Beatrix wants to scold him not to go overboard but seeing his attractive and cute blush makes her reconsider...
Why not?!!
"Okay." She smiled sexily. "Dear Husband, what do you think about me?"
"You are very pretty!" He directly and honestly told her.
She smiled from ear to ear. Who says that she did not like it when she hears honest compliments from the opposite sex? She is just like any other girl!
"And I also think that you are very handsome too." She honestly appraised his physical features. She find it so cute when she noticed that he blushed from her compliment. It is rare to see blushing men. Well, at least, she did not usually see it with Prince Andrew and Prince Anders. Now that she met this new husband, she is beginning to realize that she missed something great in her four lifetimes. She is beginning to enjoy teasing him. This marriage should better be not boring as she expected!
"I want to know more about you, Husband. Here is the deal... We have the entire evening together. How about we spend it by knowing each other?" She suggested as she continue to look at his physical attributes.
"What you do have in mind?" He probed with excitement in his tone.
"How about we start with our favorites first?" She wants to know if they have a lot in common.
"Great! I will look for paper and brush first." He enthusiastically approved.
"Why?" She curiously asked.
"I usually remember things easily but I just want to make sure that I will remember everything about you. Let me get a paper and brush and take note of everything about you." He smiles while looking at her.
This time, she laughed so hard! His way of thinking about things is making her forget all her problems.

He is so cute!
"Okay. I do not mean to laugh at you. Let me also get my paper and brush too."
The servants felt so weird and awkward that the newlywed would ask for brushes and papers during their wedding night but what can they do except obey? The newlywed couple enjoyed their first night by knowing their favorites first!
"Oh my! Are we destined to be together?!" She smiled as she discovered that most of his favorites matches her own!
"We are..." He replied happily putting his guard down and letting her see even his awkward sides.
"Did you know that I am convinced now that you are a true genius? I initially thought you are a quack when seeing your timid approach earlier."
"Is that a compliment or insult? Why do you think so?"
"You learned the art of flirting so fast!" She told him teasingly seeing his embarrassed and in denial expression. He is so adorable!
Next, she told him about the known information about Lamoreaux and Marvel (maternal) families. Of course, she did not include sensitive information and family secrets. She tried so hard to explain the details politely without trying to sound like she is boasting about her family's power and wealth. She does not want to intimidate him or to make him feel that their gap in status is like heaven and earth.
He told her he came from a poor commoner's family. His parents died due to a plague when he is still so young. He does not have existing relatives so he grew up on the streets. He learned different types of jobs to feed himself. He usually sleeps on the streets and eats leftovers from garbage bins. He confessed to her that he robbed someone once when his best friend, a fellow orphan and street sleeper, got sick and no physician would help him without payment.

Beatrix got a little teary-eyed while listening to his stories but later laughed so hard when he told her about the rumors involving her when he was still a young boy. He told her about his nightmares and sleepless nights in the street because of the nasty rumors about her.
Zander narrated his experience when he was captured and sold to a male brothel. His method of escaping the brothel was so hilarious! She almost died from laughing too much! He also told her about his encounter with slave traders and was almost sold to the other empire as a slave but luckily the slave traders encountered bandits along the way so he successfully escaped!
Next, he told her how he met his master, a former intelligent scholar and gifted physician who chose to live freely and travel often to different places. This master took him in together with his best friend. They become his disciples. He taught them scholarly arts and medicine. It is this master who discovered his intelligence.
He shared his past with her. She feels envious of him because he could share his past without hate, disgust, or hesitation. She, on the other hand, could not do the same. She hated her past and would not want to share it with others if possible. She was only forced to tell her parents about it. Not because she does not trust them but because she does not want to involve other people as much as possible.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
