The rest of his birthday was a blur to Luke. A whirlwind of museums, restaurants, shops, and friends. All he could really remember was the girl pulling him along the whole way.
Rosemary and Luke had ended up at a park in the city. The rest of the gang had broken off and gone to various places. Calum was the last to leave, giving Luke a wink as he walked off.
Rosemary led Luke to a spot by one of the man-made ponds. It felt like they were walking through trees for ages, but when they got there the forest parted and exposed a magnificently clear night sky.
"Wow," Luke muttered.
"I know," Rosemary replied, plopping down on the grass and leaning back.
Luke layed down beside her. The way the moonlight shone on her face was absolutely breathtaking. Luke wanted to kiss it, kiss it all over. He wanted to run his hands up and down her body, over the soft fabric of her shirt. Luke wanted a lot of things.
They sat in silence for a few moments, her staring at the sky and him staring at her.
"The constellations are so clear tonight," Rosemary said, turning her head to look at him. "My dad and I used to study them-"
But she was cut off as Luke closed the short distance between their mouths.
Luke brought his hand to her cheek. The kiss started out sweet, as their last had, but quickly deepened. Rosemary moved even closer to him, so that their bodies were right up against each other. She took fistfuls of his shirt in her hands as Luke kissed her cheeks, her neck, her collarbones. He guessed she did like Greenday.

Luke couldn't get enough. He stroked her sides, grabbed her hips. She twisted his hair around in her tiny fingers, kissed his ears.
Rosemary pulled her head away too soon and buried it in the crook of his neck. Luke was far from ready to be done kissing her, but satisfied. They lay intertwined like that for many moments. Luke traced light circles on her back as he tried to remember everything about the moment.
"We should probably head back," Rosemary said softly into his ear. She detached herself from his grip and stood up, offering him a hand. Luke accepted it with a smile and stood up. He intertwined their fingers and swung them as they walked.
Once they left the park, they walked the few blocks to where Rosemary's car was parked. She offered to drive him to his hotel, but seeing how tired Rosemary looked and that it was only two blocks away, Luke refused.
Luke wrapped his arms around Rosemary and pulled her into him. They embraced, Luke memorizing her scent. He couldn't bear forgetting a single thing about her.
After they pulled away, Rosemary leaned up and planted a soft peck on his cheek.
"Happy birthday," she whispered, before stepping into her car and closing the door. She rolled down the window. Luke leaned in.
"I'll call you tomorrow?" he asked. She laughed and nodded, rolling up the window and driving away.
Luke watched her car drive down the street and turn the corner. He laughed to himself as he thought about her. How could this girl, still such a mystery, feel like someone he had known for his entire life?
