Stain seethed beneath the stands to the arena. It had taken him a while to even have someone with a similar mindset to himself infiltrate the school to plant bombs and his original plan had been tossed out the window. The cherub who was helping him cleanse all of the fakes had vanished half an hour ago too. The only one who wasn't a fake was All Might and he hadn't been seen all day!
"" Present Mic screamed aloud.
Stain cringed back as he rubbed at his ear. He mentally promised himself that if he can't kill the idiot to atleast ruin his vocal cords so he can't scream so loudly.
"" Present Mic screamed.
Stain huffed softly as he peaked out through the gaps in the seats and out to the stadium beyond. A small shark looking girl waddled out to the stage along with a slim girl with a purple hair and was casting the shadows of wings on the ground either side of her. An Angel?! A fucking angel was participating in this farce?! Stain mentally growled as he grit his teeth hard.
"Alright girls, I want a good clean fight, censors won't like it if we see any tits after all." The black haired harlot of a woman known as midnight chuckled. Stain merely glared at her, she was on his shit list right bellow Mt Lady, no hero should use sex appeal! "3! 2! 1! FIGHT!"
Both girls launched themselves at each other. The short one with quick steps while the apparent angel used her wings and tried to throw a punch at the short one.
"A!!!!!!!" The small shark like girl's voice echoed loudly through the air causing stain to wince back in pain while the purple haired girl dropped to one knee in pain and clutched her ears. "Ohno!" The girl squeaked before a invisible pair of wings sent her flying out of bounds in a single hit. "I AM NOT A BIRD! STOP MAKING ME FLY!"
"Winner by ring-out, Kyoka Jirou!" Midnight called loudly as she flogged the ground besides her.
"" Present Mic screamed.
"Obviously. Now shush you damned cockatoo." Eraserhead's voice was heard over the speakers in a exasperated tone.
"Up next we have the assassin of thorns herself Shiozuka Ibara!" Midnight called as Ibara calmly walked out onto the stage. In another world she may well of refuted the assassin moniker but with all she had done? She knew it was the least inflammatory thing she could be called. "And her opponent he's a icy heart throb, Shoto Todoroki!"
The duel haired teen paid her no attention as he clenched his fists while glaring at a spot in the stands. While many in the stands blew it off as the teen being arrogant and aloof, stain saw different, it was a look of defiance and following the gaze lead him to the man highest on his shit list, Endeavor.

"3! 2! 1! Begin!" Midnight called.
Ibara barely had time to react before the entire arena was encased in a glacier large enough that it was sticking out beyond the structure. Stain blinked before scoffing, no hero should use that much excessive force but given who the boy's father was it was a further mark against Endeavor.
"I-is that it?" Midnight uttered in shock as she shivered from the cold. The sound of cracking ice broke the silence before a large chunk of the glacier broke open revealing a painting Ibara, her vines were flowing around her like a mass of angry cobras as they speared into the ice. "AND IBARA IS STILL STANDING THIS IS A BRILLIANT DISPLAY OF SUCH YOUTHFUL ENERGY!"
The crowd went wild filling the air with a mess of cheers and hollers. Stain scoffed once more, show the masses some spectacle and they act like hyper children. The girl however showed some potential if only for her willingness to fight on despite the massive disadvantage. Indeed her arms and legs were showing signs of frost bite if the purple was any indication and her vines were clearly suffering from the cold yet still she launched herself at her opponent with determination that only All Might and maybe Mumen Rider seemed to possess. He was still 90% sure that Mumen was a idiot however given he punched an S class villian five or six times his size.
Shoto merely raised an eyebrow as he slammed his foot down for a second time creating a pillar of ice that slammed straight into Ibara sending the vine haired girl flying with a grunt of pain.
"Nice try." Ibara panted as her vines kept her just inside the ring. Her hand were balled into fists as she felt the cold start to sting at her fingers.
"!" Endeavor shouted from the stands. "USE YOUR FIRE!"
"I won't use your quirk!" Shoto growled in such that only Ibara heard him. Before she could process it another blast of ice was sent her way, this time targeting her vines, severing them from the ground followed by another blast right behind the first hitting Ibara in the legs sending her flying out of the ring as she landed painfully on her face.
"And that's a ring out folks!" Midnight called as a pair of stretched bots rushed out to collect the poor girl who hadn't even managed to land a single hit on her opponent.
"" Present Mic shouted.
"!" Endeavor screamed from the stands as he raised his fists in the air.
"Tch." Shoto scoffed as he made his way back to the stands to await the 2nd round. He'd prove his father wrong, he could win without using his fire.
"Up next, the Texan who proves you shouldn't grab bulls by the horns, Pony Tutsinori!" Midnight called loudly as the American student made her way out onto the field. "And her opponent, he's a manly youth with skin of iron it's Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu!...and yes that's his name."

"Come on pony, let's give this our all!" Tetsutetsu called with a large grin.
"Yes." Pony nodded with a determined expression. "Let us be kick your butt!"
"3! 2! 1! FIGHT!" Midnight called as Tetsutetsu's skin turned to iron and he rushed at pony. Pony however used her horns as platforms to fly out of the grey haired teen's reach as she waited the few seconds for her horns to regrow.
"And that is why you can't rely purely on brawn." Aizawa sighed from the commentator booth.
"Nah. I think it can go either way!" Present Mic called out. "You go you manly guy you!"
Tetsutetsu frowned up at Pony, he honestly couldn't think of a way to get her down. Pony meanwhile grinned as she fired off another set of horns right for her classmate.
Tetsutetsu yelped as he ducked under the horns. "Hey, you need to do better than that pony-san!"
"Hmff. I will beat you!" Pony replied as she fired off a third set of horns as the second set looped back around to Tetsutetsu. The horns quickly started wacking the teen on their flybys leading to him stumbling about as he tried to swat them aside. Unfortunately for Pony, Tetsutetsu had managed to grab one of her horns and used it like a bat sending the other horns flying right for her. With a Yelp she quickly descended to try and dodge the horns only to realise too late that she was now within grabbing distance of Tetsutetsu.
The silver skinned teen jumped right at Pony, grabbing her leg and yanking her off her horns where she slammed into the ground hard.
"Oh shit." Tetsutetsu gasped in horror as he stumbled back. Bellow pony's head a small puddle of blood was quickly forming.
"Pony is unconscious!" Midnight called, not having seen the blood.
"Get recovery girl!" Tetsutetsu screamed at the heroine. "She's bleeding!"
"Recovery Girl, priority one!" Midnight called upon seeing why the teen was so panicked as stretcher bots rushed out once more, this time with small sirens and lights blaring.
"And this is why I say this competition is illogical, students get hurt before they've had adequate training and villains are all but broadcast how to deal with them." Aizawa sighed as the stretcher bots carefully picked up Pony before rushing off for the infirmary where recovery girl was waiting along with several other medics present for the day's events.
Tetsutetsu meanwhile was physically shaking as midnight gently lead him off the stage. She remembered the time she had to do so for Yamada after he screamed loud enough to blow his opponent's ear drums and send them unconscious due to being hit with a electrocution quirk that fried the nerves in his arms for a few days. She never did forgive the blonde idiot for having her help him eat for those days either given he couldn't move his arms but he milked it for a week before she caught on.
"Technical difficulties folks, we'll be back in 10 minutes!" Present Mic called over the speakers, for once not using his quirk. He flicked off the microphones and pulled out his phone. Immediately he was texting Nemuri and recovery girl to ask for updates. While the two weren't in his homeroom he did have them for English and he and pony often got into debates during class no less over which was better, Dracula or the Wolfman. Tetsutetsu reminded him of how he had reacted during his first sports festival and he damned well didn't want anybody to go through the guilt he had.
In his hiding spot stain could only shake his head. These were the supposed heroes of tomorrow? All he saw were overpowered brats who didn't know their own strength. With one of his pawns useless without pre planting the bombs and the cherub off who knows where it was all down to him.
Above him he could hear one of his targets bragging loudly about how it must be the fault of 1A that the girl was hurt. Stain damn near had an aneurysm from the sheer stupidity of the kid. It'd be like if he blamed All Might for how piss poor the other heroes were!
The sound of swearing pulled him from his thoughts as he spies his second target above him, the blonde one who made explosions. He frowned as a device on his wrist beeped twice. The bug in the system he had his accomplice plant had been found and deactivated meaning he had about 40 seconds until he was visible to the cameras in the school again.
Taking out his katana he made a split second decision and swiped at the ground around him in a perfect circle before with several more strikes he started marking off a rune. He had planted several more like this across the city since according to the cherub the city was on a layline and therefore could conduct the ritual more easily to clean out all the fakes.
"What's that sound?" The angel asked above him as she looked around in confusion. "Sounds like scraping metal."
"Maybe it's the fuse of your Pomeranian rat of a classmate." The copy quirk user scoffed dismissively.
"" The explosive blonde screamed in anger as small rapid explosions not too dissimilar to firecrackers was heard.
Stain frowned in concentration as he etched the final part of the rune right as the intruder alarm went off. Realising he had no time left and that he was found out he took aim at the blonde in the stands above him. He held his sword upright and smashed through the seats, the sound of the blade impaling flesh filled his ears before red light filled his vision and dark whispers filled his mind.

Valor and Violence
Valor and Violence is a series of short stories following different, yet all equally colourful, characters set in the same world. Birth of a Legend, the first short, follows Captain Erskine Erwell, a newly promoted Captain in the Calandorian Royal Navy, charged with protecting his people from all who would do them harm. Great news for the Calandorian citizens, bad news for the Skjar reavers that ravage the shores in search of slaves. But when a small reaver fleet slips the net and escapes to the southern jungles of Marduk, Erwell must fight a war on two fronts; one against the raiders, and a far more difficult war against the hostile landscape. If he can't find allies in this strange land, he may end up being the one in need of saving. The first part of the second short story will be uploaded on Saturday, the 11th of June, following Ferez Ahud, an aspiring young battlemage charged with the unsavoury job of 'terminating' a rogue member of his college. But how this nobody of a mage became a fugitive remains a mystery, and when the answer is discovered, the tables are turned and the hunter becomes the prey. I'll be uploading chapters of more in-universe short stories each week or as close to, work permitting. Content Guidelines: course language and violence

Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet!
