Alessandro took both his daughters to the principals office.
"Mr Russo, è bello vederti" the man spoke.
"è bello vederti anche tu, spero che i miei ragazzi non ti stiano causando troppi problemi" Alesandro said
"così come mi restano solo due anni di voi Russos, me ne date altri due"
The principal jokes
Both men shared a laugh for a few seconds.
"Anyway I'd like to introduce my girls, Alexia and Emilia" Alesandro said switching back to English so the girls could understand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both. I'm the principal here, Mr Acarri We will have to get you both learning Italian as fast as possible though, luckily for you, this school teaches in English" the principal introduced. Long ago they had only taught in Italian but with more and more students coming from different countries they decided to teach in English.
"It's lovely to meet you Mr Acarri, I'm Lexi " Lexi replied batting her eyelashes.
The principal didn't think much of her, she looked fake and that amount of makeup wasn't allowed however he didn't dare say anything to her father about it.
"And you must be Emilia, your father mentioned you can't speak, I have informed all your teachers and we have agreed a white board would be best, just because we don't want you to be tempted to Google the anwsers" the principal explained, he then walked over to his desk and brought out a whiteboard and a marker. "If the marker runs out just let a teacher know and they will replace it for you" he explained and handed it her.
Emilia shakely wrote on the board
Thank you
Alessandro smiled, his daughter was making progress.
"Its no problem, I have asked a student to show you around, unfortunately I wasn't able to get you both in the same form room however If it is a problem we can look at moving you next semester" he said.
"Oh that's completely fine" Lexi said.
"Great" he then went to the door and opened it, a girl thrn came in.
Emilia suddenly found the floor very interested.
"My name's Bianca, I'll be showing you both around"
Lexi smiled and went over.
Alessandro noticed Emilia's behaviour and crouched down so he was eye level "don't worry, you will do just fine. Everyone will love you bambina" he whispered so only they heard.
Lexi didn't like how Emilia was getting attention.
Emilia nodded.
Bianca took the girls out. "So does she speak" she asked Lexi as they wondered round.

"Nah she's mute" Lexi said with a glare.
Bianca picked up on the glare and laughed "bet she's an attention seeking bitch"
Lexi smirked, she hadn't said anything bad in case Bianca stuck up for her and word got around, then her plans would be ruined.
"She's a stupid bitch, god you don't know how annoying it is"
Bianca laughed, she turned to face Emilia and got in her face "a stupid bitch like you won't last long here, bet your family will be even more dissapointed"
"Oh look you have English literature right, here's your classroom" Bianca thrn added.
Lexi smirked and got up in her face whilst Bianca knocked on the door.
"Just remember how much they will hate you when they see how bad you are at school, I bet if you dared get another D, they will beat you up for it"
And then Bianca pushed Emilia inside, leaving her stood in front of the entire class, Bianca and Lexi laughed as they walked off.
The teacher looked at her with confusion until it dawned on him that she must be a new student "you're one of the new students aren't you" he asked, she nodded and he saw the whiteboard.
"Emilia I presume" he had been told about how she was mute so he only asked yes or no questions to make it easier for her.
She nodded.
"Class this is Emilia, I expect you all to make her feel welcome....go take a seat Emilia"
Emilia went to the one at the back thinking it was safe as no one was sat there, but there was gasps.
She didn't understand why until 10 minutes later when a boy walked in, he had tattoos peaking out of his shirt and blazer. "You're in my seat" he spoke coldly.
"You can sit somewhere else today Luca" the teacher called.
Emilia was already up though and moving seats, she didn't want to make him mad.
"This one is now free" he told the teacher and sat down at the desk.
Emilia moved to the only other free seat, next to a girl.
"Hi I'm Sofia, don't take that too personally, Luca is like that with everyone, I swear he's into some shady shit too" the girl introduced.
Emilia just nodded and waved, she was too nervous and scared to write.
"Can you speak" Sofia asked looking at the whiteboard.
Emilia shook her head.
Sofia frowned at this "oh, that's okay. My friends won't mind. I think Antonio will be pleased he can rant to someone without them telling him to shut up. The boy doesn't shut up" Sofia replied.

Emilia looked at her questionably, Sofia caught onto this "oh right, would you like to be my friend" she asked.
Emilia had never had a friend before but Sofia seemed nice so she nodded.
"Girls enough chatting" the teacher caught on to their conversation, he didn't mind too much but he knew as a teacher he was suppose to say something.
After setting the class some work he walked over to Emilia "sorry I was a little blunt earlier, I will be your English teacher and form teacher, my name is Mr Ricardo but everyone calls me Mr Rick. I see you have already met Sophia, if you have any questions I'm sure she will catch you up but of course don't hesitate to ask me. And being your form teacher, you can come to me with any troubles you are having around school"
Emilia smiled and shakily wrote thank you on her board.
"You're very welcome"
Time skip
It turned out Sofia and Emilia had the next class together so Sofia showed her the way and introduced her too Antonio and Lucy. They both were very friendly and welcoming. Like Sofia mentioned, Antonio went on a little rant about something stupid but Emilia didn't mind as she was enjoying having friends.
It was lunch time now and there was alot of people staring at Emilia and Antonio, they had the last class together without the others so Antonio was the one to show her to the cafeteria. Being the new girl meant alot of stares and whispers.
"Ignore them" Antonio mumbled as they entered the cafeteria.
Emilia nodded not fully comfortable with talking with her board yet around him.
"Emilia, Antonio" Sofia yelled from across the room, she waved the over dramatically, not caring about the whispers.
"God help us with that girl" Antonio mumbled but smiled as they went over to Sofia.
"Emilia this is Evan and Hailey, guys this is Emilia" Sophia introduced the last two of her friends to her new one.
"Great too meet you" Evan smiled and offered his hand out
"She is a bit shy Evan, leave her be" Sophia quickly said when she noticed how fearful Emilia looked.
They all took a seat at the table. Sophia pushed a tray of food in front of Emilia "I got you some food since the cue was so long and I know you might not feel comfortable cuing" she explained.
Emilia smiled at Sophia, she was really nice. Guilt hit her when she realised food comes at a cost. But Sophia wasnt like that. "Hey don't look so afraid, i don't mind getting you your food"
"Yeah it's not like it's a big deal, perks of this school, free food at breaks and lunch" Evan said stuffing his food with chips.
"maiale" Lucy muttered.
Seeing the confusion on Emilia's face, Sophia realized she didn't know Italian "she called him a pig, don't mind them, they have a weird relationship where they insult each other for fun" she explained.
"We think they like each other" Antonio whispered so only Emilia heard.
From across the room, Lexi was sat with Bianca and her friends. She saw her sister come in and when she saw she apparently had friends she hated it. It needed to stop, she would make sure of it.
On the other side of the room, Dante and Matteo sat with their friends, they were paying more attention to their sisters though. Well Dante didn't give a shit about Lexi so he mainly talked to his friends but every now and then he would look at her.
They had both snickered when one of her friends had shouted her over at the start of lunch.
"Let's go say hi" Matteo said, he missed his sisters.
"Not a chance, I don't want anything to do with the brats" Dante said shutting the conversation down before it could begin.
Matteo smirked, he knew it wasn't true and he could prove it. "I wonder what he's saying to Emilia" Matteo asked innocently. He knew exactly what he was doing though.
Dante's head shot up and a glare made its way onto his face.
"I thought you didn't care" Matteo asked
"I don't" Dante said.
His problem with the girls was that they were here, after so long they had them back. He saw Lexi as a fake wannabe, her attitude and how she dressed screamed bitch. Her voice irritated him and he had even had thoughts of ripping her voice box out.
Emilia on the other hand, he tolerated without having thoughts of hurting her. He just didn't want her around, someone so innocent would just be the downfall of the Russo men.

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
Dungeons are a lot like sea turtles. They’re born in clutches of dozens, if not hundreds. A hundred may be born at one time, buried in still burning cities, or in forests where the canopy hides the sky, or in ocean trenches at the bottom of the sea. But only one in a clutch ever makes it to the surface. Everyone knows about dungeons— monstrous factories that emerge out of the earth, full of riches and Arcana and power— and monsters. But most of humanity only know about the dungeons that make it. Mark doesn’t know anything about dungeons. He isn’t from this world, and only as a victim of circumstance has he become an unwilling half of a dungeoncore. The other half is a Dark Lord. (Rewrite)

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
