Most people would call the ability to forget specific moments in time a blessing rather than a curse.

I guess if things were different, I'd agree with them. Even I could admit that a chance to leave behind the pain and despair of the past, to forget, would be merciful freedom for many.

So it was a shame that what so many people saw as a potential blessing, I only knew as a curse.

I wasn't cynical.

I just wasn't blessed...

And despite how much I wished things were different, I'd long ago come to terms with knowing that no matter how many times I threw a coin into a well, all my desires would forever be trapped in the essence of what they truly were... a waste of loose change.

Merely an abundance of unlucky pennies.
