Chapter 1269: 1269
Chapter 1269: Yang Liu the Refugee
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
The person who died was in the second step of the laws.
Ou Yangming knew him. This guy had also participated in the hunt for Ancient Demons in the ruins, and he was one of the first 5 people to enter the ruins.
Who knew, such a powerful human was powerless to resist at this moment.
Ou Yangming raised his head and looked. A red light flashed, and a young man in a red robe appeared in front of him.
The young man looked to be about 15 or 16 years old. His face was young, but his bloodthirsty eyes made Ou Yangming know that he was not that simple.
At this time, the red-clothed youth looked curiously at the group of people on the Swift Tortoise. He flew over and held the blood-stained spear in his hand.
“I’m sorry, that old fella won’t accept my challenge, so I ended up troubling you.”
The red-clothed youth looked at the headless middle-aged man with a slightly regretful gaze.
Very soon, he attacked again, kicking the middle-aged man’s body into pieces.
The people on the Swift Tortoise frowned together. This young man was too cruel. That man was clearly dead, but he still wanted to destroy his body.
Even so, no one made a sound. Where there were people, there would be fights. In an unfamiliar place, keeping silent was the best choice.
“Don’t meddle in other people’s business!” The young man in red raised his head. His expression was a little malevolent.
Ou Yangming ignored him and did not interfere in the matter between them. This young man was very strong. He should also be in the third step.
Now that Old Man, Ni Yinghong, and the others were all by Ou Yangming’s side, there was no need to stir up trouble for an irrelevant person.
Seeing that they were all silent, the youth lost interest. He sneered twice and disappeared into the void once again.
“This person…” Ou Yangming looked at the receding figure of the red-clothed young man and frowned slightly.
The youth was very similar to Ruler Ying that the Phoenixes’ great ancestor had mentioned. He looked young, but he was powerful, bloodthirsty, and liked to kill. Moreover, he wore a red long robe. Whether it was in terms of appearance or strength, they were about the same.
Nonetheless, Ou Yangming could not guess from the young man’s words why wanted to kill a human in the second step.
“Let’s go too.” Ou Yangming glanced at the person who was slowly descending in the void and said softly.
The Swift Tortoise flew down.
Outside Starlight City.
The Swift Tortoise’s body became smaller in the sky. Then, Ou Yangming and the others slowly descended from the sky.
Not far away, one could vaguely see the Seven Stars Mountain. There were not many powerhouses in this place, and the environment was quite good. It was very suitable for living and resting. The Yangming Villa was just a short distance away from the city gate.

2 guards stood upright in front of the villa’s gate. They were Rulers, and they could definitely be considered experts in Starlight City. Nevertheless, at this moment, they were willing to be small guards in the Yangming Villa.
They knew where their strengths came from. If they were in the Seven Stars Pavilion, they might never have the chance to break through.
When a group of people walked over, it quickly aroused their vigilance.
Once the 2 guards saw Ou Yangming in the crowd, they cried out in surprise, “Master Ou is back.”
As such, the 2 hurriedly greeted him, “Greetings, Master Ou.”
The 2 disciples from the Seven Stars Pavilion hurriedly bowed.
Their exclamations just now had been heard by everyone in the villa. In just a moment, dozens of people rushed out from the gate.
“Greetings, Master!”
“Master Ou!”
There were all kinds of titles. Ou Yangming smiled slightly and said, “You don’t need to be so polite.”
He pointed at the Yangming Villa and said, “This place is where I live in the Great Wide World. It’s a little small, but it’s still quiet.”
“It’s not bad. I quite like it.”
Ni Yinghong looked around. Although this place was inside the city walls, it was sparsely populated, and there was a small hill beside it. For someone like her who liked some peace, this was undoubtedly a very good place.
Ou Yangming introduced his companions to the guards in the villa. He pointed at Old Craftsman and said, “This is my grandfather. From now on, he’ll be the master of the villa. There’s no need to report to me about anything in the villa. You can just inform the old master.”
“Greetings, Old Master.” The people in the villa hurriedly bowed. To be able to teach a genius like Master Ou was not something that an ordinary person could do.
Starlight City was too small. The news about the Phoenixes had not reached here yet. Otherwise, the servants in the villa would be even more shocked.
Ou Yangming pointed at Ni Yinghong, Wu Hanning, and Bai Shixue, then he said calmly, “They’ll all be the hostesses of the villa in the future.”
“Greetings, Madams.” The servants hurriedly bowed.
They did not feel any surprise at all. Even a son of a wealthy family in a small city had 3 wives and 4 concubines. With Master Ou’s status, having only 3 of them was already too few.
The 3 of them nodded.
In front of the servants, they were still quite elegant. They were also the disciple of big clans and knew how to face such a situation.
“These are my friends and brothers.” Ou Yangming pointed at Wutong and the others and said.
The servants of the villa bowed again.
Ou Yangming waved his hand, indicating that there was no need to be polite. He glanced at the butler and called out, “Bai Cong.”
“Master.” Bai Cong took a step forward and walked out.

Ou Yangming nodded and said, “Get someone to clean up the house and prepare some food.”
“Master, don’t worry. I’ll do it right away.”
Outside the villa, the neighbors also noticed that Ou Yangming had returned and came out to watch curiously.
The master of the Yangming Villa was a legendary figure.
“The governor is here,” someone suddenly said in a low voice.
They looked into the distance and saw a delicate and handsome young man walking over.
“The master of the Yangming Villa has just returned, and the governor is already here to pay his respects. This is not an ordinary matter.”
“I heard that the master of the Yangming Villa is related to the sect leader of the Seven Stars Pavilion. Our governor is also a member of the Seven Stars Pavilion, so he won’t dare to be careless.”
Amidst the discussions of the crowd, the governor of Starlight City walked over alone.
“Greetings, Master Ou.” Ma Jiasheng bowed respectfully.
“Governor, you’re welcome.” Ou Yangming raised his hand and said, “Governor, you’re quite well-informed. I haven’t even entered the house yet, and you’re already here.”
Ma Jiasheng hurriedly said, “Master Ou, you came back from the city gate, and a friend of mine was patrolling there. He told me when he saw you, so I came to pay a visit as soon as possible.”
“Let’s go in and have a seat. We’ll stay in the villa and have some food tonight,” Ou Yangming said.
As the governor, Ma Jiasheng had been paying visits to Ou Yangming as a junior, so it was unreasonable for him to refuse him every time.
“I’ll accept it then.”
They entered the gate together, and Bai Cong led some people to prepare food in the kitchen.
In front of Ou Yangming, Ma Jiasheng was submissive. He was comfortable to be around, but he was also unavoidably a little boring.
Surprisingly, when the banquet had just started, Li Daoyi also came.
“Master Ou, the last time you left, I was in a closed-door cultivation and didn’t have time to send you off.”
Compared to when he was in the ancient ruins, Li Daoyi was more energetic this time. His eyes were as bright as the north star, and the aura on his body had increased a lot. It seemed that he had gained something from his closed-door cultivation.
There was another person beside Li Daoyi. Ou Yangming had never seen this person before, but he was also a powerhouse in the second step. His strength was not much different from Li Daoyi’s.
“This is?” Ou Yangming asked.
Li Daoyi chuckled and said, “This is my friend, Yang Liu. He’s a leader of a top sect, the Northern Blade Sect.”
“What leader? I’m just a stray dog that came here to seek refuge,” Yang Liu said with a bitter smile.
“Seek refuge?”
Seeing the sincerity in the other party’s words, Ou Yangming was a little curious. This was a second-step powerhouse, and he had a top-tier sect backing him. Who would dare to make things difficult for him?
The smile on Li Daoyi’s face disappeared, and he found a place to sit.
“Master Ou, you have no idea. Recently, a battle maniac has appeared in the Great Wide World.” Yang Liu did not look good when this person was mentioned.
“Oh?” Ou Yangming smiled. “Tell me about it.”
Li Daoyi said slowly, “Not long ago, a formidable person suddenly appeared in the Great Wide World. That guy looks very young, but his strength is extraordinary. He threatened to defeat all the powerhouses. He especially picked third-step powerhouses to challenge them. At first, we thought it was a joke. A young boy actually dared to challenge powerhouses of the third step? He must be courting death. Who knew…”
He paused for a moment.
‘Could it be that Infant Ruler?’ Ou Yangming thought in his heart.
This was not the first time he heard such a legend. He had heard it once from the Phoenixes’ great ancestor.
When Li Daoyi stopped, Yang Liu continued, “Don’t be fooled by his young appearance. His strength is frighteningly strong. The 2 powerhouses who accepted his challenge were defeated by him, and they were heavily injured. That young man also suffered some minor injuries each time, but he’d recover very quickly, and his combat strength would be even more astonishing.”
“Can’t the third-step powerhouses refuse to challenge him?” Ou Yangming asked.
“Refuse? Of course.” Yang Liu smiled bitterly and said, “If it was useful, I wouldn’t need to run away. The main reason is that that guy’s nature is cruel. It’s fine if you accompany him to fight but if you don’t, he’ll kill your family, torture your lover, and destroy your sect’s foundation until you make a move! My patriarch is on his invitation list, so…”
“That guy is so brutal!” Ni Yinghong frowned with a bad look on her face. “It doesn’t matter if other people accept the challenge or not. If he harms their family and slaughters innocent people who have no power to fight back, what kind of hero is he?”
“It’d be great if that person could think like you, young lady.” Yang Liu Sighed. He was under a lot of pressure. “That guy isn’t a hero. He is just a young boy. He’s bloodthirsty and brutal. He doesn’t care about these things. A few days ago, Ruler Yunzhong didn’t accept his challenge, he destroyed the Thousand Bulls Clan, which was the clan of the Ruler’s son. Now, the sect master of the Thousand Bulls Clan is still on the run. I don’t know if he can survive.”
“The person you’re talking about is probably dead.”
Ou Yangming said.. He slowly explained what he saw in the void.

The Apocalypse Show - Dungeon Core
There were lot's of ways that people had predicted that the world would end. A few even had it partially correct. But how could they have predicted it would be a combination of the system apocalypse and aliens. Specifially aliens that wanted to create the equivlant of a TV show about the system apocalypse on Earth. Arthur woke up with a headache and the option to create a character. Most people would have gone with the safe choice and selected to stay a human. Arthur suspected that wouldn't be the safe choice in his new world. Instead he decided to see what other races were available. Eventually he decided to become a dungeon core instead. Of course being a dungeon core comes with a number of challenges. Starting with the fact that he was a giant crystal instead of having a body, managing a bunch of unintelligent minons, and most importantly the reaction of his human neighbors when they discover him. If he can overcome these challenges he may be able to enjoy some of the benefits. Such as the fact that dungeon cores are immortal and he would eventually have an entire army of dungeon minions that would obey any of his commands. Perhaps even find some female companions that are looking for a safe place during the apocalypse. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, nudity, and sexual content. This isn't something you would find in the young adult section. This does not mean that this would be rated NC-17 or X, if that is what you are looking for try lewd dungeon.
