The Summoner is Going Chapter 172 part2
Translation: DarkHeartedAlchemist
Editor: Weasalopes
After some more time I happened upon a little hall.
On the left and right side of this hall are passages to what I assume to be branching pathways.
The whole room is illuminated by light, but the source of said light is nowhere to be seen.
But the most curious object was the statue in the middle of the hall.
Is that… a Buddha statue? Not exactly.
The armor it was wearing looks more like the one worn by the War Goddess Bishamonten.
In one of his hands was a small bag.
His face is that of an angry Buddha and his hair stuck out in all directions as if they were struck by lightning.
Looking at him up close, he kind of looks like one of those punk fashion representatives.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something about him is telling me that he’s bad news.
He kind of gives off the same smell as Deva King.
Generally, nothing obliges me to fight this guy. I can just ignore him and go home.
But I ultimately chose to go against him after all.
I strengthen my whole team with Gravity Mail.
When I approached the statue, a dialogue window appeared above its head.
《Punishment upon those who sealed me by the ire of the Wrathful God!》
《Eternal peace to those who shall be slain by my hand!》
《Come forth!》
《You, the brave fool who dares to undo the seal that binds me!》
《The time has come for you to show me your power!》
So it’s an event after all.
When the text windows disappeared, the statue began to move.
The battle has begun.
Meikira Lv2
Heavenly General Target Subjugation Active
Battle Position: Ground Wind Attribute
Huh? Who’s that?
That’s the first time I see a name like that.
I knew about Bishamonten and Deva King because they are famous among the players, but this guy?
Oh, it looks like he’s decided to bring some of his friends over.
Two magic circles appeared on the ground, and from them the new enemies emerged.
Rampaging Battle Cock Lv5
Demon Target Subjugation Active
Battle Position: Ground, Air Wind Attribute
Wow talk about some naming sense with this one.
Battle Cock, huh?
Yeah, looking at them, that sounds about right.
After all, they look like a pair of giant black roosters.
Unlike Kintai and Gintai, they are not as flashy.
But they definitely have this air of intimidation about them.
All right everyone, leave the big guy to me and go play with those two cocks.
…….
That sounded less weird in my head, I swear.
Meikira himself holds up a spear and charges towards me while his companions go towards my monsters.
Well, well, well, looks like someone’s fired up here.
But it’s the same for me, you know!
I’m not going to lose to some punk chump like you!
But you know what?
Fighting against spear users is always scary, no matter how many times I fought against such enemies.
It’s just that they have better control of the distance between themselves and whoever happens to be on the receiving end of their weapon.
Meikira’s spear is one of the shorter ones, but it does not mean that it’s any less dangerous.
The hilt itself has a blade-shaped protrusion shaped like a cross at the end.
So this is actually a cross-spear.
Avoiding its attack is going to be one giant pain in the ass.
Whenever he swings it at me I try to attack the handle in hope of knocking it out of his hands, but unfortunately it’s easier said than done.
This guy’s genuinely tough.
His next attack was a wide-area horizontal slash.
I dodged it by ducking under the blade as it was coming towards me.
Then he swung it at me from overhead, smashing a hole in a place where I was standing literally a second ago.
These attacks are all bad news, but the most dangerous one is still a simple thrust.
The time for it is so short that he can easily combo it with other attacks, making him all the more unpredictable.
Here it comes, his next attack!
Is this going to be a swing from the top?
Yes it was, and I barely managed to avoid it.
No, actually, I think the tip of his spear managed to graze me just a little bit.
It was a little frustrating, but now I finally had my chance!
I stepped on the part of the spear’s hilt that was the closest to the ground to hold him in place, took out Vajra Sword and slashed at him.
This time, the blade was covered with Fire Magic.
I haven’t tested this mode yet, I wonder how it is going to perform?
I managed to hit him directly on the wrist.
There was no counterattack right away, so I decided to press on with the assault!
But just as I was about to perform another sword slash, another one of his attacks came flying my way.
A lightning-fast right straight.
I didn’t even see the moment he let go of the spear to do it.
His punch was so strong that it blew me away and made me crush into a wall!
Just this one attack took out more than 30% of my HP.
This is bad, this is so bad!
This guy is strong!
If I wasn’t strengthened by my spells, that attack would have killed me for sure.
Meikira slowly walked up to his spear, picked it up and repositioned himself.
I did the same but standing up proved to be more difficult than I thought.
Okay, let’s try that one more time.
And I closed the distance between us.
My strategy hasn’t changed.
But I will probably have to go further beyond that to bring this bastard down.

I removed the enchantment from Vajra Sword and placed it back on my waist belt.
Meikira roared like thunder and charged at me with his spear held firmly in front of him.
「*ROOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!*」
「Enemy Burn!」
I strike him with an attack spell once he’s in close range.
There was no reaction from him at all.
As expected.
But it made him falter, and that was the opening I was looking for.
After backing up a bit to avoid another slash I have resumed my offense.
I think I know how I should deal with him now.
After I dodged his next attack, I grabbed his weapon with my right hand.
I didn’t mind that little bit of damage I’ve received.
What matters is that I was able to stop his weapon, enabling me to strike his wrist with my tonfa and slip between his feet.
I was aiming to topple him to the ground of course.
To do that, I latched onto his right feet, planted my own feet firmly into the ground and began to pull with all my strength.
This is not an enemy I can defeat by holding myself back, so once his enormous body hits the ground I go around him to his head and place him in a sleeper hold.
He didn’t look like he felt it at all.
But his continuously decreasing HP bar was another story entirely.
In order to speed up the process, I slightly shift the position of my arm in order to crush his throat even more.
At the same time, I tried to twist his neck, but it turned out to be too thick to do so, even with my STR stat.
Ah well, I’ll just have to continue to choke you until you die!
As we were laying on the ground like that, I could see how the rest of the monsters were doing.
At the current moment, there was only one Rampaging Battle Cock remaining.
Tigris and Loewe seemed to have taken some damage.
However, Mr. Rooster over there has less than 30% of his HP left, so he’s going to be dead soon enough.
Meikira struggles to escape from being choked, but now that I’ve got my hands on him I’m not letting him go.
He can’t escape me and he has no way to defend himself.
It took another while, but finally he was dead.
Yup, GG EZ, another weakling brought down by the magnificent me.
《Brave warrior who undid my seal!》
《Take pride in your victory!》
《For your great achievement!》
《I have acknowledged your strength!》
The dialogue ended here.
Okay, so now that the battle was over, gimme the sweet loot. Gimme gimme gimme.
But Meikira’s corpse disappeared without leaving anything behind.
You for real?
I even checked the places where the cocks fell, but there were no drops from them either.
Are you messing with me right now?
Such an encounter and no drops again?!
And I even went through the trouble of turning 【Dismantle】 off!
Looking back at the statue, it returned to its original location after being defeated.
So it’s just like Deva King then, it can be challenged as many times as you want.
Umu.
Don’t think you’ve won, one day I will return and challenge you again, and then you will give me every last one of your drops!
It’s gotten hellishly late.
I think it’s high time for me to return to the village for today.
In order to do so, I use the Instant Portal Scroll at the edge of the hall.
My storage should now be filled with a few days’ worth of meals.
From now on, exploring the paths that branched away from that hall should be my next order of business.
And I’ll have to buy some things for Nias, my newest Monster Summons. Especially clothes, so that people wouldn’t think that I’m some kind of pervert who enjoys the company of half-naked ladies.
Once I got back, I restored all of my party members back to full health.
Can I say that this was a very fulfilling expedition?
It could have gone better item-wise, but otherwise I can’t say that I have any reasons to complain.
Not to mention that my skill with the sword is growing, enabling me to fight stronger opponents more effectively.
I was reluctant about it at first, but now I can see that trying new things once in a while is not too bad at all.
With that said, I think I’m going to enjoy using the Vajra Sword for a little while longer.
