Chapter 783: Might of a Saint
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
The Clear Wind Sword had fully assimilated the entire Divine Blade Scroll’s teaching inside the Unending Nature Landscape. Its sharpness should be able to cut a profound immortal and even kill the target. Along with Tianzun’s sword enhancement spell to double its power, it was no wonder the Clear Wind Sword could slice through the heaven weaving spider’s web.
Instead of evading the Sword Energy, Yan Shenjun simply raised a deformed hand to block it.
Sounds of metal clashing reverberated and the Sword Energy shattered.
The Clear Wind Sword’s Sword Energy couldn’t cut through Yan Shenjun’s saint body.
But Lin Jin already knew that. He was only testing it out while firing a needle during the clash, hoping to use it to probe Yan Shenjun’s condition.
His reasoning was simple.
The saint’s condition aside, although Yan Shenjun was said to have the saint’s image now, those who didn’t know better would just think he was a monster who hadn’t fully mastered Transfiguration yet. He would probably be recognized as a snake monster, a half-human half-snake freak at best.
Since that made him a beast, the Museum of Deadly Beasts could surely appraise him.
Lin Jin was hoping to appraise Yan Shenjun with his needle to see if the enemy had any weaknesses he could exploit. It would be great if he got appraisal results, but even if he didn’t, he wouldn’t lose anything.
The enemy still had to be fought.
Yan Shenjun obviously didn’t know about Lin Jin’s plan. He declared cheekily, “Trying to hurt me with this flimsy Sword Energy? Lin Jin, don’t blame me for showing you no mercy since you’re the one who courted death!”
Having said that, he pointed forward and the Rank 8 heaven weaving spider pounced over.
Although Lin Jin’s strength had increased significantly, the Rank 8 heaven weaving spider was still a tough opponent. Up against an unfettered immortal level enemy, Lin Jin could only use Xiao Huo had he been fighting alone.

Even powerful experts like Miao Yan Zhenren and Xuan Yue Zhenren couldn’t match up to the heaven weaving spider.
That would end up occupying Lin Jin’s strongest combat force. If Lin Jin still had to fight Yan Shenjun in that condition, things would turn out horribly. Yan Shenjun himself was obviously stronger than the spider and Lin Jin was so much weaker in comparison. He was bound to lose.
Fortunately, Lin Jin had brought along the mightiest expert from the immortal era to assist him, Tianzun. Although Tianzun had now converted back to a mortal, his Rank 8 green fish was an authentic unfettered immortal level fighter. If the green fish transformed into a dragon, its combat prowess would exceed unfettered immortal level. Tianzun had even wanted to use it to challenge the immortal devouring beast.
Not only because he wanted revenge but also because the green dragon gave him that much confidence.
Hence, without Lin Jin having to ask, Tianzun had already invoked a spell. The green fish flew out of the water bucket and transformed into a green dragon to stop the heaven weaving spider.
“Thank you, Tianzun,” Lin Jin said. Tianzun chuckled in response. “The saint’s body will be challenging to defeat. Be careful.”
With the heaven weaving spider occupied, Yan Shenjun had lost his strongest general. Any other fights required him to act personally.
Lin Jin had noticed Patriarch Xue Pao who had been hiding in the back.
The situation today had changed. In the past, Lin Jin couldn’t match up to Patriarch Xue Pao, but the latter was no longer a threat. Without Yan Shenjun to shield him, Lin Jin could easily kill him in an instant.
Hence, Patriarch Xue Pao was truly a lucky fellow for being able to escape dangerous situations every single time.
But today, Lin Jin would not show Yan Shenjun mercy nor let Patriarch Xue Pao escape anymore. He would get rid of these potential threats once and for all.

Or they would give him more trouble in the future.
Lin Jin was tired of having these potential threats lurking in the dark. He would resolve them all today.
The needle couldn’t pierce through Yan Shenjun’s saint body but it was enough to appraise it. After reading the description provided by the museum, Lin Jin had an idea on how to act.
Just as he assumed, the saint was indeed a beast.
Only, it was incredibly unique. The saint of the past could maintain a snake and also human form. After he attained considerable cultivation and even achieved metamorphosis, he could take on a half-human half-snake form. What no one knew was that the saint’s body had undergone metamorphosis more than nine thousand times to achieve the appearance and mana it now possessed, according to the museum.
And each metamorphosis required an interval of over a hundred years.
No doubt, Lin Jin wouldn’t stand a chance against the saint. Even if Tianzun was at the peak of his strength, possessing powers stronger than the immortal emperor, he couldn’t match up to the saint too, much less Lin Jin.
Fortunately, Lin Jin’s opponent wasn’t the saint but Yan Shenjun who had used the Heaven’s Foundation Stone fragment to forcibly merge with half of the saint’s body.
In other words, not only did he have an unstable condition, Yan Shenjun could only use a very limited amount of the saint’s strength. Perhaps not even ten percent of it.
That being the case, Lin Jin still had a chance.
Now that he had a direction, Lin Jin didn’t want to waste time. Xiao Huo turned into a ball of flames and pounced at Yan Shenjun.
The latter scoffed and his body glowed with a golden light. His body doubled in length and he suddenly appeared in front of Lin Jin.
He was so quick that no one managed to react in time.
Even Lin Jin was startled. He looked up to see Yan Shenjun’s massive claw already coming down on him.
Fortunately, Xiao Huo was quick enough. He was also connected to Lin Jin by their blood pact so he used the remaining embers he left inside Lin Jin’s body to emerge and turn into a large flaming wolf head, taking a bite at Yan Shenjun’s claw.
They already had close calls right at the start of the battle.
The wolf head pushed Yan Shenjun a hundred feet away, temporarily relieving Lin Jin from a dangerous situation. Yan Shenjun reached out with another hand to grab the neck of the flaming wolf head.
The head was actually Xiao Huo’s clone, made entirely of flames. And since flames had no form, like air and water, they couldn’t be captured. Yet, as if Yan Shenjun’s claw had unique properties, it easily seized Xiao Huo’s clone and crushed it.
Crack! The flames shattered and fell to the ground. The shock wave from the impact forced the immortals to back away. Lin Jin also leaped a hundred feet further back in response.
Xiao Huo’s clone may not be comparable to his actual body, but it still had the strength of a profound immortal. Yet, it was easily crushed by Yan Shenjun, and that was enough to display just how powerful the might of a saint was. Although Yan Shenjun could only borrow a tiny amount of power, that power shouldn’t be underestimated.
By then, Xiao Huo’s actual body had rushed over to engage Yan Shenjun in a fierce battle.
Lin Jin and the others backed away even more to prevent from getting caught in the crossfire.. Also, the instant Lin Jin was almost executed by Yan Shenjun had startled the immortals so Miao Yan Zhenren and Xuan Yue Zhenren now stood on either side, sandwiching Lin Jin to prevent another sneak attack from Yan Shenjun.
