Alive

A word that gives me a point of view

Of someone who climbed on top of a mountain

The weight is not on their shoulders, but to the ground

They're standing tall, smiling, feeling like they can fly

Although that point of view isn't necessarily mine

As feeling like I'm dead is something truly divine

I feel as though it's imbedded in my soul

Happiness is something that's far away from my view

But when I heard those words "go where you feel most alive" only one thing popped in my mind:

You

Even when I can't move, I feel stuck at the bottom drowning in the ocean

You always pull me out from underneath the rocks

Giving me the breath I need to feel alive

And I smile

The things you do

The sound of your voice

It makes me feel as though life is endlessly beautiful

That happiness is eternal

The things you showed me with time

That there's way more to life than bottomless pits

The truth of hope and happiness is seen in your eyes

Being with you makes me feel alive
