Writer's pov;
The earlier buzz is in the house has now disappeared as the guests left after their dinner. Everyone retired to their bedroom as they had an early morning, but the girls were awake due to their late morning.
Harshitha busy texting her friend and Vihana doing her nails. After finishing her home pedicure, Vihana started with Harshitha's left hand, skillfully shaping her nails as she hummed a soft melody.
"Harshi," Vihana called in a singing tone. Harshitha looked up from her mobile to see Vihana smiling, looking at the bedsheet. She shook her head at Vihana's silliness and continued chatting.
"Harshi!" she called again, still smiling absentmindedly.
"Hmm, sollu," Harshitha asked, not taking her eyes off the screen. A message popped up from Vikram. She opened WhatsApp to see him typing.
Vikram✉// Harshitha✉
"Hii
'Hey!!'
typing...
"Miss you so much pondati!!!!!"
"Miss you too mama!!"
Harshitha facepalmed, already knowing what Vikram would reply, sure enough, it read,
"Awwww!! We saw just half an hour ago, it okay as you miss me so much that you can't even sleep. I will sacrifice my sleep for you. Come out"
"You messaged me first mister! And I'm not meeting you this late at night. I know what you want, and I'm not giving it, and You don't have to sacrifice YOUR PRECIOUS SLEEP FOR ME.
SO GOOD NIGHT!!."
"Pondati?"
"Baby?"
"Darling?"
"Thangamey?"
Vikram's message kept popping in, so she switched off her mobile data to concentrate on what Vihana is trying to tell her.
'Harshi'
"Ni inum edum sollalaiyama? Sollu!." Harshitha exclaimed, looking at Vihana, who still looked dazed for some reason.
(Still, you didn't tell? Tell!)
"Naa onu kekava?" Vihana asked, looking at Harshitha with an anticipating look. Her mouth in a pout and her eyes glistening with innocence.
(Can I ask you something?")
"Keka vena nu sonnalum ni keka tha pora. So kelu!" She rolled her eyes and laid back on the bed.
(Even if I refuse, you are going to tell anyway. so, ask!")
"You know."
"I know?"
"You know."
"I know?"
"You-"
"Ada chi sollu!"
(Ugh. Just tell)
"whyharidontevenkissmeonmycheekandhedontevenholdmyhand?"
"Excuse me, can you please speak in human language?" Harshitha sighed, getting enough of these siblings today.

"Why Hari doesn't initiate anything? My friends all had their first kiss in the first month of them dating themselves. I didn't even have my first hug, and he doesn't even hold my hands, you know." Vihana complained, her shoulder slumped down, her cheerful mood disappeared totally in an instant.
"Viha, it's been only 3 months since you both are into this relationship. You know we girls should save ourselves from heartbreak. Sometimes we might think we know this person the most, but they might not be like that! They might be a whole different person outside." Harshitha explained, looking at Vihana, who nodded in understanding.
"I'm not telling my brother is a bad guy, but I know him only as a brother, son, and cousin, not as a lover. I don't know how he behaves with you know now. So, it's okay to wait for taking that step." Harshitha stated softly, holding Vihana's hands.
"I will tell you something about our story. You know that Vikram proposed to me when I was in 8th std. I didn't accept right away. Only after three months, I accepted his proposal, and We didn't even hold hands for a year!! But now-"
"Ohh! please spare me the details Harshi. I already saw everything that happened this morning. You both didn't even notice I was awake this morning." Vihana exclaimed dramatically, cutting her off.
"Don't you guys' even fear that you might get caught, kissing in the hallway that too in the daylight, but you guys were so busy smooching as if it's the end of your lives!" Vihana continued, smirking at her as her face changed from confusion to horror. Harshitha looked at her wide-eyed, the last sentence brought a blush to her already blushing cheeks.
"Omg!" Embarrassed, Harshitha hid behind the pillow as she cursed Vikram in her mind. That is why she is always cautious to be near Vikram inside their home, but he is unstoppable, kissing and hugging her whenever he gets a chance.
"And it was very tough to act asleep, you know. I even snored so you two won't get suspicious. And added to that, my brother has the audacity to glare at me." Vihana frowned, thinking about how her brother glared at her sleeping form as if she was some criminal. He is the criminal in this case. Entering the girl's room early morning, kissing her dear cousin. Hmph.

(ahem ahem, Vihana 12 pm is not an early morning. It is afternoon, darling!" The writer reminded, facepalming at her character's words.")
"Okay, STOP!!! Goodnight." Harshitha huffed, covering her face with the blanket shutting down Vihana's rant, but the latter kept embarrassing further with more information.

In the boy's room
Vikram waited for her reply, but she went offline, pouring water to his midnight dreams. He just wanted to say her goodnight and hug her. Is it too much to ask?.
("Really?" The writer narrowed her eyes, knowing what was running through his head.)
Okay, and maybe a good night kiss.
With a huff, Vikram lay down on the bed, planning a hundred ways to punish his darling for leaving him in the middle of the chat.

The Next Morning 8.30A.M.
Vihaan beamed at his mother as she placed his favorite chapati and bowl of paneer butter masala on the table. The gravy looked so inviting, so he started gobbling up the chapati as soon as she kept one on his plate.
He closed his eyes as the masala and paneer melted in his taste buds. First came the masala's spicy taste and then the sweet paneer. The combination of these both made him hum in delight.
"Patti!! Inda kaiku oru thangam valayal-, no! vairam valayal eh podalam." He exclaimed, enjoying the exotic taste of his grandma's handmade food.
(Grandma!! For this hand, we can put a gold bangle- no! Diamond bangle itself) (Note: Like presenting these for cooking this tasty food).
"Neega elarum nala saptaleh podum kanna, vairam valayal lam vena thangam." Patti patted his head and served him one more chapati.
(You all eating well is enough for me, I don't need a diamond bangle and all dear.)
"Unaku kuda vangi tharanum nu thonutu, unga thatha um irukarareh." Patti exclaimed, giving a stink eye to her husband.
(Even you think of buying me something but you grandpa.)
"Oh, anda locker la iruka mupadhu paun negai yaru vangi thandanga nu kelu." Thatha countered back sarcastically, giving his wife a playful glare.
(Oh, then can you please ask her who bought those 30 sovereigns of jewel that are in the locker?)
"Ahem ahem, Kitchen la edo karugutu nu nenikiren, I'll check that." Patti hurried inside, escaping her husband's question.
(Ahem ahem, I think something is burning in the kitchen, I'll check that)
Everyone laughed out as thatha followed her to tease further. Suddenly Harshitha yelped, startling everyone.
"Ena achu?" Hari asked her, looking at her funny expression.
(What happened?)
"Nothing." Harshith smiled sheepishly, trying to remove her leg from Vikram's hold. Her breath hitched as he tightened his hold on her more. The harder she tried removing her legs, the stronger his hold became.
This has become his new habit, to lock her legs with his legs under the table for every meal.
She seriously needs to stop spoiling him. First lying to Siddarth Brother, kissing her in the hallway, and now this. If this continues, they are surely going to get caught. She doesn't know why but her instinct says something is going to happen.

"Vikram!" Harshitha shouted as Vikram laughed, settling her down on her feet. She took deep breaths, trying to calm her heartbeat. She just entered the backyard to relax, but Vikram had other plans as he suddenly carried her inside the storeroom.
"Why are you ignoring me?" He complained, hugging her gently. He was trying to get her attention from the morning, but she kept ignoring him, and she didn't even come online this morning.
"You should stop kissing and hugging me out of nowhere. We should be careful Vikram. I'm already stressed about what if Siddarth sir tells our family about us, on top of that you told him our family already know about our love. I'm so scared Vikram!" Harshitha confessed, slowly pulling out the hug.
"Don't worry. I think he won't expose us. Maybe he will tell Prathy Akka. I don't get any bad vibes from him, and even if any problem occurs, I think he might help us convince our family." Vikram stated, drawing her into his arms.
"I don't know, but I'm scared," Harshitha mumbled, leaning her head against his chest. She snuggled closer in his arms as he hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead.

The Girl He Used To Know - An UnderCurrent Story
Pierre Havelock is an author, atleast now he is. In truth 3 decades ago Pierre was dragged across space & time only to land on our boring old earth. So when one of his 'characters', a girl based on someone he once knew in his past life, appears before him - Pierre is less than best pleased. He is even less happy when said girl decides to make his house her new home! __Now on Royal-Road! ‘The Girl he Used To Know’ began life when I came across a rather silly prompt on a web-novel site I was using; "Theme: My 2D waifu is now my real life Valentine's!?"Well with a title like that I couldn’t help but be interested by the idea of leaving my usual writing niche and trying something a bit more novel. Tying it loosely back to my main series ‘UnderCurrent’, ‘GUK’ was born as a standalone romance novella which you are now holding, styled with Japanese tropes in mind from a more western perspective.I hope you will find this to be an interesting and fun read - Designed with the intent of being a somewhat contemplative and ‘cosy’ story - Whatever the case I thank you for picking it up and giving it a once over.- Momentie __I adapted Draft 2 to audio - I can't voice act, or edit, yet I kinda like it & find it personally the best way to enjoy the story😂 - https://youtu.be/kNWiSiZU53U
