As Qiao Qing moved to apply new medicine on Jun Yexuan, he stared at her face. There were a lot of things he wanted to say but he didn’t know where to begin.

Qiao Qing threw away the old bandages and said, “You can get off the bed now. There’s no need to keep hogging my bed. Tonight, you go back to your room to sleep.”

Jun Yexuan had no reason to say no. He asked her, “You were the one who solved the Exquisite Unrivaled Positioning?”

Qiao Qing ignored him.

Jun Yexuan realized that Go was one of her hidden talents. So it was normal that she didn’t want to say.

He asked again, “What’s your relationship with Master Ye and his grandson?”

His tone made it sound like he was a husband inquiring about his wife.

As usual, Qiao Qing ignored him.

Jun Yexuan grabbed onto her wrist, “Just how many young radishes like you? Just how many faces were you able to remember before mine? One Feng Heng is enough. Do you want me to drown in jealousy?”

Qiao Qing responded, “If you ditch your unrealistic expectations, you wouldn’t have all these troubles.”

Jun Yexuan’s eyes narrowed, “What do you mean by that.”

Qiao Qing said lightly, “I mean, stop liking me.”

Jun Yexuan’s face dropped upon hearing this. His heart turned increasingly cold. His wound that stopped hurting a while ago, seemed to be in agony again.

He stared into her eyes as if trying to peek into her heart, “Do you like me even a little bit right now?”

Qiao Qing was emotionless in the face and stern in the tone, “No.”

Jun Yexuan seemed to have heard something breaking, “Qiao Qing, is your heart made out of rocks?”

Qiao Qing answered, “You can think whatever you want.”

Jun Yexuan chuckled. His temperament instantly turned devious and dangerous.

“You think this is enough for me to give up? I told you, I have set my eyes on you. You better accept your fate!”

“It’s still early. I will wait for the day you fall in love with me. If one year isn’t enough, I’ll wait two years. If two years are not enough, I’ll wait 10 years. If 10 years are not enough, then I’ll wait for you my whole life.”

“Unless I die, you are mine in this lifetime! Whoever tries to take you will be my enemy! If you ever fall in love with anyone, I will kill that person!”

Qiao Qing’s lips pursed into a straight line.

Next, the two sat in silence, as if they were having a cold war.

Qiao Qing didn’t bring up how he should sleep in his own room. Instead, she turned around and left.

As he watched Qiao Qing’s proud and emotionless silhouette, Jun Yexuan clutched onto the blanket with a frustrated look on his face.

In the middle of the night, Qiao Qing woke up from pain.

She turned on the light and saw redness on the white bedsheet. She immediately cursed.

After getting up, she changed into a clean set of pajamas and put on a pad. By the time she did all that, she was close to passing out from sweating so much.

However, because she was so thirsty, she shakily and slowly staggered out of the bedroom to get water from downstairs.

Who knew that when she reached the stairs, she would see blackness before her eyes.

Just as she was about to fall headfirst down the stairs, a gush of wind blew by from behind.

Jun Yexuan rushed over at lightning speed and caught Qiao Qing’s drifting body.

Startled, he stared at the girl in his arms with anger in his voice.

“I’ll stop forcing you to do anything, alright? It’s the middle of the night, who are you trying to scare?!”

Qiao Qing was in so much pain she couldn’t even stand up on her own. Instead, she curled up in his arms.

Jun Yexuan finally realized something was wrong. He turned on the light and saw Qiao Qing’s tiny face to be void of color.

He remembered something and cursed.

“I calculated the days. It’ll be a month the day after tomorrow. How come tonight…”

He then paused. More anger fueled his voice, “Do you think I am a dead man? You don’t remember to call me up for this? What are you trying to prove? Or do you hate me so much that you rather risk your life going down the stairs than to rely on me?”

Qiao Qing’s legs were wobbling and she was using him as support to stand up. Even though she wanted to answer, she didn’t have the strength to.

Jun Yexuan coldly snickered, “I renege everything I had said. I’m telling you Qiao Qing, you’re over!”

Then, ignoring his own injury, he picked her up princess style and headed straight to the bedroom.
