" should tell her the truth. I shouldn't have dragged you into this," Nina said, stepping into the elevator.
Tristan stepped inside along with her and pressed the number one and waited for the doors to close. Once they did, he turned his attention to her.
"You didn't drag me into anything, remember? I agreed to help you out."
Nina shook her head. "But now she wants us to get married in a few months. We can't."
"Why can't we?" he asked, staring down at her.
Nina's eyebrows knotted together as she stared up at him.
"You can't be serious. Marriage is a big deal. It should only be with the one you love," she said, shaking her head.
Tristan placed his hand on his chest. "I'm so hurt you don't love me."
Tristan's lips lifted at the corners. Nina blew out a puff of air and laughed.
"This isn't something to joke around about," she said, but she still held a smile plastered to her face.
Nina and Tristan stepped off the elevator and walked out of the exit of the hospital.
They walked towards the parking lot littered with cars. Tristan walked her over to one of his cars he lent her to drive when she told him where she parked.
"We'll talk about it more at home. I have to head back to work," he said, helping her into the driver's side seat.
Nina agreed for them to talk about it more once he made it home. She got onto the highway towards Nina's school wondering why he had agreed to help her again.
Nina made it to Nadia's school on time. She helped her into the car seat and strapped her in securely. Nadia was singing a nursery rhyme as Nina pulled away from the curb in front of the school and drove off towards the highway.
"How was school?" Nina asked, glancing in the rearview mirror to see Nadia.

"It was fun. We got to finger paint today," she said, in her high-pitched voice.
Nina smiled. "You did? That sounds like fun."
"Yeah, I drew a picture of you and daddy."
Nina's grin grew wider as she switched onto another lane.
"That's wonderful. You can show it to me once we make it home."
Nina led Nadia into the mansion. They strolled into the living room that had a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The furniture was old fashion, something you would see out of the early nineteen hundreds but it was very expensive looking. Every time Nina had to sit down she did it ever so gently.
"Can I see your drawing?" Nina asked, with her hand stretched out.
Nadia nodded her tiny head. She unzipped her backpack and pulled out the drawing. Nadia placed the drawing in her hand.
Nina inspected the picture. There was a drawing of a woman who she assumed were a man and a little girl. Nina grinned when she saw her holding Tristan's and Nadia's hand. It was the cutest thing ever. In the drawing, they were holding hands in front of a large home.
"Do you like it?" Nadia asked.
"I love it," she said. "Let's go hang it up on the refrigerator so we can see it every day."
Nadia led her into the kitchen and placed her on one of the stools. Nina placed the drawing on the refrigerator with a magnet.
"Let's get started on your homework," Nina said, pulling out a red folder from Nadia's backpack.
Nina watched Tristan take a bite of his steak. It was just the two of them since Nadia had eaten dinner earlier than them and had fallen asleep. Tristan had put Nadia to bed, while Nina waited for him at the dining room table.
Ever since Tristan came home he was a bit quiet. He turned even moodier when he saw the picture that Nadia had drew hanging on the refrigerator door. Nina sipped on her lemon water, as she glanced back at Tristan to find him staring at her.

"Is everything okay?" she asked.
Tristan sighed and wiped his mouth with a paper towel.
"Everything's fine," he said, with a clipped tone of voice.
"Are you sure because you-"
"Nina, I said I'm fine."
Nina watched him push away from the table and stand up.
Without glancing in her direction, he said, "I'm tired. I'm going to bed."
Nina wondered why he was acting so strangely as she finished the rest of her steak and salad.
Was it his job? Had she done something wrong?
So many thoughts ran through her head as she placed her dirty dishes in the dishwasher. One of the maids will have it clean by the time she woke up in the morning.
Before going to her own room, Nina checked on Nadia. She was still asleep with her night light on making the pink-colored room glow a little. Nina gently shut the door and walked the small distance to her own door and went inside.
Nina went through her drawer to find a nightgown which was red, it was her favorite color. She laid it out on her bed. She went into the bathroom and cut on the shower and made sure it was hot enough.
She stepped out of her skinny jeans, t-shirt, bra, and panties and stepped into the glass shower.
She almost liked her showers scalding hot. She loved the showerhead and the fact that she could set it up for the water pressure to massage her tired muscles. Nina let the water run over her body before she grabbed her loofah and put her favorite vanilla-scented body wash on it.
Nina scrubbed over her body as her mind wandered to Tristan. Was he upset about earlier today when her grandmother told them they had to get married in a couple of months? Was he mad that she didn't step in and say anything?
Nina rinsed the soap off and began scrubbing her body again.
Tristan had agreed to marry her though and told her that they would talk about it later. So she couldn't understand what his actual issue was.
Nina continued to scrub and rinse off until she was sure she was squeaky clean. She turned off the shower and stepped into the steamy bathroom. She grabbed a fluffy white towel from the small closet and dried herself off.
Nina wrapped the towel around her body. She brushed her teeth and washed her face. She stepped into her bedroom once she was done. She put her vanilla-scented lotion across her body as she thought of confronting Tristan on why he was acting so weird.
Nina pulled the nightgown over her head and kept her braids in a bun. She glanced at herself in the mirror to see how she looked but shook her head. She didn't know why she felt the need to primp herself in the mirror when she thought of seeing him.
Nina made her way down the hallway since Tristan's room was further down the hallway. She stopped at his door. Her heart rate had doubled since walking from her room to his.
Nina knocked on the door loud enough so that he would be able to hear it.
After a couple of seconds, she raised her hand to knock again but the door swung open.
Nina's eyes widened when she realized Tristan was standing in front of her with only a towel covering his lower half.

Bint of Gilgit ~ Pakistani Love Story ~ ONGOING ~
For Nazli, the world is limited from her tribe to the Forbidden Valley. For Asadullah, the world is limitless and his for taking. ***"You should be honored that a man like I have taken such an interest in you!" Asadullah smirked, swirling his small handgun on his index finger. The green-eyed girl paled - her skin already porcelain white and quite different from any other he had seen in the country before. She was definitely beautiful even in her less than impressive rags. "Asadullah hardly makes such a generous offer." He said, liking the self-praise more than he wanted to admit. She shook her head - her dainty fingers wringing in her golden braid. Little Goldilocks. "Think again, little girl. The blood of your people will be on your hands." ***The setting is in Gilgit in a fictional valley called the Forbidden Valley. The image is not mine. The story and characters are.
