Chapter 10.

Valoran enters the silver tooth guild with Tiara hiding behind him due to her lack of confidence due to her race as a succubus.

Entering the guild Valoran and Tiara see many: human, demi-human, elvish and demon adventures collecting payment, drinking together, and picking up new quests.

Valoran among the adventurers recognises two of them almost immediately.

“Ohh it’s him.” Valoran says with slight disappointment.

“H-Him…?” Tiara asks with curiosity.

“Yeah, I had an interesting incident with this adventurer.” Valoran replies.

Valoran and Tiara are approached by a fox-demi human adventurer.

“Hi there. Based on your uniforms I am guessing that you are from the Magic Academy.” She says with a welcoming tone.

“Yes we are both assigned to this guild to conduct a practical test” Valoran responds.

“I know. Our party will be the one to conduct your test. By the way, we know who you are Valoran Silver. I was impressed during the magic duels, I can’t wait to conduct your test.” The adventurer states with excitement.

“We also look forward to it.” Valoran says with a small smile.

The adventurer looks toward Tiara who still hides behind Valolran.

“Who might you be?” She kindly asks.

Tiara slowly emerges from behind Valoran.

“My name is Tiara. It’s nice to meet you” She says with a silent and shy tone.

“Hi Tiara. I am Alisia. It's nice to meet you as well.” She introduces herself with sincerity.

Alisia then changes the subject.

“Let’s head to my adventurer party in order for you to meet the rest of the group” Alisia suggests.

“Please lead the way.” Valoran responds.

Valoran and Tiara follow Alisia to the front counter where the other members of Alisia’s adventuring party are awaiting the arrival of the Students from the Magic Academy.

Everyone at the guild is staring at Valoran due to his display at the magic duels.

“It’s him.”

“He doesn’t look that though”

The other adventurers mumble to each other.

Valoran, Tiara and Alesia arrive at the front desk to meet the others.

“What luck do I have these days? Valoran asks himself with sarcasm.

“Oh no it’s you. I can’t believe that out of every Student we could have had it had to be you.” One demon adventurer says.

“I am also not in high spirits to see you.” Valoran replies.

The adventurer Valoran is currently engaging with, is the same Demon adventurer who has stopped Valoran and Artemsia on their way to the academy to specifically bad mouth Valoran in his face.

The demon adventurer walks up to Valoran slightly towering over Valoran.

“Haha. It seems I get to see your abilities first hand” The demon adventurer says with a cocky tone.

Valoran smirks at him and replies with: “Of course. And do not worry I’ll make sure to protect you” he says with a cocky tone of his own.

Another adventurer steps in to cool off the situation.

“Please stop fighting.” A gentle female voice can be heard.

Valoran looks toward the source of the voice and sees a blond human adventurer dressed in a robe and carrying a magic staff.

“My apologies. I will stop of course” Valoran states with sarcasm.

“Thank you” The female adventurer replies with a smile.

Tiara's body language screams fear and nervousness and she sticks by Valoran as she has nowhere else to go.

“Are you okay?” Tiara asks with her squeaky voice.

“I’m fine.” Valoran declares.

At that moment two more adventures appear to join the scene.

Valoran immediately recognizes one of them to be the other adventurer who defended Valoran against the demon adventurer.

The second adventurer is an elf and the leader of the adventurer party.

“Greetings you two” The elf speaks.

Valoran and Tiara both reply with: “Greetings” bowing their heads as a sign of respect.

The leader then begins to introduce himself and the others.

“My name is Alsitor. I am the leader of this party.” He says with kindness.

He then looks toward the human female adventurer who helped Valoran before.

“This is Sage. She’s the second in command and the scout of this party”

Valoran and Tiara nod toward Sage as a sign of mutual respect.

Alistor looks toward the blond human female with the staff.

“This is Cera, she’s our mage who mainly specializes in healing and fire magic”

Cera bows her head.

Valoran and Tiara do the same toward her.

Alistor looks toward Alesia.

You already met Alesia ( a demi-human) . Her role is close combat and tracking.

Finally Alistor looks toward the Demon adventurer.

“This is Egore. He’s the brawler and provides the muscle in our group”

Egore looks away in spite.

This however does not bother Valoran in the least.

“With the introduction out the way. Do you know the quest you will be participating in?” Alistor questions for reassurance.

“Yes. We are to take part in an exploration mission” Valoran replies.

“Very good. We are going to travel to a dungeon to explore for some valuable ore and other treasures.” Alistor replies.

Sage then involves herself in the conversation.

“This is our second priority. Our main objective however is to slay 25 goblins for 250 copper pieces” She explains.

“Seems simple enough” Valoran replies.

Tiara looks worried and Alistor has picked up on that, Alisor faces Tiara with a smile and says: “Don’t worry goblins are not that strong we will make sure both of you are safe”

Tiara looks at Alistor and is reassured and looks slightly relieved.

Alistor then tells them when the operation will take place.

“Tomorrow at 8 in the morning I want you to be here. Understood?” Alistor says with discipline.

Valoran replies with: “Sure we’ll be here”

Tiara nods in agreement.

“Alright then. Please make sure to get some rest. It will be a long day tomorrow.” Alistor states firmly.

Valoran and Tiara nod and make their way out the guild when Valoran hears a loud abusive voice toward his right.

“YOU ARE WORTHLESS. THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE IN THIS PARTY IS TO CARRY OUR EQUIPMENT” A angered deep male voice yells.

Valoran and Tiara look toward the source to see 4 adventures (2 human females, 1 elvish male and 1 demon male who is the leader of the party) face a young adventure ( a male elf).

“Please don’t kick me out of the party. I don’t know what to do.” The young elf begs in desperation on his knees.

The other adventures in the guild stare and some even laugh but don’t seem to do anything about it.

“HAHA. Don’t make us laugh, you are just a worthless and weak elf wanting to be an adventurer yet you possess no skills in the least” One of the human females speaks in spite.

“That’s not true. I-I-I am a great black smith…I-I-I can-” The elf speaks in despair before being interrupted.

“You can do what?...Make us some cheap swords?” The other human female speaks in spite and disgust.

The elf on the ground is speechless and doesn’t know what to say.

The female elf then begins to speak: “On every adventure we had to risk our lives to protect you. It’s for the best you stop adventuring as a whole and go into the blacksmithing business” She says with kindness.

“Yeah. Become a worthless blacksmith. Adventuring isn’t right for you weakling” The demon says in plain disgust.

The elf looks up and grabs and hugs the right leg of the demon adventurer: “PLEASE! Becoming an adventurer is my dream. I don't want to give up. I will get stronger please… give me another chance to prove myself.” He pleads with tears dropping down his face.

The demon adventurer is furious as he views this elf as a mere insect believing he has no right to touch him.

“HOW DARE YOU?! YOU ONTO MY LEG. I will teach you some discipline” He says furiously and in rage he is clenching his fist ready to strike the defenseless and scared elf.

He then throws the punch aiming directly for the young elves face when suddenly his fist is being grabbed by a hand wearing black gloves.

“WHAT THE?!” The demon asks in confusion.

The elf who turned away and closed his eyes due to the punch scaring him slowly opens his eyes and turns his head slowly to his left.

“How dare you?” A voice asks in anger.

The elf looks up, the demon looks toward the person who is still holding onto his arm with a firm grip.

The person who blocked his punch and saved the elf from more torment was none other than Valoran.

“Let go of me!” The demon demands in fury.

The elf who is still on the floor recognizes Valoran: “Wait, I know you…”

Valoran faces the elf on the floor: “It’s alright, you're safe now” He says with a calming tone.

“How dare you block my punch?” The demon once again questions in anger.

Valoran then faces the demon and the other three party members.

“How dare you? Stumbling upon someone's dream and calling him weak just because he lacks the knowledge and training is a sign of weakness. Or in other words it’s all of you being weak” Valoran insulting them with a smirk.

“WHAT DID YOU CALL US?!” The human females shout in fury.

Valoran releases the grip he has over the arm of the group's leader. Valoran directly faces the entire party opposite him just 3 feet (1m) apart.

The entire guild has fallen silent, tension has reached the point where breathing feels heavy.

The demon adventurer (Leader of the party) breaks the uncomfortable silence and tension: “You will regret that”

“It’s you who will be in regret if you dare to challenge me” Valoran responds with his eyes gazing upon them.

The demon furious charges at Valoran.

“AAAAAHHH”

He attempts to strike Valoran, throwing punch after punch.

Valoran dodges each punch with ease and elegance, almost being amused in fact.

“Too slow” Valoran replies with a condescending tone and a cocky smirk.

The two human female adventurers begin to cast spells to hurt Valoran.

“Let's use our best magic.” One of the humans declares.

They each form a magic circle to cast exert (explosion magic)

Valoran notices the magic being cast. “Fools. Casting two exert spells will put everyone in here at risk. Can’t have that” Valoran says toward them.

Valoran’s eyes begin to glow the same colors as the flames of nirvana (multi coloured flames).

At an instant both magic circles have been neutralized and the female adventures are powerless.

“W-What happened to our magic?” Both females ask in anger and confusion.

“It’s a new technique I have invented. It’s called Nirvana’s eye. One of its abilities is to destroy magic by destroying the idea of magic that I want to be destroyed.” Valoran explains.

“Let’s do it again!” One of the females yells.

They stretch out their arms to recast exert but realize that they can’t.

“What. We can’t cast magic?” Both females say in disbelief.

“Don’t bother. I have temporarily destroyed your ability to cast magic as a whole. I could permanently destroy it but I am feeling generous today.” Valoran says with a smirk.

Both females drop to the floor and sob in silence.

Valoran turns his attention back to the leader.

“Now. I will make sure you will never step on someone's dream ever again” Valoran says moving closer to the leader who is now dominated by fear…
