Alex heard the gun blast and took a quick peek from behind the large tree trunk she was concealed behind. The team she was looking at was made up of four wolves. They were trying to move with stealth but they were moving far too fast to be in any way silent. If she were a rogue, she could easily have heard them and bolted, with them being none the wiser. They passed her position without a backwards glance. She rolled her eyes. She hadn't even masked her scent, as that may have been deemed slightly unfair, but they should easily have smelled her out. They were pushing against each other and stumbling. They were not taking the exercise seriously and this made her angry. Her team's training time was precious and this would not be allowed to continue for the week. She would teach them a lesson in stealth. The wolf at the back of the team was an easy target. He raised his hind leg to take a leak. Alex had him by the throat while he was mid-stream.

"You're dead wolf. Lie down and don't move from your position", she whispered in his ear. The wolf's eyes widened and he stopped pissing against the tree. She grabbed his throat tighter.

"No mind-linking your pals now pup", she scolded.

The three wolves in front of her were grouped more closely together. She grabbed the back legs of one, using her alpha strength and slammed him into the ground. He yelped in pain as the others turned towards her, too late to react. She swiftly kicked and punched each of them and grabbed their throats.

"Dead", she told each of them in turn. "Now don't move until you hear the gun".

And she ran from the startled group towards her next victims.

The first group had clearly mind-linked the others as the other five groups of wolves were better prepared for her than the first. They, at least, had the decency to be alert and to make it interesting for her. Still however, they were not disciplined and acted more separately than as a cohesive team. There was too much panic in their movements and they acted without a clear lead. Alex received a few cuts and nips but overall, took them all down relatively quickly. She was disappointed in them since they had the task of protecting their own packs. This would be a tougher week than she thought as she mind-linked Nolan to fire the gun again, ending the exercise.

Sweating and wiping the blood from her hands and face with the bottom of her tshirt, she walked towards Nolan and two of her warriors, who stood behind a man clearly seething with anger, while they tried unsuccessfully to hide their laughter.

"And who the fuck do you think you are", he spat at her.

"I'm Alex Fury", Alex replied, "Gamma of the Black Mountain pack. Nice to finally meet you Gamma Kit".
