Chapter 921: Dragon Carnival ⑦
Right as I finished greeting all four of the Four Great Demon Dragons, the earth shook and Magnawell-san appeared. Thereupon, the dragons that had been warming up stopped moving, and the ones that had been flying in the sky descended to the ground and knelt down.
Being much larger than Grandiereus-san, Magnawell-san’s physique is full of overwhelming majesty, truly befitting the king of dragons.
“……Umu, I appreciate the welcome. Raise your heads. The Dragon Carnival will be starting soon, so everyone make your final adjustments.”
When Magnawell-san announced this in a voice that sounded like it resounded from the heavens, the dragons bowed their heads and scattered to make their preparations.
After watching them leave, Magnawell-san turned his gaze to Lilia-san and me.
“Now then, I’m glad you’re here today, Miyama Kaito and Lilia Albert.]
[Thank you for inviting us today. Also, I’m sorry, but I was actually thinking of introducing Lilia-san again to Magnawell-san.]
“Fumu. Come to think of it, although we’ve shared the battlefield and met at your birthday party, I don’t believe we’ve directly talked to each other.”
[Errr, then, Lilia-san…… Are you alright?]
[Y- Y- Y- Yes, s- s- somehow……]
Exchanging light conversation with Magnawell-san, I turned to Lilia-san…… and she clearly looked so tense that she stiffened in place.
Standing all straight, her expression looked as if she reached tension MAX. It doesn’t look like she’s alright at all.
Holding Lilia-san’s hand to reassure her a little, she looked surprised for a moment before she smiled a bit.
[……Greetings, Dragon King-sama. My name is Lilia Albert.]
“I am Magnawell Baskus Lardo Kurtzvald. Being Miyama Kaito’s lover and a person of exceptional talent among humans, I have been curious about you. In addition, your Flying Dragon Flight has been taking care of my subordinates…… Therefore, just like Miyama kaito, I allow you to call me by my name.”

[It’s a great honor. I thank you from the bottom of my heart…… I will be in your care, Magnawell-sama.]
“Umu, together with Miyama Kaito, enjoy the battles of my followers.”
……Seeing him like this, I really feel that Magnawell-san is the most kingly among the six. When he isn’t in a formal setting, he looks like a friendly neighborhood grandpa, but around a tense atmosphere like this, he looks very majestic.
Anyway, now that Lilia-san and Magnawell-san’s introductions are finished, the Dragon Carnival is finally about to begin.
Rather, it seemed that the Carnival would start when Magnawell-san arrived, as the preparations were soon over.
The Four Great Demon Dragons also gathered near Magnawell-san. Meanwhile, Lilia-san and I will be sitting on the leisure sheet that Frea-san has prepared for us.
No, she did offer us to sit on a chair first…… but to be honest, chairs didn’t suit the surrounding atmosphere at all, so I decided to use a leisure sheet.
Magnawell-san did ask us “Do you want to watch it on my head?”, but Lilia-san would firstly feel obliged to do that…… and it was also too high up in the air for us to look down at the matches, so we just laid out a leisure sheet on a slightly elevated area to watch the event.
From a cursory glance, it looks as if several battles will be held at the same time, separated by location, rather than one battle at a time in order.
Four one-on-one battles…… a total of eight dragons descended on the open wilderness in front of Magnawell-san and faced each other.
[……Hmmm, I don’t know much about dragons, but from what you see, what do you think, Lilia-san?]
[It’s amazing! There are so many dragons that I rarely get to see, and it’s hard to keep my eyes off of them!]

[Ah, no, I was wondering if you had any predictions for who wins……]
[I- I see…… Let’s see. In the match on the right, I think that the black dragon…… Shadow Dragon has the advantage. They’re quite fast…… However, their opponent Dread Tail’s attack power is outstanding, so if even a single blow lands a clean hit, the scales might immediately tilt in their favor.]
[I see……]
[As for the match on the left, their battle is quite close, but the Feather Dragon that had bird-like feathers has an attack called Illusion Feather to confuse the senses of their opponent, so I think the battle would be settled whether the Feather Dragon managed to connect that attack or not.]
When I ask her about it, Lilia-san explained with glittering eyes, happiness clearly seen on her face. How should I say this…… I could tell that she was enjoying talking about what she liked.
She usually hides her love for dragons, thinking that acting that way would be unladylike, so I was happy to see her talking about it with such enthusiasm, as it proved that her heart had relatively opened up.
Besides, Lilia-san seemed to be enjoying herself a lot, which made me think that she’s relaxing nicely. Seeing her talking so happily makes me smile and I was glad that I had invited her.

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.
