《My famous boss (gxg)》Chapter 59

"So? Mind telling me why you're here?" my good friend Timothy asks.
"I have a promise to fulfill" I say as I sit down in a chair
"What kind of promise?" He asks smiling at me.
"Just a small one." I say
"Where do you want it today?" He asks
"How about on my forearm?" I ask him and he nods
"Good choice, do you have a reference photo?"
"Just draw the best arrow you can." I say and get comfortable in the chair.
In only an hour my tattoo is complete. Renner is going to love this. I pay and say goodbye.
As I'm driving home I get a call from Scarlett.
"Hey, whats up?" I answer
"Oh nothing I just wanted to see how you are. I know it's probably dark out there." She says
"Yeah, it's only 9 pm." I say checking the watch
"So what are you up to?" I ask her.
"I just got back home. I was out on a run. Wouldn't hurt to get back in shape." She says opening a door of some kind.
"Eh, I guess you're right."
"How was your day out with Rose last week? You never gave me feedback." I ask her
"Well I didn't think you'd want to hear all that."
"Hey, as long as it concerns either you or Rose, I want to hear about it." I say trying to reassure her
"Okay so here's how it went." She said and preceeded on telling me all about the change of plans that they did last minute. I arrive at my house but I stay in the car. She'll hear my shuffling and she'll want to stop. And I'd feel bad if I interrupted her. After she told me all the details she breathed out, she was talking fast and it was the most adorable thing I've ever heard.
"Sorry that took too long." She apologizes.
"Hey hey don't you apologize, it was perfect."
"How come you make my mood better by just being there?" She asks
"I don't know how to answer that. I guess I could say I'm charismatic?"
"What does that have to do with any of this?" She asks laughing
"I don't know." I say and chuckle to myself.
"How was your day?" She asks
"It was okay. Considering it's Saturday evening I am not too tired." I say.
"Did you fire anyone today?" She taunts.
"No." I say rolling my eyes.
"Hey, I'm just messing with you. I never knew you hated firing people so much." She says
"It's worse than hiring people." I say
"It takes a toll on me because I feel like I ruined someone's life because of it." I say
"Well you didn't do anything there. They did it themselves. I know you wouldn't fire someone just because." She says

"I guess you're right."
"I'm always right." Pfff yeah right
"Whatever you say."
"Are you home yet?" She asks
"Yeah, I am." I say
"When did you arrive I didn't hear your car or anything." She says
"I'm sitting in my car. In the driveway."
"For how long?" she asks
"I don't really know." I lie. I've been sitting here for over 20 minutes. I don't want the phone call to end.
"Do you have any plans for October 16th?" She asks
"Yeah, hosting my annual party for the company and the foundation and later then getting wasted over cheap whiskey." I say
"Oh Lena.." she trails off.
"Please don't pity me."
"I'm not pitying you. I feel bad."
"Thats exactly how it starts. First you feel bad, and then you start saying 'poor Lena' or whatever."
"Hey hey I am not pitying you. I care for you asshole." She says and I smile at that.
"Do you want to fly over there? I can drink with you." She says
"Don't you have a film to shoot?" I ask her.
"Yes I do, but I have priorities darling." She says and I blush like an idiot. I must have stayed quiet for way too long because she got worried.
"Hey, are you there?"
"Yes, I'm here." I say smiling
"I miss you." She says all of a sudden.
"And I miss you, I can't wait to see you again." I say
"You can always come over here." She teases.
"And then fly back in a week? You do realise the 16th is a week away?" I ask her
"Damn, I didn't think of it that way. Time just flew by."
"It sure did."
"How's Richard doing?" She asks
"He's okay. He's handling it better than I am. When I walk in I am going to get pestered with sweets and treats because he's been cooking non stop ever since she passed. He doesn't leave the kitchen for hours a day." I say
"Well that isn't too well Lena." Scarlett says.
"We all grieve differently. As long as he is not hurting himself or others in any way, I will support him." I say
"I'm glad you're there for each other." She says
"I am too. He's the only family I've got left."
"Don't you have your Uncle and Aunt?" She asks
"I do, we're... we're just not that close. I mean they should be important to me. But, I just can't seem to like them enough."
"Thats fair I guess." she says
"Can we change the subject?" I ask drumming my fingers on the wheel.
"How about you go inside?" She asks
"I'm comfy here."
"You're weird." She says giggling.
"I know." I say and lean back in my seat.

"I miss your touch." She whispers
"What do you mean?" I ask caught off guard.
"I miss your hugs and your kisses. I miss everything about you. Your presence, it just calms me." She admits.
"I didn't know that."
"Well now you do."
I wake up with the sunlight that comes through my car doors. I guess I fell asleep talking with her. I try unlocking my phone but it's dead as a rock. Okay. I need to get out of here. I spent the entire night just talking and joking around with Scarlett. I never left my car to eat or drink. Funny how I didn't think about any of that while I was chatting about with her.
I get out of the car and lock it while I walk into the house.
"Don't tell me you slept over at the office last night." Richard says walking out of the kitchen.
"No, I slept in my car." I say sitting down in one of the kitchen bar stools. Richard follows me back into the kitchen.
"You slept in your car?" He asks
"Yes. I didn't mean to. I was talking to Scarlett and I guess I was tired because I don't remember when I fell asleep." I explain to him
"Oh Lena, are you hungry? I can make you some french toast." He offers.
"You don't have to do that." O say standing up.
"But I want to, now sit your bum back down and wait for me to make you some delicious breakfast." He says putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Okay." I say and sit down on the bar stool.
"Now, what was it that kept you in your car? What was so important that you and Scarlett couldn't talk inside?" He asks
"Well we talked about a lot of different things. I.. I don't know. I guess I stayed in the car because I didn't want to phone call to end. Now that I say it out loud it probably sounds stupid."
"Hey, you care for her. I know whats that like. You could have sent me a message to get you something to eat at least." he says
"I wasn't that hungry anyways."
"You never are. You're meals have gotten shorter and shorter. I mean look at your cheeks Lena. You've lost weight."
"I didn't really notice." I lie
"Well I did. If there is something that's bothering you, you know I'm always here. And if it is not something I'm good at, I'll get you someone who is." He says smiling at me.
"Thank you Richard." I say smiling back at him.
"Now, question of the day. What do you want your french toast with?" He asks
"Surprise me." He chuckles
After I ate my delicious breakfast I helped wash the dishes and put them away with Richard. He almost didn't let me do anything. He never usually does.
"You're birthday is coming up." He mentions.
"Yeah.. It is." I nod.
"Soo anyone special flying in?" He asks wiggling his eyebrows.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I say
"Oh you know you do. Will she be here?" He asks
"Yes, she will." I say and he claps his hands happily.
"Finally! I can't wait to spend some time with her. The last time she was here I barely saw her." he says and walks away to somewhere. I get up myself and head upstairs. I need to change into some running gear.
It's cloudy today and it's not too cold so a run could be great. I put on my trainers and bring my water bottle and head out from the back exit. My house is away from the bustling city and from people in general. We don't have neighbours and we have a lot of land here. So I can walk freely, whenever I want. I don't feel scared to walk here at all.
After about an hour I start to grow tired. I didn't run the entire way, but I didn't stop either. I walked when I rested or when I wanted to take a sip of water. After another thirty minutes I decide it's best I start walking back home.
As I arrive back I see a black Mercedes parked in my driveway. Thats not mine. I quickly walk in and hear someone talking inside. As I approach the living room I can feel my eyes almost pop from my head. I can't believe this is even happening.
"Oh there you are darling, your dear friend Kate came around to have a chat with you." Richard says smiling at me.
"Yeah, I decided to stop by since I'm already in London." She says acting innocent.
"I assure you Richard she is on my friend." I say and walk past them.
"Aren't you going to sit down with us?" Richard asks
"No, I would much rather have someone saw me in half than to share a tea with this one." I say pointing to Kate.
"Then I believe it is your time to go Ms Kate. It was nice speaking with you." Richard says standing up.
"You're taking orders?" She asks Richard with raised eyebrows.
"I'm not, but if Lena doesn't like you. Why should I?" He says and she scoffs.
"Fine, I was here to talk about business anyway." She says grabbing her purse.
"Richard make sure she leaves and tell the guards not to let her enter ever again without my permission."
"I will. I was already dialing one of the guards." he says and smiles at me.
"You people are weird." Kate says and leaves.
Bitch.
I walk up to my room and head straight to the bathroom. I need a shower I'm drenched in sweat. I wash my body and go to my office to finish up some work I started yesterday..
