"Skai do you wanna come to August house wimme?" my friend Maya asked as she looked through her closet.
I shrugged and continued watching Tiktok. "Bitch yes or no?"
"You don't gotta call me out my name, but yea sure I'll come. Who all gon be over there?" I asked.
She thought about it for a second causing me to eye her "Umm I think it's just gonna be us"
I nodded then hopped off the bed to grab my shoes. "Is the studio open Saturday? I want to take pictures" she said pulling on some shorts.
"Yeah, you can come around 5" I told her as I looked through my schedule. "I gotta all day shoot from like 8 to 3 before" I read off.
I have a small photography studio that my daddy bought on my 16th birthday. It's not something I do full time, but on the weekends I'm usually in there.

As soon as we pulled into this boy driveway I noticed 3 extra cars. "Maya bruh, you knew these people were gon be here." I said mugging her
She flashed me a smile as she opened her door "I just feel like you need to get out more, you know meet new people"
I stomped up the driveway behind her "I don't need to do shit" I mumbled causing her to start laughing.
"Augustttttt" Maya smiled as he pulled her into a hug. He kissed her cheek then dapped me up.
"Wassup baby. Skai, they grilling in the back you can go get some" he told me causing a smile to form on my face.
Maya rolled her eyes at me "You so fat"
"Don't talk to me, I'm still mad" I told her following them to the back.

"So y'all mama named you both after months?" I asked causing them to mug me.
"Anyways that's my nigga Tae, and my cousin Kar-" he started but was cut off by the cousin glaring at him.
"Don't be telling her my shit cuh" August chuckled as I rolled my eyes.
I sat next to his cousin, causing him to mug me some more "Soooo what do I call you?" I asked him.
"You call me nothing" he told me as he stood up. "Where you going, Nothing?" I asked.
He chuckled then turned to me "To hell if I don't pray" he said.
"Can you make me a plate? I'll love you forever" I pleaded. He shook his head causing me to frown.
"You got two legs use them Air" he said causing me to hop up. "You know my name is Skai" I told him, rolling my eyes.
I followed him into the kitchen and he ended up making both our plates. "Will you do a Tiktok with me?" I asked as we sat in August's guest room.
He just stared at me "Soooo is that a yes?" I asked.
"You annoying as fuck" he told me.
"And bitch you rude as fuck" I replied causing him to hop up, so I stood up right with him.
"Hoe, who you talking to?" I rolled my eyes "You're literally the only one in here"
"Air I'm tryna be patient with you, but you pushing the fuck outta me" he told me.

"No, you gotta move your hips like to the right then the left." I told him as we recorded for the 4th time.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.

Teddy Bear
As it would stand, the truth of the matter was that aliens had visited Earth before. Roswell was neither a hoax nor unique. It was simply a consequence of a world growing smaller as communication systems became more and more advanced, partly a result of said visitations. For the most part, past interactions between one of the planet Earth's more intelligent species of lifeform and the alien visitors were along the lines of obscure scientific surveys and tests disturbingly similar to attempts by some human scientists to estimate the intelligence of simians. For any species capable of travelling the stars. Visiting planet Earth made about as much sense as backpacking through the Ural Mountains of Siberia with nothing but a flint and a compass. That is to say, most people would prefer to stay close to someplace within walking distance of a mall or a population density slightly higher than four sapient beings per parsec. Still, statistically speaking, there are bound to be some weirdos who find joy rides though a nowhere solar system fun. Just buzzing a frantic farmer or two and playing chicken with an F-16 for the heck of it. Maybe even bring home a bovine to show off to the guys at the office.
