"Give me my babies," I said to Gülnihal as soon as they finish cleaning them. Gülnihal and Esma handed me the babies and I balanced them both in my arms before kissing their forehead.
"ATTENTION." The door man yelled and everyone bowed as Mehmed entered the chamber with Hümaşah Sultan and Ayşe behind him.
"Halime." Mehmed whispered as he stepped closer to us. He kissed my forehead. "How are you, my love?"
"I'm fine now that you are here with us." I whispered.
"MashAllah, Halime. Congratulations." Hümaşah Sultan said as she stepped closer to have a look at the babies.
"Halime Sultan, may Allah give long life to them. They're so cute." Ayşe said and I smiled at her.
Like as if Mehmed knew which one was the girl, he carefully picked the girl up before placing a kiss on her forehead. "Benim güzel Sultana," He whispered before facing me. "You have made me the happiest person today, Halime."
I smiled. "How did you know that was the girl?"
"I just know," He whispered before turning his attention back to his little Sultana. She already had Mehmed wrapped around her little fingers.
Hümaşah Sultan came forward and took the boy from my arms carefully. "He just looks like you Mehmed." Hümaşah said.
"And he also got the eyes of Halime Sultan." Ayşe said before giggling and stepping closer near Mehmed to have a look at the baby girl.
"She looks exactly like Halime Sultan." She added with a smile.
"Sumbul agha," Hümaşah Sultan called out and Sumbul came running in.
"Sultanam." He bowed.
"Give orders to fire the cannon. Let the World know a beautiful Sultana and a worthy Şehzade has been born to their Lord." Hümaşah Sultan ordered. "Distribute double gold coins and clothes and food among the people."
"Also tell Şeker agha to cook a huge feast and also distribute coins and sherbet and lokma in the Harem." Hümaşah Sultan said before handing me the baby. "I'll go to my chamber and get my scarf." She said and I nodded.
She left with Ayşe, leaving us alone.
Mehmed dismissed everyone before sitting down on the bed beside me. "She's the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, Halime. May she grow into a beautiful lady like her mother."
"Amin." I replied.
He looked up. "I miss you so much, Halime." He said before leaning in and placing a kiss on my lips. "I'm so happy today."
"Me too." I replied as I leaned my head on his head.

Soon, Hümaşah Sultan returned with some agas carrying two cribs and Ayşe with Atike and Ismihan.
The name ceremony started and Mehmed picked our baby boy before saying a prayer and whispering into his ear.
"I will name you after my great ancestor." He said before leaning down to whisper into his ear.
"Your name is Murad." He said. Murad. The name I suggested when he asked me what would I like to name our baby if it's a boy. He remembered.
He repeated three times before handing him to me and taking the baby girl.
He paused for a moment before smiling. "Her face is just like the moon."
"When the news of the birth arrived, I looked up at the sky and thanked Allah. I saw the moon and sun side by side." He said. "Hence, I'll name you after them."
He leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Your name is Mihrimah." He said.
"Your name is Mihrimah."
"Your name is Mihrimah." He whispered three times.
"Mihrimah." Hümaşah Sultan repeated as she stepped closer to Mehmed to have a look at Mihrimah. "You really thought of a good name, Mehmed. Mihrimah Sultan, the first of her name."
"I wish and hope Allah bless you too with a beautiful daughter, Hümaşah." Mehmed said smiling at Hümaşah whose smile immediately turned into a sad one.
I felt sorry for her. That incident took away her ability to give birth. May Allah punish those criminals.
She didn't reply to anything and gave a sad smile before excusing herself and going out.
"Atike, Ismihan, come, have a look at the babies." I called out with a smile making them run towards me and Mehmed who sat down on the bed.
"Sultanam, I thought you said either a boy or a girl will be born but here there are 2 babies?" Ismihan asked in confusion and both Mehmed and I shared a look before chuckling.
"Evet, you and your uncle asked for a girl while Osman asked for a boy." I said. Of course Osman didn't say it. "So Allah blessed us with 2 babies, Murad and Mihrimah."
Atike lightly touched the face of Murad and looked up at me with her big eyes. "He is cuter than Osman." She said, making me chuckle.
"Gülnihal, bring me my Osman." I said and she nodded before placing Osman beside me. "Osman, benim Şehzade look, you have a new brother and sister."
Osman was soon going to turn two. He could walk and could speak a few words by now.

He kept on staring at Murad before turning to his father who was also curiously looking at him. He crawled towards him and stood up with the support of his father before peeking at his baby sister.
"Look Osman, it's your baby sister, Mihrimah Sultan." Mehmed said. Osman touched her face before showing his father his two front teeth. I'm still surprised he remembers Mehmed, after all he's been gone for a long time.
Mihrimah already has both her father and brother wrapped around her little fingers. Poor Murad.
"I like this one better." Atike replied as she placed a kiss on Murad's head and I smiled. At least someone loves him.
Atike and Ismihan left after having dinner with us and Osman also immediately fell asleep and so did the twins.
"Mihrimah Sultan." Mehmed whispered as we sat on the bed watching the twins sleep on their crib beside our bed.
"She already has you wrapped around her fingers Mehmed." I said, shaking my head at him.
"Of course," He said as he kissed my forehead. "She's the fruit of my prayers. The daughter I've been longing for forever."
"How about my Murad?" I said, glaring at him jokingly, making him chuckle.
"Of course Halime, I love him and Osman too."
"Yeah of course. You don't love me anymore." I said as I pulled away from him and turned towards the other side.
Suddenly, he pulled me back in a quick manner making me gasp. My back was pressed to his front as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder before leaning in so close that I could feel his breath on my ears.
"You don't know how much I missed you Halime." He whispered as he ran his other hand up and down my arm sending shivers down my spine.
"I want to do so many things to you right now but you're not in the situation to take it." He said as he ran his nose up and down my neck making my heart beat fast.
His hand slowly went down to my breast before he grabbed it, making me gasp in pleasure. Suddenly one of the twins cried out and I pulled away from him making him groan.
Murad was crying so I slowly picked him up from the crib before rocking him back and forth.
"This is why Mihrimah is my favorite." He scowled at his son, making me chuckle.
"Stop bullying your son, Mehmed." I said as I lightly slapped his chest before bringing my attention back to my son. I rocked him to sleep before we both went to sleep in each other's embrace.
There was a huge feast in celebration of the return of their Sultan and his victory and also of the birth of two new members of the dynasty. The whole capital was celebrating.
Mehmed was out with the pashas while I was still on bed rest but Atike and Ismihan decided to accompany me while Osman was his aunt Ayşe.
Atike has been so obsessed with Murad while Ismihan didn't leave the side of Mihrimah. I'm glad the babies have someone to protect them and love them.
"Hala Hümaşah was right," Ismihan said. "Mihrimah's face looks like the moon. Round and white." She said, making me laugh.
Soon, the night arrived and Mehmed asked everyone to come to our chamber to have our dinner together.
We all sat down in front of the long table as the maids started serving.
"Sultanam, I couldn't congratulate you as I was busy with the state works." Zülfikar Pasha said. "Congratulations, may the Şehzade and the Sultana have a long life."
"Amin." We all said in union before digging in.
I cleared my throat and looked at Mehmed who gave me a confused look. "Mehmed, I thought we discussed something yesterday." I hissed at him and he finally got it.
"So," Mehmed began and everyone turned their attention to him. "Halime and I have decided something."
"For Ayşe." I added as I eyed Ayşe who's face became pale. Maybe she thought I'll force her into a marriage but she's wrong.
"Ayşe, benim güzel kardeşim, Halime and I have decided to marry you off to Iskender Pasha." He announced. "That is if you're ok with that."
"Whatever His Majesty orders." She replied with a blush and I gave her a teasing smile.
"But tell us, are you happy with it?" I asked with a smirk and her face turned red like a tomato.
"Ye. . Yes." She stammered.
"Ok, it's fixed. Ayşe will marry Iskender Pasha 1 month from now." Mehmed said before turning to Hümaşah. "I'll give you the full responsibility, Sultanam, if you don't mind."
"Of course Hünkarım." Hümaşah replied with a bow.
Mehmed started talking with Zülfikar Pasha while Hümaşah was talking with Ayşe and the kids, Atike, Ismihan and Osman were in their very own bubble.
I looked at the scenario in front of me and smiled. My family. They were my family now and I felt at home with them. May Allah never separate me from them.
