《STITCHES》CHAPTER SEVEN

Society seems confusing sometimes. Cause everything is part of a trend, and a lot of people are not being honest with themselves. Don't get me wrong, though; the world has always been confusing, and there will be a time that the old days will be part of the modern days. Everything will be like the times of our forefathers.

"But I want to be part of the mission. I promise to work hard and smart." I plead, hoping to win the argument I started an hour or so ago.
"Honey, you're already hard working and smart... But I can't allow you to join us; the mission is too dangerous." Dad states, looking at me with apologetic eyes.
I have to look up at him, his intimidating tall frame making me look like an ant.
My father stands at six seven, and I stand at five eight; just like my mother. Though, she is taller by half an inch.
My neck is hurting already, and I really want to give up on the argument. But my stubborn self can't just give up.
"Papa, just allow me to go on this one mission... I also want to punch Dave. I have to punch him." I try once more, sighing when Dad shakes his head at me.
"I'm sorry, Princess. I can't risk your safety... I don't want to see you hurt." Dad murmurs, walking out of the office, leaving me standing in the middle of the room.
"I don't even know why I try." I murmur, sitting on the couch that is present in the office.
It has been a week since I eavesdropped on Dad and Azrael's conversation. And I found out that they want to start a war; a war that would end Dave and his useless colony.
Of course, I was overjoyed when I heard this. A grin formed on my lips as I skipped down the hall and into Serena's room.
I didn't even mind that Serena was twenty minutes late. My mind only focused on one thing: and that thing involved asking Dad about the mission.
My father is a hard-headed man that is very overprotective. Just like myself.
I knew that Dad would say no if I directly asked him for his permission to join. But I still wanted to try, which was a bit dumb.
My father has shown me how to fight and he has also taught me the mind of a true leader.
But the man never allows me to go on dangerous missions. He fears that something might happen to me; which is understandable.
However, I still want to be in on the action. What's the use of me knowing all types of moves if I can't use them on people?
My father knows that I'm a skilled fighter and shooter. I can handle myself, and I can't cause any trouble in such situations.
Sighing, I stand up from the chair, walking out of the office with a scowl on my face.
I walk down the hall and into the kitchen, where I find Serena, who has a plate full of raspberries in hand.
"You alright?" She asks, chewing on the fruit.
"Yeah." I mutter, standing behind the sink.
I grab a cup from the cupboards, pouring some water inside. I gulp the water, washing the cup afterwards.

I dry it before placing it back in the cupboard. I begin to walk towards the refrigerator, grabbing my leftover cake.
"Spill; what's bothering you?" Serena asks, grabbing the spoon from me. She feeds herself a spoonful of the cake before handing me back the spoon.
"That's good cake." She mutters under her breath while I look at her with annoyance, my fist itching to punch her.
"Don't eat my food." I warn, and as a response, Serena rolls her eyes at me.
"No... Now tell me what's happening; what's got you looking like a disappointed monkey," Serena mumbles as we sit behind the kitchen island.
I begin debating with myself, wondering if I should tell her everything or if I should keep some details to myself.
"Dad doesn't want me to go on an important mission... The mission involves someone I hate with my whole being and I know that ending the person will give me relief... The imbecile is someone that doesn't need to be around people; he needs to be delt with. And I believe I can find him and end him before anyone else can."
Serena looks at me with curiosity and uncertainty when I finish speaking.
Serena is not one for violence, so I know she doesn't like the conversation.
"B-but why did Uncle refuse you from going with him? Cause from what I remember, you both always went to such places together. Yeah, you always stayed in the shadows, but nevertheless, you were still there." Serena questions, which makes me sigh for the hundredth time this morning.
"Apparently, I act with anger. And the old man fears that I might kill the imbecile before he can reveal some information," I blubber, my body suddenly craving some wine.
I stand up from the chair, walking towards the wine cabinet that is full of Mom's favorite red wine; and me being me, ends up taking two bottles... They will do for the day.
I grab two tumblers, pouring the wine to the brim before handing one to Serena, who silently thanks me.
"Don't thank me... Just think of something I can tell mom when she comes back; you know how she gets about her wine." I mumble, drinking from the bottle, my hand not even touching the tumbler.
I would act more lady like if I wasn't so stressed. I really want to go on the mission, and Dad saying no to me makes me feel disturbed.
"I don't even know if I should be telling you this," Serena begins fidgeting in her seat, looking around the room.
She sighs after she sees that we are alone. She leans in, whispering into my ear, her words making me smirk in triumph.
This will be fun.
~
"Won't we get in trouble?" Serena nervously asks as she ties her shoelaces.
"You won't get in trouble: but I will... Everyone knows that I'm the trouble maker here, and they also know that I make you do crazy things with me. So you're safe," I reply, applying my eyeliner.
Serena told me that there will be a meeting that will involve the Dons and Donnas of the most powerful mafias. And thankfully I knew were the meetings are held.
I awe when I see my reflection on the mirror. I look good.

My skin looks so good and the two buns on my head make me look cute.
Both Serena and I are in black leather pants, platform boats and white short sleeved jackets, that are v necks.
"You look gorgeous," I compliment her, hoping to ease her nerves, which seems to work.
"Thank you. And so do you," She smiles in my direction, which makes me smirk.
"Thank you... I always look good," I dramatically reply, which makes her roll her eyes.
"You're too overconfident." She states, which makes me chuckle.
"There is no such thing as being too overconfident... You gotta make yourself feel good, cause if you don't, people's views on you will make you feel like shit." I mutter, happy to see that the guards are no longer standing by the gates.
"You ready?" I turn to look at her, smiling when she nods.
"Don't worry too much... If or when we get caught, tell them we are together. It won't make things better, but at least you won't get in trouble." I assure her, hoping I make sense.
Serena and I grab our guns before leaving the car. We begin running to the secret back gate, happy to see that there are no guards.
We are at an estate in the country side. The place has a few buildings, but the manor stands out the most. It was build ages ago, yet it looks like a lot of modern buildings.
Serena and I sneak inside the manor, where I see a lot of men and women; all of them dressed in black.
It looks like a funeral, something that is very common.
Growing up in the mafia, I have learnt a lot of things.
Black is usually worn during these events because they are discussing someone's ending.
I remember seeing a lot of black clothes when I was younger, and sadly I got too familiar with the color. And it became my favorite.
"Viv, let's go down this hallway... It's less crowded." Selena whispers as we begin to walk in the suggested direction.
I'm no fool. I have been to this place more times than I could count, and I have memorized the entire building like the back of my hand.
The hallway will lead to the board room, and if I remember correctly, that's where the meetings are held.
I sigh in relief when I see no guards, which means that the meeting has already began.
The guards are usually in the main hall when such meetings take place. The things discussed inside are top secret and they are usually told on the day of the war.
But that also means that the guards are on high alert. They are the same people I saw a while ago and I'm sure they are ready for action.
"You do what we discussed, and I'll remain here." I tell Serena, who nods, walking towards the surveillance room.
She comes back a few minutes later, giving me a thumbs up, a sign that she has deleted a few things and that she has switched off the cameras.
The benefits of having a tech genius as a best friend are a lot.
I go to the door, sliding a recorder inside the conference room. The recorder is connected to my phone, so everything and anything being said will be saved in my phone. By the time they see and destroy it, everything will be in my phone.
I stand up from my leaning position when I'm done, a proud smile on my face.
My eyes close in horror when I turn around, my body colliding into someone. I know it isn't a wall because the place is very spacious, and walls don't move.
I mentally count in my head, opening my eyes with hesitation. I silently pray that it isn't Dad, cause I will get a long ass lecture about being nosy and about how dangerous it is to sneak into this place.
A breathe of relief escapes my lips when I see Azrael instead.
"It's just you," I mutter, wiping the sweat that graced my forehead.
"What are you doing here, Vivan?" Azrael whispers, looking around.
He pulls me to the side, hiding me from a group of guards that pass by.
"What I'm doing here is none of your business," I hiss, pushing him away with the tip of my gun, which has been in my hands this entire time.
"Oh, yeah?" He asks, which makes me bite my lower lip, wanting to leave this place.
My hand is raised, the gun pointing directly at him. I don't know what he is thinking, but I do know that he is not to be trusted; yet.
"A gorgeous girl like you shouldn't be playing these types of games," Azrael mumbles when I don't answer him, walking closer to me; fearlessly, might I add.
"You are suppose to be pampered; you aren't suppose to be doing shit like this," He says. "You shouldn't be in this place... It's too dangerous." He adds, looking into my eyes.
I get lost in his green eyes, not fully registering his words. I hate the guy, but his eyes... His eyes are intoxicating.
I want to drown myself in them. I want to stare into them for the rest of my li—
"Vivian!" Serena's voice snaps me out of my trance, making me break away from Azrael, which makes him growl, a sign that he is not pleased.
I clear my throat, stepping away from him, putting my gun away; a gun I wanted to badly use on him.
My head feels foggy, which makes me turn around, ready to leave. But Azrael's voice makes me stop before I can get to the door.
"You are a good person, don't allow yourself to fall into this life," His words make me chuckle, resulting in me turning to look back at him.
"I am not a good girl; I'm far from that. And I have already fallen into this life... I was born into this life, and I'm happy with it." I mutter, looking into his eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" Azrael questions, making me sigh, turning to look at the door, where I see Serena, gesturing me to run.
"Because bad girls don't get stitches." I answer, glancing at him before I begin to run to the door, hoping to not get caught.
