《Werewolf Committee》Sweet Kiss

Some of us stood there unfazed while some of us being me, stood there with their mouth wide open. I felt arms slip around my shoulder and I was turned around and directed back towards the committee.
"Tate, is it all over?" I asked glancing at Adrian's dead body as the warrior wolves began to pick up the dead bodies.
"It is," he said quietly. The rage and anger in his eyes had left and all that was left behind was hurt and betrayal.
"What do they do with the dead bodies?" I asked in a hushed whisper. Tate glanced at me and then looked back ahead, jaw clenched.
"Burn them."
Once we arrived at the committee, Tom was rushed towards first aid and I went to go near him but Tate held my arm, shaking his head.
He held my arm and led me underground were the tunnel was. Peeling the wallpaper away, he opened the door and there stood the huge mock of people. When they saw us everyone went silent.
"The threat is over. I'd like everyone to spend the night in their rooms," Tate said bluntly and the people bowed their heads.
Everyone quickly left the little chamber and once they did Tate closed the door and walked out.
I quickly followed behind him and followed him into his office and took a seat.
"My own beta," Tate said in disbelief shaking his head.
"My own fucking beta!" He growled loudly, slamming his fist onto the desk and I flinched slightly.
I rubbed my palms together and looked around the room uncomfortably. I haven't ever seen him so angry. His eyes were pitch black and his fists were clenched.
I hesitantly stood up and slowly walked over to him. I placed my hands on his chest and his head snapped to mine.
"Its alright Tate. Calm down please," I plead, "-Tom. Tom would make an even better beta, don't you think?" I said with a weak smile and Tate ran a hand through his hair.
"As soon as I snapped Duncan's neck, Thomas had become beta," he said sighing as he sat down on the nearest sofa.

Tate buried his head into his hands and his body was still slightly shaking from anger. The scene itself hurt me deeply and I wanted, more than anything to calm him down.
I grabbed his hands and he looked up at me confused. I placed myself on his lap and I wrapped my arms around his neck, burying my head in his chest.
After a second, I felt his arms snake around my waist and hold me tightly as he inhaled deeply.
We stayed like that for a few moments and I noticed how we never got to spend much time together. With Adrian in the way we were never able to be true mates. But from now on things would be different.
"I'm sorry," I heard Tate whisper in my hair and I leaned back slightly to look at him.
"What for?" I asked confused.
"If you haven't noticed but, all this seemed to happen on your birthday," he said looking at me, his hazel eyes slightly dull.
"Oh," I said quietly.
Hell, who forgets its their own birthday?
But one things for sure. I wasn't forgetting this particular birthday anytime soon.
"But don't worry," Tate said cupping my face in his hands, eyes glowing.
"The days not over yet."
Walking behind his desk, he pulled out what looked like a blanket. Grabbing my hand, we walked out of his office and out of the building.
"Hurry, we might just make it," he said clutching my hand and we ran together to who knows where.
Running past the trees, Tate dodged trees and avoided rocks. His agility and stamina was perfect and I felt so small next to him.
We were on top of a hill and I felt my legs growing tired already, but Tate looked like he hadn't even lifted a finger.
Hey! You try running up a hill.
I stopped running and panted slightly as my feet sunk into the soft grass.
I watched as Tate shook opened the thin material and laid it on the grass. He gracefully sat down on it and motioned me over.
I walked over and plopped myself down and rested my head on Tate's shoulder still slightly tired.

"Look," he whispered, pointing into the distance.
I gasped at the beauty in front of me. The suns rays were peaking from behind the clouds and the light slowly began to flood the entire sky.
The river below began to sparkle as the orange glow hit on to it making it look almost magical, the water shining.
The clouds slowly disappeared and the sunrise made the sky glow, as a tint of pink and blue blended in with the orange glow. The sky looked like it was ripped out of a children's book and stuck onto the sky.
All in all it looked mesmerizing. Magical.
"I've never seen anything like it," I said breathless my eyes peeling away from the sunrise as I looked into Tate's eyes.
His eyes looked almost green in the sun light and they glowed even lighter, leaving me breathless.
"Me neither," he mumbled never breaking eye contact. His gaze fell down to my parted lips and I felt my insides turn into mush.
I also let my eyes wander to his lips and didn't miss it when his tongue damped his lips.
He slowly leaned in and stopped, his breaths mixed with mine and suddenly every single noise vanished and it was just us and our breathless state.
My eyes fluttered closed and a second later a warm pair of lips moulded over mine.
I could've melted right there. The feel of his lips against mine felt so right, it felt perfect.
Our lips moved together in sync and it felt intoxicating. Tate brought up his hands and cupped my face into his palms as he kissed me slowly.
It was a slow passionate kiss. The sweetest kiss I ever had. Then again, he was the only person I've ever kissed.
A moment later he pulled away, resting his forehead on mine as his eyes remained closed, almost as if savouring the moment.
However my eyes were wide open and my lips hummed in delight.
"That was awesome," I blurted out and immediately my cheeks heated up and I averted my eyes away from his.
Way to ruin the moment Elina. At least not on your birthday. I mentally scowled at myself.
"It was," Tate said in amusement as he grinned at me.
He then laid down on the thin blanket and I followed suit, resting my head on his chest.
We laid there together for hours and talked about everything and nothing. Hearing him laugh every now and then was the best sound I had ever heard. I was getting more attached to him by the second and I didn't mind it.
Before we even knew it, it was night time and instead of staring up at the clouds, we now stared up at the stars.
"You're lucky," Tate suddenly said.
"I am?" I said propping up onto an elbow.
"There's usually very few stars. But tonight the whole sky is full of them," he said looking up at the stars and I couldn't help but notice his hazel eyes looked even brighter at night.
Tate felt my gaze and looked over at me with a soft smile.
"I wish it could always be like this," I sighed.
"With me? It's possible," he said with a small grin.
"Aren't I lucky? I always get the romantic ones," I said with a roll of the eyes.
I looked over at Tate who sat up slightly, an eyebrow raised.
"Always? There were others before me?" He said trying to sound casual but I didn't miss the way his jaw clenched and his eyes went a little darker.
"Oh yeah," I said flicking my hand, "there was, lets see," I said tapping my chin.
"Well there was; Tony, Liam, Jake, Freddie- Oh! Freddie! He was always so sweet-"
I was cut of when I was suddenly on my back and Tate hovering above me, his eyes darker than the night sky.
"Oh really? Sweeter than me?" Tate said in a low voice and I shivered.
"No, none of them sweeter than you. Oh! But Toby-" I began but Tate growled low in his throat making me laugh.
"I'm kidding," I said grinning and Tate lent down, stealing a kiss.
"Good."

Lady of Beasts
Magic has vanished from the modern world, relegated to 'biased accounts' and fairy tales. It has no place in the world of heroes and science. Or so the modern people thought. They would be proven wrong, as one of the eldest lineages of the magical world is revived, to once more aim for dominion over the world of magic and man. Update: 19.4.2021: Revised paragraph formatting to ease the reading experience. Feedback is appreciated! Update: 16.07.2021: The last chapter is written! The title has also been changed, from "Return of Magic, Ascendance of the Old Blood", to "Lady of Beasts". [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

For a side character, there's no beating the bad guy, there's no saving the day, and there's definitely no getting the girl!As a side character in a typical Shonen story, all that awaits Lee is loss, cliches, filler arcs, and a whole lot of cheering the protagonist along from the sidelines. Can Lee change his destiny in a group full of walking tropes? Or will he be stuck watching from the sidelines? Only one thing is for sure, it sucks being a side character!
