Chapter 136

Brenna

Things Unsaid [Explicit]

Hearing the rustling and the splashing of water behind her, Brenna turned around to see an indentation in the water. Then after focusing for a moment, she let her qi sight spiral out the way Lykan had taught her and in a second she could see him. She could see the man who she had just seen get swallowed by an unfathomably huge monster. Seeing that he was alive, that he had somehow survived the ordeal caused a dam of emotions that Brenna had been holding back shatter and fall.

“You bastard.” She said, the only word she could think to express her anger at the amount of worry he made her feel. Anger that was quickly turning into relief, which was turning into fear of what might happen next. Her enhanced mind went through a wave of emotions so quickly that even she couldn’t keep up. But there was one thought at the core of it all. One idea that she knew she needed to say, to act upon.

Lykan, as stoic as ever looked at her with his piercing red eyes. Eyes that would have originally sent shivers down her back in fear, now only suggested one thought, want.

Moving forward her little legs pushed through the low surf of the ocean until finally she was within arm’s reach of Lykan. Then with one deft motion she grabbed his arm to pull him down, so they were eye level.

“Look, I can…” Lykan began, but he was cut off. Brenna knew he would make some comment about explaining about how he thought he was safe. How he would do even better the next time. Brenna knew him, just as she knew he wouldn’t change, at least not immediately. Still, that didn’t matter, the next fight didn’t matter, how he would internalize what he had just done wouldn’t matter. Right now, only one thing mattered.

Before she even knew what she was doing she attacked. Her lips moving quickly to strike and distract Lykan. Within a second their lips were locked. In the next breath, she breathed in his qi. It was fresh like the air and full of life. It was a crisp flavor that spoke of warm summer nights, much like the night they spent trying to find Mezrathurin.

Then before she knew it, she had cycled that breath and felt it get pulled back into Lykan. She opened her eyes for a moment, seeing that he too had closed his eyes in the exchange. Smiling contentedly, she let her eyes close once more and let the intimate moment build. They cycled qi together like this, first one breath, then two. Soon Brenna lost track of the number of breaths they exchanged like this, only feeling the power that grew with each breath exchanged.

Brenna almost expected the amount of qi to be exchanged in such a way to be less, to be reduced, but this wasn’t the case. Instead the amount of qi exchanged seemed to grow, not only in potency, but also in volume. It was as if while cycling internally, they were still able to pull the ambient qi from the world around them and add it to their exchange. Finally, they broke apart.

Panting.

They were both peak level warriors, both blessed by the gods with perfect bodies. Lykan had just spent close to an hour below the surface of the water, but here he was panting for breath after a few deep breaths.

They stared at each other for a moment. Then Lykan opened his mouth to say something, “oh…”

“Shut up.” Brenna said, as she tackled him.

Splash.

The sudden pounce and tackle were enough to cause the already off balance Lykan to crash to the ocean. There was a lot that she wanted to say, that she needed to say. But she knew that if she began speaking then Lykan would get too much into his own head and wouldn’t accept the moment for what it was.

This moment. This moment right here, this was her way of letting him know how much she cared about him. How much she worried about him. How much she needed him. Not just physically, though that was also apparent. No, she needed him in the way that her life would have no meaning now without him. He was her anvil, the heart of her very being. Someone so important that she couldn’t let him go, at least not without ruining the core of her being.

She had been thinking about the way to explain this concept to him. Over their many months she had grown attached to him. She also knew that he had many chances with women before but had always held himself back. That he had always been afraid of overstepping his boundaries.

Brenna used this knowledge to forge her own path. She knew that if she didn’t act, then Lykan would never take that first step on his own. He would always be too frightened of ruining what they had, never wanting to take more than what someone else would give. It was with this deep understanding of Lykan, that she decided to give herself. No, she wouldn’t just give. She would take.

Lykan’s eyes were wide, as he locked gazes with Brenna. It was clear that he was about to ask her what she was doing, which is why she stopped him.

The truth was, if she was forced to stop and answer she wouldn’t know how to answer.

Not fully.

Not in a way that Lykan would listen. So, she spoke on a more physical level, a primal level. She spoke on the level of qi and cultivation.

She straddled his long frame under the ocean. If he sat up fully, he would easily be above the waves. She locked him in place, with her powerful legs. Then she grabbed and held him close, before once again stealing his qi and cycling it into her. This time it was warmer, the energy being exchanged was more primal in a way.

Off in the distance Brenna could see the scaled sharks digging into the giant body of the leviathan. She could see dense waves of tightly compressed qi filled blood slowly washing out from the great beast’s body. There was enough qi in the beast’s blood to paint the whole ocean red. Brenna remembered this moment, this look of what almost looked to be a crimson sun rising over the ocean. A sun that was only revealed to be an illusion of light and happenstance.

She looked at the monster that had almost taken her Lykan. The monster that had swallowed her Lykan whole. She remembered that moment, the moment she felt completely helpless. In that moment she thought and swore so many things to herself. The first was that she would tell Lykan how she felt. The only problem was she had told Lykan how she felt, by her actions alone if not by her words. As good as she was about understanding him, she still had a hard time saying the words that truly mattered. This was why she chose this next step, this more intimate step.

Just as before when it was Lykan’s turn, he reclaimed his qi and more. Pulling more of the energy between them. Brenna used this moment to see that Lykan’s eyes were open and watching her. There was a moment of insecurity in those eyes. She could read so much from his body language, from his posture, from the way his eyes scanned her desperately. It was because of his eyes that she did what she did next. She felt empowered by his unspoken thoughts, from that deep connection that they shared even now.

She moved her hands down along his body. Her fingers tracing the lines of muscles across his chest, stomach, and lower. With grace and fluidity that only came to her recently Brenna began unfastening his nearly threadbare clothing.

Lykan opened his mouth to protest, but Brenna gave him a warning glance not to ruin this. The gaze said I am still mad at you. Simultaneously she also used the moment to steal his qi, to steal his very breath from him. The breath he was about to use to ruin this moment.

Within moments he was free of restraints. Brenna used this moment to break their embrace. Then standing up, Brenna towered over Lykan. At least she felt that she towered over him. Even with her small frame and his sitting up he was still close to her height. This of course didn’t matter.

Lykan opened his mouth, but Brenna stopped him with the placement of one finger to his lips. Then when their eyes locked, she shook her head no. This was no time to ruin a good thing. Then with newfound grace Brenna let her own clothes fall into the water. A quick step, and she too was like every creature in this ocean, free and without restraints.

With her body now free she dropped slowly. Her hands going down to find him, while her lips locked onto his once more. The entire time she held his eyes in a vice like lock. This was the gaze of someone who saw what they wanted and would not stop until they had it. This was the same gaze Lykan had when he went out to hunt the leviathan. The same gaze he had on every major hunt they had shared together.

Brenna brought that same intensity that he had shown on his hunts here, to this hunt.

Not wanting to delay the inevitable she joined with him. What felt like fire and ice combined filled her as new pains and sensations flooded her body.

Gasping.

Brenna couldn’t help but take in a deep breath. A deep, wonderful breath as she let her body adjust.

Lykan opened his mouth, but a quick glare from Brenna followed by a shake of her head let him know not to speak. Instead, she just buried her face into his shoulder as she let her body adjust to the waves of sensations that were flooding her. Then finally after a breath, the time it took to fully cycle her qi, she was ready.

Then she began to move.

As she moved, the qi within her body ebbed and flowed.

A quick pulse. She moved back and felt qi flow from her back into Lykan.

They were slow, awkward movements at first.

But once their qi started to get involved, the actions became more graceful, more coordinated.

After a point it was a matter of listening to their own bodies, their own circulation of qi that led to the buildup.

Just before Brenna reached a peak of cultivation, she leaned forward and kissed Lykan once more. There, just like before they cycled qi again. It became a game, a slow give and take of qi, while one would transfer the motion of qi below, the other would do so from above. Thus, it was the cycle, yin and yang, give and take that moved them to the next stage. Not just the next stage of their relationship, but also the next stage of their cultivation.

The more they moved and shared, the more their bodies began to move and beat as one.

Brenna felt constricting in her body, as her core felt qi pressures build up inside of her.

She fought the sensations, trying to clamp down on the feelings, but eventually the sensations were too much. She felt her whole body beginning to convulse, only afterward did she realize that Lykan too experienced his own form of heightened sensation.

She broke her kiss to look back to see how Lykan was doing. He looked like she felt. He looked tired, exhausted, and overly excited to continue. Seeing him and his youthful face made a smile come to her lips as she leaned forward and kissed Lykan multiple times. There was no stealing or exchanging of qi in these quick embraces. No these were the tingling marks of someone who was truly thankful.

“Thank you.” Lykan said, after a few moments.

Waves crested over them, as they sat there in the surf of the ocean biome. Brenna could already feel salt and grime clinging to her, but that didn’t matter.

“We’re not done yet.” Brenna said, with a smile as she leaned forward and began round two of their intimate qi cycling.
