《Dungeon of books》Birth of an Eladrin - Chapter 48

Pov - Umbra
I have no idea what to do to make this workout! What limiters can I put in place for me to actually be able to make an Eladrin. They're S- rank monsters, for god's sake! Maybe I can, but I just don’t have the skill to create one now. So what can I do? AAH! Letting in a few breaths of unnecessary and imaginary air. I’m able to calm myself and think about this more properly.
Alright now, let's think about this instead of how I’m narrating myself. I’m going to have to make her level one of course because any higher would be exponentially more difficult and that is not needed for what I have to do. Why a girl, you may ask because… I just want to, and it seems relatively fitting, alright. Anyhow, I’m also going to have to make all her skills level one because high-level skills pose the same problem I guess, I really have not done any testing on this, I’m just theorizing here. If I were to do the testing to find out if what I believe is true, that would leave me open to a wandering adventurer or their group finding this mess before I can do anything about it. Sure, it is not the end of the world, but it still is undesirable. So I have to do it here and now without testing. Here it comes good old stress, you were also the best motivator for my lazy self. So let's dive in. Wait, I’m jumping the gun here, a failure would set me back a while and with how slow my Mana generation is, there would be no way to make another one before the next party of Adventurers come in. Let's see what else I can do to make it easier for me to complete this. She is already level one in everything, so she is like a newborn… Wait, I can make her a child, I can do that, right? Sure, I don’t know how long it takes an Eladrin to become an adult and all, but with her around I can just fix things up quick. She does not even need the ability to do so at this time, I just need her to exist and take the credit. It's a great plan without flaws if you ask me.
The Eladrin do change based on the season like any other plant, so I’ll just set her to be in spring, for now, I believe that is what the Demi-plane current season is? First, an Eladrin looks pretty close to a human, so I’ll start with a female human child. I’ll make her skin color that of freshly grown moss glistening in the morning due, and I’ll also make her hair the color of leaves glimmering under the moonlight. So now that she has light green skin and dark green hair I’ll have to give her a haircut, I don’t claim for this to be my specialty by any means, but I’ll give it a try. Let's give her short-cut messy hair… It kinda looks like a bush. I’ll just stop here, she can style it herself. Let's move on to more important things, like elf ears. Shaping her ears I make them long and pointy, that doesn’t quite feel right, so I will increase the length of her ears once more to the size where it is barely above her head, not her hair but just her head. I think that looks good at the very least. I should also get her something to wear, she is kinda naked. So I begin to make a tiny dress out of leaves, vines, and some other things, I’ll be honest here, I really have no idea what kinda plants I’m summoning to make her dress it is kinda just happening, so I’m not going to question it.

Taking a step back, I look at the Eladrin in the making. I would say she's an Eladrin, but she's kinda just a green human with long ears. So I’m going to have to give her what makes an Eladrin, an Eladrin. I have no idea what that is though, luckily I know a knowledgeable Fae, willing to help. I bring my consciousness up to Akasha, who I have not visited for a long time now that I’m beginning to think about it.
Welp, let's see how this plays itself out. With a simple effort of will, my Consciousness is up there with Akasha who almost immediately gets to saying, “So you come back to me when you need something. Do you know how bored I got with nothing to do except read? Which is not a bad thing, but I just got into this whole new world of creating creatures, and I’m the first one to document these kinda things. Do you know how much I wanted to write a book about things that were never written about before? Practically everything has a book on it, so this is my chance to venture down a path no other has gone down! Do you understand how great of an opportunity this is, and you're just squandering it!”
Man, she is heated, I guess I did leave her out of most of it, but you can’t blame me there were cooler things to focus on like… Well, I’m sure there's a reason. So how should I ask my question and repent? Hmm. Just as I was thinking about how to get my way in the fewest steps, Akasha says while holding a fancy book, “This is what you want, so don’t bother apologizing when you don’t mean it.” Wait, is she a mind reader or something, “No I’m not a mind reader, you're just forgetting about the soul corridor connecting us!” Man, she is angry, but at least things seem to be going well for me.
As I get ready to leave back down into the Demi-plane, Akasha calls out for one more in a tone that brooks no argument, “Promise me that next time you do something interesting, call me, so I may document it! You got that! And look at me while you say it.”
Without knowing when I seemed to have looked down on the floor like a child being scolded by their parents. So I look up with some perturbation and say, ‘I Promise that next time something happens, I will call for you.‘
Being let go from her fury, I let out a deep sigh and begin to move back into the Demi-plane. Though it is going much slower, for some reason, and just as I’m just about to pop down when Akasha then yells one last thing, “And get some damn books in this so-called library!”
I really must have ticked her off this time because she is usually the fanatical calm type, which is far scarier in some circumstances. Though she was pretty scary this time, so I’m glad that I’m out of that place for the time being. Now, then, let's dive into this book. Now what is this book, let's see the title is, [Dissection of interesting Beings] and this book is by [Mad Scientist, Tom] What an unimpressive name, where is all the originality, and who the hell calls themselves a mad scientist? Ah, I get it, he is in a faze like a teenager. Oh, wait, look it's a signed addition… Did Akasha really find this person and ask them for an autograph, wait, why can I see the scene going down in my mind? No, don’t get distracted, let's see where is the Eladrin section in this book is. Oh, this makes it easy there is an index, let's see page 5103. There can’t be that many pages, I begin flipping through the book in confusion, yet against all the laws of physics I know, when I quickly arrive at 5000 pages, and I’m just staring dumbfounded at this point. There must be some sort of space distortion that I’m not even going to bother figuring out at this time, let's just get to work on the Eladrin. I also keep the page for dryads in my mind to see what I can mix in from that side to make them more connected to my forest.

Let's see first thing first, Eladrin don’t have a regular blood circulation system but instead has this sap-like substance that travels through the roots weaved within the body that serves as both the nervous system and blood vessels. Oh, wow these roots not only serve those functions but thanks to their skin being extra malleable and open for absorbing multiple things, that is not all because thanks to roots connecting to the skin in most viable areas, there is no longer a need for the lungs and heart since it is all taken care of by this process. There really is no need for a brain either despite them still having it for some extra processing power, but in the case of that being destroyed the root can also act as one. Their eyes are also the color of the season they're in for no discernible reason except being aesthetically pleasing. There are also some small and thin retractable roots down near their feet that connect to the rest of their nerve system allowing them to not only sense vibrations but also allow them to do a short distance space hop by actively placing some Mana in them and engraving their will to teleport to that location. I do say this is handy, so let's just quickly add these changes.
It was quite easy, I don’t think I have a great memory but when it comes to creatures and such I just can’t seem to forget them it. This is quite nice and makes my work far easier. Since I remember practically everything the book told me, I just let that knowledge and my own will guide me to the completion of the second most important thing inside an Eladrin body. The most important thing inside an Eladrin body is an orb-like object that rests near the center of the Eladrin, which allows them to be influenced by the concept of the seasons. This gives them their weird form-change shenanigans that happen each season. Though I’m not going to add this just yet because there is another orb-like object I need to create. There is one in the dryad section that is called a funnel of nature. This orb allows the dryad to become one with their respective forest by spreading their soul, I think, across it. This gives the dryad the ability to use nature magic that can not only heal the forest but also allows the dryad to connect to the consciousness of the forest. There are also a few other little things, but I know that I have what I need in general so let's quickly add those things in a bulk change. Now let's get to work on those two cores.
I begin the process of fusing both cores, and they pop into each other far too easily. This is far too suspicious to be a coincidence, someone should probably figure out why they connected to each other far too easily. Sure, nature and the seasons change each other all the time, but would that truly be it? Oh, And that someone is definitely not me, I have far too much nonexistent work to do. Now, where should I place a big round object that looks vaguely like something that I should not gander at for too long? The place for the heart you may ask, and sure there is a spot for where this is supposed to be in an Eladrin, but following the rules to the tee has never been fun. So let's just place this behind the sternum, middle-upper chest for you simpletons. This is probably the best time to also mention that their bone makeup is similar, but not exactly like a human's. First, theirs is far harder, flexible, and just overall better if you ask me, they're just better than humans if you look at their race rank.
I’m stalling because I’m stressed out. If this does not work all my work will be for not and that thought scares me but like the average member of a dystopian society like myself, we just keep on pushing ourselves into the ground. I could have maybe thought of a better analogy, but let's just do this. No more words need to be said except those ones.
