Chapter 784: Winning Strategy
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
After being refined by the Heaven & Earth Furnace, Rank 8 Xiao Huo had become so powerful that his usage of fire had reached an incredible level. Judging by the looks of the fight, it seemed like Xiao Huo had the upper hand.
However, Yan Shenjun had the saint’s body. Densely packed scales rose above his skin as a result. These scales couldn’t be penetrated by fire or water so he couldn’t be harmed by Xiao Huo’s flames at all.
This indestructible body was an issue as no attack worked on Yan Shenjun. He was also getting increasingly violent and his deformed claws could even capture flames. Xiao Huo may have the upper hand now but no one could be sure if this advantage would last long.
“Appraiser Lin, things aren’t looking well,” Miao Yan Zhenren said after noticing the problem.
Lin Jin noticed it too but he kept his composure.
“Appraiser Lin, why don’t we besiege him? Perhaps we might find an opening to eliminate him once and for all,” Xuan Yue Zhenren said.
She had an unforgivable grudge against Yan Shenjun. Unable to kill the enemy despite him being right in front of her, one could imagine Xuan Yue Zhenren’s impatience.
Lin Jin shook his head. “It will be useless even if we besiege him. Yan Shenjun has merged with the saint’s body and the saint’s body is indestructible. No attack will work.”
He had obviously discovered something just now via his needle.
Upon hearing this, the immortals were shocked. That would mean they had no chance at victory at all. Only failure awaited them.
Also, Lin Jin wasn’t lying because the immortals had heard of the saint’s capabilities before too. Ancient books mentioned that the saint only achieved saint status because he had lived for several hundred thousand years, experiencing the beginning of the world and countless catastrophes to achieve an indestructible body and phenomenal cultivation. This was common knowledge.

Even if Yan Shenjun could only use a fraction of the saint’s powers, they still couldn’t win.
Hence, Miao Yan Zhenren and Xuan Yue Zhenren fell dark at this because they knew that Lin Jin was right.
It was useless even if they besieged Yan Shenjun.
The Heaven Weaving Saint was way above Tianzun in strength. Even at the height of their powers, Tianzun and the immortal emperor couldn’t match up to him even if they worked together.
“But we’re not entirely out of options,” Lin Jin added.
This declaration of his simply struck the immortals dumb.
It sounded as if Lin Jin had a method to deal with Yan Shenjun, when neither Xuan Yue Zhenren nor Miao Yan Zhenren had any ideas.
Tianzun frowned and said, “Yan Shenjun and the saint’s body have now merged. Even if he can only use about a fraction of the saint’s strength, we can’t win.”
Tianzun had no ideas either and was quite skeptical about whether Lin Jin’s idea would work.
“Our target is Yan Shenjun and not the Heaven Weaving Saint. So we only have to separate their bodies and that’s it,” Lin Jin said without beating around the bush.
“Separate them?” The immortals were stunned.
That half-human half-snake freak was so powerful that every inch of his body was indestructible. Even Sword Energy and fire didn’t work on him so how did separating their bodies differ from just killing Yan Shenjun?
Only Tianzun further contemplated Lin Jin’s words.
As expected of a wise and experienced man. With Tianzun’s knowledge, he immediately thought of something after hearing Lin Jin’s hint.
“My friend, do you mean to say that Yan Shenjun and the saint’s body only merged because of some unique reason? Could a Heaven’s Foundation Stone fragment be involved?”
Tianzun knew about the fragments so he immediately realized it. In his opinion, the only thing that had the ability to forcibly merge something that shouldn’t be able to come together was the Heaven’s Foundation Stone fragment.

Tianzun’s eyes lit up, but then he thought of another concern.
“But even if we know this, how will we remove the fragment?” Tianzun asked.
He could figure out the theory but practical execution was another challenge altogether.
There was a huge difference between thinking and doing.
Tianzun initially thought that Lin Jin only figured out what they should do. However, Lin Jin even figured out how they should do it.
“Miao Yan Zhenren, Xuan Yue Zhenren, I will be dealing with Yan Shenjun soon. Although I’m somewhat confident, it’s still a risky attempt that allows no room for mistakes. Patriarch Xue Pao is still hiding over there so please kill or restrain him so that he can’t disturb me.”
Lin Jin wasn’t intentionally wasting time just now. He was calculating just how high a success rate his idea had.
Even though he had the idea to defeat Yan Shenjun, it was such a dangerous attempt that might end up costing him his life if he wasn’t careful enough.
The heaven weaving spider was being restrained by Tianzun’s green fish so they didn’t need to bother with it for now. Their only concern should be Patriarch Xue Pao, and Lin Jin was still apprehensive because Patriarch Xue Pao was such a cunning man. He might just pounce out of nowhere to ruin his plan so Lin Jin had to be thoroughly prepared. He had to consider all possibilities and eliminate potential threats.
Miao Yan Zhenren and Xuan Yue Zhenren didn’t object. After seeing Lin Jin’s pet beast, they knew that Lin Jin had already surpassed both of them in strength.
Even Tianzun heeded Lin Jin’s opinions so they wouldn’t possibly go against his instructions.
The two profound immortals immediately charged at Patriarch Xue Pao, and he, being a diligent fellow, knew that he was no match for these experts so he started escaping out of fright.
Now that the potential obstacles were cleared, Lin Jin took a deep breath before flying over to Yan Shenjun and Xiao Huo on cloud.
“Be careful!” Tianzun urged. He already guessed what Lin Jin wanted to do. Indeed, the saint had an indestructible body that only the Heaven’s Foundation Stone could penetrate.
In addition, no spell nor magic treasure would work on that body.
In other words, even if they knew where the fragment was buried inside Yan Shenjun’s body, they couldn’t retrieve it. But there was one exception. In the instant that someone else used the fragment’s powers, he could break open the saint’s indestructible body.
Tianzun already knew about Lin Jin possessing a Heaven’s Foundation Stone fragment. So in other words, only Lin Jin could personally destroy the saint’s body.
That was why Lin Jin went over.
This was indeed a risky attempt as Lin Jin had to get close to the enemy. In terms of physical strength, Lin Jin was far too inferior compared to Yan Shenjun, by at least a thousand times. If he wasn’t careful enough or was just unlucky, one could imagine what would happen.
Yet, this was the only way to defeat Yan Shenjun.
After thinking it through, Tianzun gradually turned solemn.
Just as he assumed, that was indeed Lin Jin’s plan. Only, Lin Jin didn’t know where his own fragment was hidden. What he could see was only the Museum of Deadly Beast born from the fragment.
So, he just had to open the Visitation Hall’s door and use the museum’s strength to fortify his attack. That should work.. It was the winning strategy Lin Jin came up with.

This is my first work and I will hopefully stay around for a while. I will try to finish or at least expand on this piece of work for quite some time, expect a few hiatuses in between though, still have a bit of schooling to do. Expected release dates will probably be once a week(not sure yet) after I stabilized the novel a bit as I'm still debating on how I should handle this. I prefer fleshed-out works compared to quick releases, but it also depends on how I'm feeling. I don't have a lot of confidence in my writing skills and I believe that my writing style is a bit weird, but I do want to try my best to tell a story that's worth telling. I will gladly accept criticism but please try to pull the punches back a bit! I'm still only human after all. Very excited to work on this, please take good care of me as I proceed on this journey with all of you! P.S. If you're going into my series, expect to see cliches sprinkled here and there. I personally love cliches and a few tropes! But, that goes without saying, I want to put my own spin on them. Be ready to feel the edge!!! Heh.
