《The Kings Human Queen》15. Attack

It had been a few days since Xavier gave me the tour of this castle. I was feeling a hell of alot better. I know I could leave now and make it just fine, but I wanted to wait a few more days. Just in case. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
I'm starting to crave his touch more and more. And that scares the sh*t out of me.
Currently I've got blue jeans, my cowboy boots, a black t-shirt and one of Xavier's blue flannel shirts on and I'm deep in a game of candy land with Elyssa. The kids quit playing with us over an hour ago as apparently we were too competitive for them.
"That was a four not five." I said as Elyssa climbed up another ladder.
"No it was a five you just didn't see it right." She argued.
"You two are worse than the kids." Xavier's Mom Elizabeth said looking up from her book.
"Are not!" Elyssa And I both said laughing, she reminded me a lot of my favorite older sister Christina.
All of the sudden alarms started going off, louder than the time I opened the emergency doors.
"Grab the kids and follow me!" Elizabeth shouted at us.
I grabbed Colt and Elyssa grabbed Addison. We ran following Elizabeth to the elevator.
Once we got on she punched in a code and the elevator started moving faster than I'd ever seen it.
When the doors opened I noticed we were in a small basement. There were 6 elevators, 3 on one side and 3 on the other facing each other. To the right was a set of stairs and to the left was a concrete wall.
Other women and children started pilling out of elevators as Elizabeth went to the concrete wall and touched a panel that started to move revealing a keypad with numbers on it.
She quickly punched in a code and the concrete wall started moving revealing a door. What is it with these people a freaking codes. Everything had a code. At this point I was surprised there wasn't codes to go to the bathroom.
Everyone filled in. Walking in there was walls on either side then it opened up. There were couches and seating all around the huge room that was bigger than a gym. To the right there was a door and to the left there was a door. Some women went into the left and came out holding weapons while others sat on the couches holding their children.
Elyssa got seated and I sat Colt down next to her.
I went into what looked like a weapons room. No one was paying attention to me. So I grabbed a very shiny knife, bout the size of my old hunting knife I use to have. I put it in my boot in the holder and I grabbed a 9mm pistol and shoved it in the waist band of my pants after checking that it was loaded and quickly put my shirts over it. I walked out hoping no one saw.
I walked over to the right of the door to see what was behind the other door and it went to a kitchen and some bathrooms.
I went back to sit next to Elyssa and looked around. There seemed to be about 300 Women and children in the room. There was about 20 women standing in-front of the door we came in with weapons, they looked like they were ready for war. They honestly looked bad ass.

An older lady sat on my other side, she smiled at me so I smiled back.
"Hi." I said not wanting to be rude.
"Hi Luna. Don't worry the men folk will take care of everything. The female warriors are just a precaution."
This peaked my interest. Female warriors.
"Who's coming?" I asked
"Rogues was what I heard Luna. They always think they can over throw Alpha Xavier. They never do though. You'd think after 2 centuries they'd learn by now. He's the King for a reason" She said with a twinkle in her eye.
I looked at her like she was insane. What the hell was a rogue? Alpha? Centuries? Xavier was at most 24 maybe 25. King? King of what cults? That's when I decided that this old woman was probably suffering from Alzheimer's. So I patted her arm and smiled at her.
I had watched my Grandpa go through it before he passed and I knew sometimes to keep them calm and happy it was best to play along. If it made them happy and wasn't hurting anyone, it wasn't worth it to upset them by correcting them.
There was a pounding on the door to the outside. All of the sudden it became deathly quite.
I looked towards the door like everyone else.
"Don't worry Luna they can't break the door, its made of silver. They can't get in without the code." The old woman whispered to me patting my arm like I had done hers.
Part of me started to hope the police had traced my call and this was them coming for me.
A small part of me hoped it wasn't and didn't want to leave Xavier. I felt like that half of my mind was a traitor.
Suddenly the door opened, the female warriors raised their weapons when we heard a man speak.
"Ahahaha ladies. Wouldn't want to hurt the little pup would you." He man said.
He was holding a little girl about 4 years old around her waist next to his body. She was struggling to get away from him. 2 more men stood behind him just outside the door.
"Quit moving you brat." He said grabbing her hair and pulling her head back causing her to cry.
That pissed me off and I got to my feet and stood behind the female warriors.
"Nikki!" A woman screamed running towards them only to be held back by some of the women.
"Mommy!" The little girl cried reaching for her Mom.
I pulled the knife from my boot and slid it up my sleeve gripping it by the handle.
"Tell ya what, since I'm such a nice guy I'm willing to trade. Give me the Luna and I'll let the girl go. If not I may just have some fun with this young one." He said
I gagged at the implication of what he meant he would do to the child. And realized he was talking about me.
"We will never hand over the Luna." One woman said followed by a lot of "Yea's."
Weirdly I felt pride as they were standing up for me. But there was no way I was going to let a child take my place. I would give my life for her's in a heart beat. There was no question of that.
His hand started sliding down the little girls body and I snapped.
"Stop!" I screamed getting everyone's attention.
"If you want the Luna, I'm right here I think. That's what they've been calling me anyway." I said walking in front of the group of well armed women.

"I heard a rumor you were human and I just couldn't believe it." He said laughing.
I was honestly confused. Weren't we all human?
"Put the girl down." I said
"Sure as soon as you walk over here, I'll exchange her for you." he said with a nasty smile.
I walked over to them and stood within arms reach. He suddenly dropped the little girl and grabbed my arm as the little girl scurried over her Mom.
"So the human Luna." He sneered in my face. My nose crinkled, he smelled like road kill.
"I don't even know what that means." I said just done with everything at this point.
"Let me help you. See we are not human. No one in this room is human, except you. Bobby why don't you show the Luna what we are." He said motioning to the man on his right. I looked at Bobby then he started to shake and fall on his hands and knees. All at once the man named Bobby disappeared and a large dog stood in his place. He looked like he had mange.
"Well you don't see that every day." I said rolling my eyes and acting unaffected. My sarcasm tends to go through the roof when I'm scared or pissed off. And currently I was both.
"For centuries King Xavier has never had a weakness until you. He is your mate and the only way to kill him is through you." He smelled my hair making me pull back as best I could while he had a death grip on my arm. "I'm going to enjoy breaking you." He whispered with a wicked gleam in his eyes.
My anger skyrocketed at the mention of him hurting Xavier.
"Good luck with that." I said with a smile turning the knife around in my hand at my side.
I brought my hand up and jammed the knife in his chest into his heart then pulled it out and shoved it under his chin through the top of his skull.
I pulled my arm from his loosened grip and pulled the hand gun from the small of my back. I aimed it at the dog and man at the door and fired 4 shots. 2 into each of their chests at their hearts.
I pulled the knife from the man's head and he fell to the ground at my feet.
I was well aware I probably had blood spattered all over me. But I was too much in shock to care at that point.
I turned to Elizabeth who stood behind me wide eyed.
"Are they dead or do I need to cut their heads off." I said unsure if I had actually killed them or not.
"No dear their dead. Silver will do that." She mused
"Great shots by the way." She said
I looked around us and put the knife back in my boot and put the safety back on the hand gun and shoved it back in the waist of my pants in the back.
I bent down and started dragging the man's body towards the door then stopped and looked at Elizabeth.
"Care to lend a hand?" I asked as he weighed a ton.
"Not at all dear." She said grabbing his other hand as we pulled him out the door.
"I didn't want the kids to be stuck in there with a dead body." I told her once we were out side of the door.
"Good thinking." She said
Just then a disheveled man ran down the stairs. I looked at Elizabeth as a silent question.
"Oh he's a rouge dear, he's with these men here." She said gesturing at the 3 dead men at our feet.
"That's all I needed to know." I said drawing my handgun, switching off the safety and firing at him blowing the back of his head off.
"You really are a great shot Alex. Where did you learn to shoot." She asked like I hadn't just killed 4 people.
"My Mom. I've handled guns since I was 5." I said."Mom wanted us to know how to protect ourselves. When I got older and joined JROTC in high school I was one of the best on the riffle team." I explained. "I'm also not bad with a bow." I said
"So what's a mate?" I said looking towards the door fully expecting another 'rogue' to come in.
"Well Xavier should be the one to tell you." She said
"I think we're past that now." I said irritated that these people wouldn't give me straight answers from day one.
"Well the MoonGoddess Selene, She gifted us with mates, better known to you as a soulmate. They are our other half. If they die, we die. We can feel their emotions and pain one we complete the mating ritual. We get tingles from their touch. Their smell can calm us in an instant. It's not uncommon for a wolf to have a human mate. It's rare for an Alpha though, but it does happen. You and Xavier are made for each other. He's been waiting for you for a long time. We all have." She explained
"Why didn't he tell me?" I asked not looking at her. Fearful of the answer that maybe he didn't want me.
"He was afraid you would see him as a monster. While we do turn into wolves we are just like humans. There are good and bad wolves. Just like there are good and bad humans. He wanted you to love him before he told you, so that you wouldn't be afraid." she said.
"He kidnapped you because when we find our mates we can't live without them. As the mate to the King, you and your family would have been in grave danger if he hadn't took you that night." She carried on.
"So I wouldn't have been afraid? I was kidnapped and already scared and freaked out. I wouldn't have been able to fully love the man who kidnapped me with no reason. He should have told me." I said ready to kick Xavier's ass for not telling, but I also really wanted to kiss him.
"The mate bond would have eventually made you fall in love with him. No one can deny the pull." She said smiling.
"Mate Bond?" I asked looking towards the stairs.
"The mate bond makes you want to be with each other. If your apart for a while you feel physical pain until your together again." She explained.
At least now I know why a part of me wanted to stay with him. And the other part that was afraid and wanted to go home had now switched sides. No part of me wanted to leave him.
