Episode 20: That time I was resurrected into another world and shared the glory of Japanese cuisine
"Alright," I said, setting the bag of rice down with one hand while I bodily lifted and threw the crowd of snarling cooks back into the corner with the other. I looked over at them with worry as they stood back up and started staggering slowly towards us. That should buy us a few minutes at least...
"Now, the next step is to steam the rice," I said. "Do you have a rice cooker?"
Bonbon cocked her head cutely to the side and exchanged a doubtful glance with the chef's head before both she and the chef's body simultaneously pointed at me.
"No, that's not quite what I meant..." I sighed. Now what should I doshio? (TL Note: doshio means doushiyou) (TL Note: doushiyou means "What do I do?")
I quickly booted up my [Brain Cell Phone] and activated my [Sahara Prime] Cell Phone Artes to order a rice cooker. However, it would take two days to get here. I looked over at the cook-horde in fear. We didn't have that long! I would get hella bored before then, and I'd probably wander off somewhere and lose the chance to impress this hot anime busty Isekai world elf babe! She seemed totally into me, which I could infer from the fact that she'd talked to me politely, and from the fact that our eyes met for a split second at least twice when we were talking. Plus, she hadn't even gotten mad at me for riding my skateboard indoors.

"Hmm... perhaps I will use.... the dark and forbidden ways of the ancients." I said, just kind of making up some bullshit. I walked over to their stove. I was pretty sure you could cook rice on the stove without a rice cooker, but I had no fucking clue how that worked. I guess I'd just have to wing it.
I grabbed their largest stockpot, then threw a few bowls of rice in, just enough to give a sampling to everybody here. I couldn't risk them running off and showing investors the rice before I'd had a chance to submit a patent and make a [Mental Powerpoint] presentation to show on Isekai Shark Tank or whatever the fuck they had here. I nodded to myself and used [Instantly Learn Skill] to learn [Mental Powerpoint] as well.
Now that there was enough rice, it was time to fill it up with water. They didn't have indoor plumbing because this was a shitty dirtworld isekai fantasy world, so I had to make do with their water pump outside. I walked out and put the pot below the spigot before activating their gas generator to start up the pump's motor. I sighed to myself at how archaic this whole bullshit process was. Finally, after a few seconds, the pot was full of several gallons (TL Note: A gallon is like a couple liters) of water.
I carried it back to the stove and heaved it up, prodding the miniature dragon inside to start breathing fire at the pot. Within seconds, the pot was heating up to a rolling boil!
"Perfect," I said, out loud. "Now we just have to wait."
Bonbon looked at the cook-beasts, who were steadily approaching us at a narratively-appropriate crawl. She turned towards me, worry and her corrugator supercilii furrowing her brow.
"Do we have enough time to wait?" she asked, playing air guitar out of nervousness.
"Don't fret," I reassured her. "I have a plan."
"What plan?" The chef asked, his head staring at me dubiously from the baby high-chair his body had deposited it into.
I grinned a smile. "Looks like I'll have to use... that." (TL Note: 'that' means [Trick or Treat Room])
"You don't mean..." Bonbon asked, her voice hushed.
"That's right," I said, "My weakest and most useless skill, [Trick or Treat Room]"
I turned to the post of boiling rice and framed it in between my fingers, like I was some cool photographer or something. Struck by inspiration, I learned [Photographer Mastery] using my [Instantly Learn Skill] skill. I took a deep breath and activated my skill:

"[Trick or Treat Room]."
A glowing square of spooky Halloween decorations appeared around the pot, like a picture frame.
"[Make Cube]," I cast, activating all of my magical spells at once. Instantly, the 2D frame multiplied itself by itself by itself to become a 3D cube encompassing the pot.
"What does it do?" Bonbon asked, curiously.
I gave her a cocky chuckle and nodded slowly. "Nothing. It's the most useless skill ever. But... it's also the strongest skill ever!"
"Huh? How the hell does that work?" the chef demanded obnoxiously. That prick. The fucking tool.
I pointedly ignored him, until Bonbon asked the question as well, at which point I happily smiled at her and put on a pair of glasses so that I could adjust them.
"Allow me to mansplain," I replied, gesturing to the [Trick or Treat Room]. "[Trick or Treat Room] on its own doesn't do anything. It just sits there. However, it changes the things that happen inside of it. If you cast the spell [Haste] inside of it, it instead turns into [Slow], and vice versa."
"Sounds really pointless," the chef complained.
I shrugged. "It's good if you're trying to sweep, but not much otherwise. But that's not all..."
I bent over and pulled out a fun size candy bar, before tossing it into the Halloween grid. Instantly, the lights in the ethereal pumpkins and ghosts flashed bright green before fading to a dim green light.
"And now... behold."
I held my hand out and swept it across the [Trick Or Treat Room]
"[Time Slow]" I activated. Instantly, steam exploded from the pot, as the boiling rapidly intensified.
"Time is now moving at 100x speed!" I shouted. "And now!"
I snapped my fingers, and the Halloween frame disappeared entirely. I walked over and activated [Burning Invulnerability] to take the lid off of the pot with my bare hands like a true chad. I gazed down into the pot. Hm...
The good news was, the pot of rice was cooked perfectly, but the bad news was, there was too much water, so it was still wet, with about two inches of extra water above the rice. That was fine, though. I had watched a 5 Seconds Crafts video on this on my [Brain Cell Phone]. I reached into the bag of rice and tossed some uncooked rice into the pot.
"This will absorb the excess moisture," I explained. I watched as the water level receded, leaving only a pot of perfectly-cooked rice.
I moved quickly, as the cooks were gaining on us, carefully splitting the rice into a bowl for each of us. I handed one to BonBon and the chef, before holding one over my head so that Wanda could reach down from the rafters and snatch it like some kind of sexy anime gremlin.
I threw the remainder of the bowls like shuriken, sending one hurling towards the gaping maws of each of the cook beasts.
I turned my attention to my own rice, my eyes watering with joy. It'd been so long since I last ate rice, I had already lost count of the hours. Nostalgia expanded to fill my chest, like a cartoon rabbit reinflating themselves with a bike pump after being flattened by a steam roller. Ahh... the taste of Japan.
I took another bite of the unseasoned steamed rice, tears of joy pouring down my face. I looked around to see that everybody else was likewise affected. Even the cook beasts had reverted back to their true forms.
"This is the power of my sacred dish: Anti-Beast Gohan."
I turned my back, my apron blowing in the wind as they applauded me. I was glad that I was able to solve that tough fight against the beast cooks, because that could have turned ugly if I had to break out more than 1% of my power. The blood splatters would have been a huge Isekai-OSHA violation. Still...
I took a look at my wrist, then used my [Brain Cell Phone] to check the time. Looks like it was starting to get late. But I still had so many recipes to share! I had to firmly establish my reputation as a badass Isekai chef who knows all kinds of cool dishes, if I wanted to get the "(Another)Worldly Chef" Steam Achievement. Looks like I had no choice... I activated my [Learn Skill Instantly] skill, one last time (for the next few minutes).

That Livia, the bullish and jealous tormentor of the heroine, deserves a fate more befitting of her past deeds. One worst than death. Livia's fate is ripped out of her hands. She is forced into a collar, sold to an empire rotten with greed, and placed inside a harem where she is expected to wither and die from the inside out. But Livia refuses to be forgotten. A promise that pushes her through the darkest moments of her life and brings to light a newfound power rooted deep inside her.
