucio curse was burning in the pale boy. Harry started to run towards him. His heart razed in his chest. He had just been laying on the ground, pretending to be dead before, while hearing the boy he loved, get tortured. He couldn't stand and watch again. He wanted Draco away, to safety. He stopped when someone else pushed the Death Eater aside and cursed him. Ron Weasley took Draco's hand and pulled him up. The red haired gave the Slytherin a small nod before storming into the castle where the fight was starting to move into. Harry casted a glance at Draco. The boy was trying to get rid of his parents to get out and fight. It was clear that Lucius and Nacissa wanted to get him away. Harry almost hoped that Draco would go with them. Get away from the danger. He wanted to go over and kiss him and apologize for what he had put him through, but instead he followed everyone else into the castle. He had a Dark Lord to kill.
Harry looked down at the now limb body of Lord Voldemort. He felt numb and tired. He could feel his friends clap him on his back and hear them cheering around him, but he couldn't be a part of it. He tried to smile while looking around. His eyes searching for some specific people. He finally saw Draco standing over at one of the walls. He looked tired and broken. His mother was hugging him tightly while Lucius looked at them with tears in his eyes. Harry wanted to be the one to hug the pale boy, but he forced himself to look away and find the two other people he wanted to be with. He saw Luna and Neville hugging each other close by and the rest of the Weasley family. George sitting with sorrow painted on his face. But he couldn't see his two best friends anywhere. He turned around a saw them standing behind him. Ron and Hermione both smiled and pulled him in for a hug. Everyone else moved away and went to find their own friends and family members. "You did it" Hermione whispered into the hug.
"We did it" Harry corrected it.
They pulled apart and looked at each other. Harry could see the mixed feelings in his friend's eyes. The sorrow and relief he also felt was battling inside of him. "Come" Ron said and the three of them walked out the Great Hall sat down on the staircase outside.

They looked at the bricks that were sprawled around.
"You have a lot of explaining to do!" Ron said after a couple of minutes in silence.
Harry nodded. His eyes were heavy from lack of sleep, but he owed his friends this. He told them everything about what he had seen in the Pensive and what had happened in the forest.
Hermione had tears in her eyes when he was done and Ron looked shocked. "Bloody hell" he whispered and looked away.
"That was so brave" Hermione said truthfully.
Harry blushed. "I was really scared".
"That's not a shame" Hermione said.
Ron looked back at Harry. "But there's something else I don't get" he said and narrowed his eyes.
"Why was Draco doing what he did?"
"He said he was in love with you, but you probably heard that" Hermione said and looked puzzled.
Harry blushed even deeper and looked away. "But he can't have meant it like that" Ron insisted.
Hermione shook his head. "It sounds weird. But he was incredible brave. I had never predicted that Draco Malfoy would face Voldemort like that" she said and looked at the ground.
"Me neither. It doesn't surprise me that he choose the winning side, but like that?" Ron said.
"But he didn't know that Harry was alive. He couldn't now that we were the winning side at that point. Or maybe he had seen something that we hadn't" Hermione questioned.
Harry almost found it quite funny to hear his two best friends trying to figure it out. There had happened so much since Harry and draco's relationship had ended. So much fight and hatred. He himself had not seen either, that the Slyhterin was able to show that kind of bravery. Harry had to admit that Draco was a bit of a coward sometimes.
"Maybe it's a secret plan" Ron still rambled.
Harry rolled his eyes. "It's not a secret plan" he said.
Both Ron and Hermione looked questionable at him, waiting for answers. "Yeah, about that. There's something I haven't told you" he began to explain, but before the two other got to react at least fifty wizards and witches suddenly stood in the courtyard with their wands lifted. Harry, Ron and Hermione all lifted their wands too, ready to fight. "Who are you?!" Harry yelled.
The three friends looked confused at each other when all the magicians started to applause. They smiled and nodded at Harry who slowly took his wand down. A tall slender man with long black hair and a pointy nose, took a step forward. "Harry Potter" he said warmly and lifted his hand to shake it with Harrys.
"Is it really true? Did you manage to kill He Who Must Not Be Named?" he asked.
"Well, yeah, but who-" Harry began, but again they started to applaud.
"Filleus! We don't have time for this now" a broad shouldered man said.
He came up and stood beside of the tall man who apparently was called Filleus. "No. Of course not. It's just so fantastic" he said happily.
The broad man nodded. "Sure" he said and turned to Harry.
"My name is Bitinham and I am the new temporary minister of magic. We are here to arrest any Death Eaters who survived the war".
Harry eyed the man. He hadn't even thought about where the ministry had been. "Where were you under the actual war?" he asked cooly.
Bitinham crossed his arms. "The ministry was also under the control of Voldemort. Now, Potter, please move".
Harry didn't move. "We don't have any Death Eaters in there. Not anyone alive. All there is, is mourners and celebrates and I would ask you not to disturb any of them" he said calmly.

"Let me just check to be sure" Bitinham said and glared at the boy in front of him.
Filleus looked between them. "Please Harry. We're only doing it to help you. I promise that we will be quick. We also want to go home and celebrate" he said and smiled.
Harry looked over at his two friends who both shrugged. They both glared back at the Minister though.
Harry moved reluctantly away. The minister moved past him with his followers close behind. They all smiled at him when they past or clapped his shoulder. "We should follow" Hermione said nervously.
Harry nodded. They started to follow the ministry workers into The Great hall. All the Hogwarts fighters were still sitting in there. They looked scared and confused at the new people who entered. Bitinham stopped and looked around at them all. "No need to worry. We are here to help. First I want to thank you all for helping bringing the Dark Lord down" he said, but then he stopped.
Harry quickly realized what the problem was and he cursed himself for not had been able to for seen that. Bitinham was looking down in the other end of the Great Hall. On the floor, sitting leaned up against the wall, sat the Malfoys. Draco in the middle of his parents who both had a hand on him. "No Death Eaters Potter?" Bitinham asked and glared at Harry.
"Arrest them!"
Two of the ministry workers stepped forward. Lucius, Nacissa and Draco all stood up. Harry could feel his heart raze in his chest. He looked at Draco's scared face and stepped forward, but he wasn't the only one. Every single one of the Hogwarts fighters walked in in front of them. "Draco Malfoy helped winning the war" Professor McGonnagal said and looked at the Minister.
"They are Death Eaters!" Bitinham insisted.
Harry could see the shame in Draco's eyes and he nervously started to pull his left sleeve down. Harry could feel his anger bubble in his stomach. It wasn't fair! "Draco Malfoy is no Death Eater!" Harry exclaimed.
All eyes, beside Draco's, were turned at him. The pale Slytherin boy looked down instead. "Shall we check his arm about that?" Bitinham spat.
"Yes he has the Dark Mark, but it was forced on him" Harry told.
All eyes now shifted between the two boys. "I'm sorry Draco, but I have to tell them" Harry said and looked at the boy.
Draco nodded without looking up. He took a careful step away from his parents, like he was afraid they were going to hurt him. Harry sighed. "Just like Severus Snape did, has Draco been working secretly for us since our sixths year at Hogwarts" Harry said loud and clear.
He looked over at Lucius and Nacissa who both looked at their son with terror in their eyes. "He have been giving a mission by Voldemort himself. The mission was to kill Albus Dumbledoree. As most of you probably know, was Draco and me not the best of friends. I spend most of my time that year stalking him, to find out what he was doing, because I knew he was doing something. One day I found him in the bathroom" Harry stopped talking and blushed, so did Draco in the other end of the hall.
"Well, I found out that Draco wanted out. I took him to Dumbledore and we figured out a plan. Dumbledore was dying, so we planned to make it look like Draco captured him and took his wand, meanwhile Snape would kill him. Then Draco would be safe and Voldemort would completely trust Snape" Harry explained.
The hall was completely silent after that. Everyone looked at Draco with big eyes. Bitinham glared at Harry. "Fine. Lets say that's true. His parents still is arrested" he said.
Harry looked over the two parents who still were looking at their son with shocked eyes. "I can't defend them, besides that, Nacissa Malfoy, did save my life earlier" Harry spoke.
Draco looked thankful up at him and he smiled back. "That doesn't matter. We will still take them" Bitinham said.
"But William" Fillues said and looked the two parents.
"As long as you don't take my son. As long as you don't take Draco. We will follow you!" Nacissa yelled.
"Deal!" Fillues said.
Bitinham looked irritated at his colleague, but then nodded. "Fine, fine".
The two ministry workers walked up and grabbed Lucius and Nacissa and pulled them with them out the hall. Draco looked after them with sorrow in his eyes. Harry could see tears glistering in the boys eyes and he knew that Draco would fight them until they were alone. He was a Malfoy after all. "Happy now?" Harry asked the minister.
"Yes he is. We're all very happy. Go and celebrate everyone!" Filleus quickly said before Bitinham could say anything.
Bitinham sneered and left the hall. Some of the ministry workers followed, some stayed, but Harry didn't care. Draco was still standing by the wall. He looked so small and helpless. Harry started to walk towards him, through the crowds and finally he could pull the boy in for a hug. "Thank you" he whispered into the blond hair.
Draco tightened his hold around Harry like his life depended on it and Harry smiled and closed his eyes. "It should be me thanking" Draco mumbled.
"Yeah well, thanking is not your strongest side" Harry mumbled.
Draco chuckled slightly. He pulled away and looked in Harrys eyes. "I can't believe it is over" he mumbled.
Harry nodded. He couldn't quite believe it either. "We can have a real life now. A life together" Harry said.
Draco smiled and nodded. He stepped closer to Harry again and then he hit Harry on the arm. Harry looked at him confused while rubbing his now sore arm. "What the hell Malfoy?" he asked.
"That was for scaring the hell out of me Potter. Pretending to be dead. I thought I should break" Draco sneered.
"Hey, I just killed Voldemort" Harry said pouting.
Draco smirked and leaned over to kiss Harrys lips. "And that's for doing so" he said.
Harry chuckled and shook his head. "Bloody Slytherin" he mumbled and kissed Draco again.
"Okay, I think that you aren't quite done with the explaining yet" Rons voice suddenly sounded.
Harry and Draco looked up. Almost everyone in the Great Hall was starring at them. Harry could feel himself blush. "Oh well, we have kinder been a thing again ever since the end of sixth year" Harry explained.
Ron shook his head and sighed. "I can't believe it. I thought it had just been a phase" he mumbled.
"Ron!" Hermione said.
"So now I have to be kind towards him?" Ron asked tired.
"Yeah, I guess" Harry said.
"Don't worry Weasley. It is a hard blow for me too" Draco said with a little smirk.
Hermione suddenly snapped her eyes over at Draco. "That was why you didn't tell Bellatrix that it was Harry, when we were captured" she said.
Draco looked down. "Yeah, sorry about not being better to do something" he mumbled.
Harry put a hand over his mouth. "Stop it will you!"
Draco sighed and looked over at Ron. "Thank you for saving my life earlier".
But it didn't seem like Ron had heard him. He looked at Harry with open mouth and eyes that were about to fall out his head. "Year six! That was when you started to sleep over in the room of requirement. You said you needed to be alone" Ron exclaimed.
Harry blushed, while Draco couldn't help snorting. "Well, we had to pretend to hate each other every day, we needed some time to-" Harry spoke fast.
"Don't need to hear the end of that sentence" Ron exclaimed.
Giggling could be heard around them. "To be together" Harry said blushing.
He looked over at Draco. It was finally over.

That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
