《Chronicles of Kyr》Book Two: Chapter 41 Low stakes Tag

“With both teams here you may now begin. Team A wins by capturing the princess. Team B wins by either incapacitating all their opponents or the one our time limit is reached. The goblins are allowed to be killed as their owner seems to be able to revive them.” The headmaster said from the top of the walls.
“Kyrion, wake up!” Max shook Kyrion.
Kyrion did not respond.
Bella picked the unconscious Kyrion up and began shaking him. There was no response, so she dropped him and started going forward. “Doesn’t change the plan much. Let’s go, Max. To the side entrance.” Bella began to run ahead as her body elongated, growing in size. Her clothes melded into her body as fur covered her, and she fell onto all fours. Her head soon became that of a wolf’s, and her hands and feet became claws. She moved quickly and quietly.
Snickers, the mastiff, was now unbothered by being called a runt because, compared to that, he was. Still, the dog made sure not to be too far behind.
Max watched as his ride left him and continued to jog after them, surrounded by his squad of hobgoblins, who seemed to be moving in a defensive formation.
Brion stepped out of a set of double doors, his body covered by a suit of steel armor, his long greatsword held in his hands in a counter stance.
Next to Brion was the golden-armored Amadeus, who wielded two sharp golden daggers. The world around them seemed to boil with power.
“Oi Kyrion. It would be really nice to have that distraction right about now.” Ander said through his teeth.
Amadeus charged forward at the speed of sound, a fist raised to take Ander out of the fight.
Ander dodged inwards and slammed his armored opponent with the shaft of his spear powered by a healthy amount of wind mana. Which launched them through the air.
The two daggers flew at the unconscious Kyrion.
Ander kicked their team leader in the side, which caused him to roll out of the way. Sadly a blade did manage to cut into his leg as it passed.

“Oi Kyrion, wake up! The test has already started!” Ander then tore off his green bandana and wrapped his leg in the cloth to stop the bleeding.
Bella entered the side of the building only to immediately have to dodge out of the way of a white dart made from light.
“How did they know we would come in here?” Bella seethed as she shifted to a monstrous
bipedal form. Her brown fur became pink, and her body became slightly more defined.
Snickers bounded into the room and continued forward, dodging the darts with ease.
A wave of light came next as Tiffany slashed and Snickers dodged by hopping onto the wall and then hoping upward again into Tiffany.
“Doggy! Drop!” Bella increased the weight of the reasonably sized mastiff, and it seemed to gain in power as it came down.
Tiffany evaded the attack and moved forward when the ground was hit by a heavy object that shook the ground.
Tiffany slipped and was compensated by an open palm strike to her stomach.
Rolling with the attack, Tiffany readjusted herself as she eyed her opponents. “Didn’t know you were that strong.”
“Girl, we’re just getting started.” Bella cracked her knuckles, and Max finally made it to the building, his body tired from the running. The hobgoblins were unimpressed.
“Ohh… My ribs he kicked me in my ribs… Now I’m covered in sauce?” Kyrion awoke, removing a slab of wrapped emergency pork ribs that he kept over his ribs in his robe. To keep them warm and protect them from those who would steal his food in his domain.
Kyrion realized that he was covered in blood. He ate his emergency ribs plain, after all. The sauce just gets everywhere, and he’d instead not stain everything he touched. So Kyrion washed himself clean of blood with a thought and unwrapped his ribs.
“Hmmm… They’re safe, but I probably shouldn’t eat here. But… I do feel quite peckish.”
Upon sitting up, the boy watched as Ander took on Amadeus as Brion steadily approached. He watched the exchange go on for a few minutes as he ate in peace. Ander hadn’t used any lightning. In fact, it appeared he was using minimal mana as well, but one of his legs was injured.

Kyrion got to his feet and pulled out a blue potion. “This should help.”
Pressing both of his feet to the ground, Kyrion leaped forward, also breaking the sound barrier. As he began to chain jumps and fly into the fight. Unfortunately, as Kyrion handed the potion to Ander, he slipped. His body spinning as his head crashed into the stomach portion of Amadeus’ armor. A loud crack could be heard as a layer of gilded armor fell to the ground.
Amadeus was on their back. The wind had been knocked out of them. Trying to steady their breathing.
Ander took the potion and found shelter behind a boulder where he could drink it in peace. The cut on his leg healed instantly.
Kyrion didn’t budge as Amadeus climbed back to their feet.
“That was a cheap attack, Kyrion. But now you’re too weak to fight.” Amadeus brought their golden greeves down on Kyrion’s head.
Kyrion rolled out of the way and then back onto his feet. His body swayed as his vision straightened.
“You’re pretty quick. But can you dodge this?”
Kyrion blocked the next attack with an open hand and drew Anesthesia from his domain with the other. “Don’t need to. Your punches are weak and predictable. Maybe you aren’t using your abilities properly.”
“Ahhhgg!” Amadeus coated both of their fists in explosive mana and began to attack faster.
Kyrion kept dodging the strikes even as the air where they passed seemed to heat up. The air also seemed to gain a weird smell.
“Ignite!” Amadeus threw a punch so fast that it created a spark, and that spark erupted into a large fire.
Kyrion was too late when he jumped back, guarding his body with his weapon.
His skin blistered and burned and a whole layer of skin seemed to redden.
“My eyebrows, Not again!” Kyrion screamed as his body was repaired just as quickly as damaged.
“You just had a layer of skin burned off and you complain about eyebrows. How vain are you?”
“Do you know how hard it is to grow eyebrows purposefully? I’ll have to spend twenty minutes trying to get them to look like they used to!” Kyrion lied as he retreated, giving Ander some distance.
“Get back here!” Amadeus reappeared next to Kyrion, this time attempting to sweep his legs.
Kyrion hopped over the sweep and ran up the air like he was going up a flight of stairs.
“Get down here and fight me!” Amadeus bellowed.
“No chance! I’m going to the roof to steal your princess!” Kyrion was, in fact, headed towards the roof.
“Suit yourself.”
When Kyrion landed on the roof, a trail of flame led straight up the building where Kyrion had landed. Moving at a speed that was much faster than what was shown previously. A highly powered fist hit Kyrion in his gut.
The punch knocked Kyrion off his feet, and the explosion pushed him off the roof.
Kyrion sped up his thoughts as he fell, looking for a way to profit from this attack. He found it half a second later when he contorted his body and pushed himself through a glass window. Breaking it with ease and landing uninjured.
There was no one in the room, so Kyrion closed his eyes and opened up his senses, confirming that no one was in any of the side rooms. Kyrion locked and slammed the door before he stepped into a space between his domain and this one. Using it to slip into another room.
Using his now-hidden position, Kyrion erased his presence and looked at his wounds. The power was definitely turned up quite a bit for him to still have any injuries. However, the burns healed, and the damaged skin fixed itself in moments.
With a punch, Amadeus destroyed the door before leaving the room to find the missing target. Speeding past the one Kyrion was currently in. They could have unlocked the door as it was locked on the inside, but it seemed that person lacked common sense. Or they just hate doors.
