《Hollywood King》Chapter 201 | Final Scene

[At the set]
“It’s the final scene, everyone! As you all know, it’s been four months, and a wonderful journey… We can simply wrap it all off after the final scene is taken. So, are we ready? Felix… Is it all okay down there?” Ian asked loudly from the speaker as everyone was trying to get everything in order.
“Yes, it’s all fine!”
“Okay, so in the end, you’ve to take him out, or at least show that you’re trying and the rest would be fine, all right? Give me emotions, but at the same time, don’t. You know what I mean right? Let’s try once, ready?”
Everyone walked down to their places and positioned themselves to listen to his command.
“This movie is worth my hair, and if I think about it, me being bald is kinda cool,” Diesel said while walking inside the car.
The scene was in which the car gets hit by the truck. And to make it realistic, there was fake blood all over his head just on one side.
“I guess we can agree on that,” Walker replied as they both walked back in.
Over the time they were filming the movie, the pair had gotten a lot closer than even Ian had expected. During the time, what everyone knew was that one of them was inexperienced as a newborn baby in the industry. Yet, the others accepted the responsibility to help, and even during scenes, Ian had it a lot easier considering how close they had gotten.
“Yeah, what kind of a face should I make? This… This, or this?”
“More of something neutral. As you know, your character is this big man who doesn’t want to show emotions, and yeah. I don’t know why I’m saying that when the movie is already at the end for us,” Walker said while looking at Diesel.
“Ah, yeah, right, we are ready!”
Walker lifted his hand to show thumbs up to Ian who waved back.
“Roll sound…”
“Sound rolling!”
“Roll camera!”
“Camera rolling..!”
“And… action!”
Inside the car, Dominic Toretto was breathing heavily. His eyes are locked on something afar, and his body doesn’t move an inch. The car was trashed for its speed when it hit the truck, yet the man inside it was alive.

Brian was terrified at the scene that just played in front of him. How the car sped up even after passing the train, and how the man is still breathing inside.
“Cut! No… I want to see more emotions. Like dude, you just go crashing, and where’s the adrenaline? Can you both do two circles around the set? The breathing needs to look natural, and it would be great if you guys can?” Ian asked,
They were back from a break which was also why the scene came off a little unnatural. Ian couldn’t help but pause them as soon as he thought this wasn’t going as he had planned.
“Ah, sure!”
Both of them stood up, Diesel jumped twice and then they started running.
“This is going to look so good, I tell ya,”
Someone from the team said while Ian just laughed without saying anything.
-
After five more takes, the final scene was done and dusted.
Ian was looking into the little screen in front of him. And he realized the final shot was too good to be true. The way that Brian was looking at the car that left him in the middle of the road, and how Toretto sped up to the road… Ian felt goosebumps all over his skin.
“How good can that be? You did a great job.”
Mason Walked from behind and said while Ian smiled back at him.
“Yeah, it was a great shot. And to be honest, their friendship grew from day 1, and if anything, the chemistry is easily shown in the cameras for how true it is. And in my opinion, this movie is going to hit it big. The actors can take the big break they’ve been looking for.”
“Yeah, I wanna know something although I think I might have the answer. What makes the movie so special? In your view… it’s interesting always,”
“Well to be frankly honest, this movie itself has the best action sequences involving street racing and high-octane action where despite a so-so plot to follow, or one that’s been seen before, I don't think I’ve to worry about anything. It’s just pure fun and lots of adrenaline,” Ian explained in the most minimal way.
He loved the movie considering how much of a thrill that one night in street racing gave him. He also realized that people who live with no care in the world, people who don't have cameras following them everywhere, and especially people who want to do anything they want and have no fear of getting judgmental views are so damn lucky.

“That explains a lot, and for all the people who called you a youngster who doesn’t even know how to control your emotions, and ruthless… I think they get what they deserve. This is the best kind of revenge that I see and I want to see it in the future,” Mason said, hinting something.
“Yes, I plan to. Let’s see,”
“Why is it named the Fast and the Furious?” Niko asked, walking from behind.
“You sure have a way of getting into conversations,” Ian joked. “I did have some more names in mind, but this suited the best. I hope you agree with me, right?”
The fact that the Working titles for the movie included "Racer X", "Redline" and "Race Wars" was funny. The situation made him remember the fact that although the entire world is different, the world of movies can not be that different.
Ian played the video further, and they both enjoyed the emotions that were portrayed in front of them. Niko walked away after seeing how boring it was going to get. Same scene, with different angles. Same scene, with different cuts. Same scene, different fails—leave the boring stuff to the professionals.
While Ian was watching it, the fact that in the original movie Neither Michelle Rodriguez nor Jordana Brewster had driver's licenses or even learner's permits before the production of the film came to his mind.
There were also a lot of scenes that came to his mind when it was all about the making of the movie. In the originals, When Dom, Letty, Leon, and Vince attempt to pull off their heist on the semi-truck, it happens during the daytime. All other heists in the movie were attempted at night, which is why there is no visible green neon under their Honda Civics, unlike the other Hondas used in the nighttime heists. The scene was done during the daytime to make it easier to see everything that happened during the attempted heist, including the stunts, performed.
Ian’s thoughts suddenly got distracted by something that came to mind. “I also find it funny how In the final race between Dom and Brian, Brian has to use NOS twice just to keep up with Dom, similar to how he did in the first street race in the film.”
“Oh yes, true. Good job, well done, again, Ian,” Mason smiled.
While watching the clips, his thoughts also shifted to one other thing that he had always wanted to participate in. The industry of video games. Resident Evil and Fast and the Furious could be two amazing video game franchises that would own the world of video gamers.
‘This is it then’
He closed the screen and stood up to give the final talk to everyone.
“That was perfect, and I hope everyone had an amazing time shooting the movie. Thank you so much for the support, guys. Is there anything that anyone wants to add?” He kept it short but saw how people wanted to say a lot of things.
“First of all, I want to say that… Thank you so much for making me a part of this wonderful movie. The entire process was thrilling, but the most important thing in my personal opinion is how this entire movie opened me to a new career and a new life. Thank you, Ian!”
The cast and the team clapped at his words. It was Richard Diesel.
“Yeah, not a new career, but a new way of seeing things. Ian, you’ve been positive throughout the whole experience, and I’ve got to say, that’d one of the most amazing things I saw in you as a person. Thank you a lot for everything! Guys! Drinks on me tonight!” Walker yelled while everyone cheered.
The ending of a book might be sad, but what’s more, to come is always twice as happy as how it all started. With much hope, they wrapped up the shooting and decided to get themselves drunk so they could enjoy the warmth of being hungover just to feel that all of them participated in one of the biggest things in their lives.
