Zander King is a nice person to talk to. She feels so comfortable with him. He is so smart, humble yet confident! He has this ability to make her forget her issues in life and laugh like a normal young woman. He loves to talk and surprisingly, she likes listening to him. When it was her turn to talk, he also listened fervently.
Without even knowing, their wedding night ended without them doing the deed. It was pure communication and conversation but every moment with this new husband is never a dull moment!
Several months later, Zander King is preparing for the incoming imperial examination but his preparation became much easier due to all the information his wife provided him. Initially, he was very surprised that his wife is so knowledgeable about the current imperial system and politics. She even made a personalized reviewer for him and diligently make sure that he will use her self-made reviewer daily.
He is a bit reluctant because how could a woman like her who grew up far away from the capital know so much about the imperial family, existing politics, current events, and many other things? But then again, he could not say no to her especially when she teaches him and spends more time with him to discuss things about different court topics and even citing some examples and solutions. He does not know how did she know all those things. He tried to ask her but she just ignored him and told him to listen to her if he wants to become high ranking official very soon.
He understands that there is no love between them or at least on her end. Sadly, she did not love him so how could he expect her to tell him everything about herself just as he already told her everything about himself? He feels heartache every time he thought about it but all the time that he spent with her are his happiest and most treasured moments!

He convinced himself that she might love him too if he proved himself worthy enough for her so he will do his best to study and prepare seriously for the examination. He wants to be great someday to be worthy of her!
When he married into the General's Mansion, every time he went out, other people will look at him strangely and whisper, others look at him with pity while other people look at him with hate and envy because they probably thought that he is just an ambitious person who used his face and sold his body to climb higher.
He could not blame them, they still thought that his wife is a monster and he is the monster's pet. Their looks and stares mocked him but he did not care. He feels so lucky that he was able to marry her. He always thought that a lovely woman like his wife should not always stay in the Mansion but after thinking carefully, it is also great that few people know of her beauty which means no one will think of snatching her from him!
General Ardor and Lady Andrea are so kind to him just like his wife is so kind to him. He does not care if people insult him, pity him, look down on him or hate him. He only needs the approval of the members of the Lamoreaux family, especially his wife!
He is looking forward to the day, he becomes her husband for real! Not like now, they are only husband and wife in name only.
The day of the examination came and he was so shocked when he checked the questions and problems on the examination paper. The content is very similar to his wife's self-made reviewer! The only difference is it does not have answers yet unlike her wife's reviewer that step-by-step answers and solutions are already provided. He does not know whether he should laugh or cry at that time but one thing is so sure... His wife is scary!!!

How did she know what exactly will come out in the imperial examination prepared by the Emperor? Is she a fortune-teller or practicing black magic? Are all the rumors about her true? Did she truly dance with the evil one to get something in return? No! No! No! Impossible! She is not like that! She will never do that!
Zander King was able to finish the imperial examination way ahead of time. The other examinees are so shocked when he passed his paper so early. He went back to his seat and relaxed while waiting for the others to finish! No sweat! Most examinees are pressured by him while others thought that his brain surrendered so soon because the examination is very hard which is why he passed his paper way too soon!
It is a pity he could only wait for the allotted time to finish before he could go back to their designated places so he is so bored waiting...
The same thing happened on the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh day of the examination. He easily answered the examination papers because all of the questions and answers are in his wife's precious imperial examination review.

A Universe of Bloody Evolution
The Void was never meant to be opened to the Multiverse. The horrors waiting inside it should have never seen the light. And yet, the biggest mistake in the history of creation led to the impossible. In an event later known as the Outbreak, gates appeared in the first Universe, and with them, the Void was free. For ages the Void destroyed universe after universe, spreading its power in every direction, leaving only death and pain behind. But before every Universe met its end, it still had a chance. A small part of the population that survived the initial Outbreak and was granted a mysterious System to help them fight against the dangers that came from the Void. They were the Multiverse's last hope even if they couldn't stop the collapse of their own world. And so the cycle continued until the 36th Outbreak came. Leo Hale, a young reporter from Wolford, was one of the lucky ones to survive when the majority of Earth's population turned into monsters straight out of nightmares. Thrust into a constant battle for his life, Leo was determined to push forward and find his remaining family. Even if it meant sacrificing what was left of his humanity. After all, you either adapt or die. Story of progression and evolution with my take at the post-apocalyptic genre. Unlike most monster evolution stories where the monster rushes to gain human form, here I plan to do something quite the opposite. After all, in a world where almost everything wants to kill you, being human can be hard. Warnings are here to give me the freedom to write whatever is necessary. This is my first original novel. Also English isn't my native language so any feedback is welcome. Remember that even if initially this story takes place on Earth, fictional places, streets, etc will appear. Release Schedule: Monday - Wednesday - Friday Average chapter length: 2000-2500 words (There might be exceptions as is the case with some of the first chapters - most of them are longer.)

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
