《PRINCESS ANARCHY | Dream SMP》12. An Ally, a Traitor and the Enemy

Asks Sara, looking for the outfit she had prepared for the festival a day before. It's a dress splashed with colors of red, orange, yellow, blue and purple.
"I haven't seen it since you tried it on yesterday," says Nia, shrugging.
Sara groans, annoyed, hurrying past Nia to try and look into other rooms and chests.
"I have a question," Nia shouts after the redhead. Sara only makes a strange sound in response, which Nia takes as a 'continue'. "Can I use your ender chest?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever!"
"Thanks!" Nia smiles.
She's realized she hasn't checked her ender chest since the time she appeared in the Dream SMP, and figured it might be useful. She's left things in it even before she disappeared. They should still be in.
And considering she doesn't know what might happen during the Manburg festival, it might be better to come armed to the teeth.
. . . or at least subtly.
Nia makes her way to the main hall of Sara's house, knowing that that's where her ender chest is, right next to the random rubbish chests.
"Alright," Nia mumbles to herself, clasping her hands together. Taking a deep breath, she opens the chest, half-expecting what she'll see inside.
On the very top of the chest lies Nia's netherite tools and trident. She smiles at it, remembering that she acquired all of these tools with Dream, George and Sapnap.
Well, the trident she got from a journey with Dream only, since Sapnap was out doing whatever and George was simply nowhere to be found. Which isn't abnormal, as he's usually not found.
And Eret, from his journeys across SMPs, brought Nia mending books for all of her items.
Taking out her trident, she eyes it with a smile. One thing was getting the trident after hours of sailing the seas with Dream and having to fight two of the Drowned with tridents. Of course, there were way more Drowned without the weapon.
Nia weighs the weapon in her hands, standing up with it to try a few maneuvers, wondering whether she'd forgotten everything she'd learned. She wonders if Dream still uses his trident. If not for fighting, then perhaps flying. After all, they both chose to enchant the blue weapon with riptide rather than channelling and loyalty. Although those two enchantments would also be useful.

Putting the trident down, Nia begins to look inside the ender chest more. She pulls out her axe meant purely for woodcutting, two pickaxes and shovels, and a hoe. Though she doesn't remember the last time she farmed. Or had to farm, at that.
The princess leaves all of her tools laying on the floor, finally pulling out her fully enchanted netherite armor. That one, actually, was a present from Eret.
She dons a rueful smile, eyeing the amor. She wishes Eret remembered her.
Nevertheless, she's most definitely taking the armor to the festival along with her weapons.
Looking deeper into the chest, she discovers there's a bow as well. It was hidden underneath the armor along with many other things.
The bow has a word carved in its handle.
DREAM.
She remembers this one. Dream gave her the crossbow with this name, when he made one for himself, as well. Except his bow is named NIGHTMARE, if she's not mistaken.
There are only three more items left in the chest. One of them being her tiara. It's golden with an amethyst in the middle.
The second item is a dagger. The blade, ironically, has BLADE carved on it, and Nia laughs, blinking away the tears that appear in her eyes as she reminisces of the gift that Technoblade gave her for her birthday. He thought he was funny with that one. And Nia laughed, despite the joke being horrible.
The last item . . . it's one that holds most of Nia's regret. Because, despite having a good time after she ran from her kingdom, she always missed Technoblade. She always knew she would.
But she also knew she didn't have to.
If she'd left the letter for him.
At the very bottom of the ender chest lies a red envelope, Technoblade scribbled on it in her handwriting. The letter contains many things. A goodbye. A plea for Technoblade to leave with her. And an admission.
Maybe if she had left the latter out, she wouldn't have chickened out and actually left the letter for him.
Maybe he wouldn't be so hostile with her if she had told him the truth earlier . . . or at all.

But it's too late now.
There's a knock on the door, surprising Nia. She jerks away and falls onto the tools she left laying behind her. Her hand gets pricked by the trident, and she curses under her breath, thinking of the nuance it is. Sure, it will heal fast, but she didn't have to get scared in the first place.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you! Are you alright?" asks perhaps the sweetest voice Nia has ever heard.
The princess looks up at a girl she recognizes from photos around both Sara's house and Pogtopia. Niki Nihachu is beautiful. Her hair is blonde, and when Nia stands up, she finds herself to be taller than Niki.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm okay," says Nia, nodding and waving her unhurt hand in the air.
Niki raises an eyebrow at the dark-haired woman, approaching her to take a proper look at Nia's bleeding hand. It doesn't look okay, blood slowly dripping down her fingers and onto the floor.
But when Niki takes Nia's hand in hers and flips it over, the wounds are gone. But the blood after them stays.
Nia swiftly pulls back her hand and purses her lips.
"What- whe- how?" Niki questions, perplexed.
"I have a regenerating ability," says Nia with a nonchalant shrug. "One of the things that mean I actually really do have the spirit of a goddess residing inside of me."
"You- you're-"
"Ignore her, Niki, please," Sara comes inside the room. She's wearing the dress that she was looking for.
Eyeing the mess Nia made when she'd pulled out all of the things she had in her ender chest, Sara frowns. It deepens once her blue eyes land on the blood on the floor.
"I'll clean it up," Nia says.
"You better."
"You haven't told me she can regenerate!" Niki exclaims, looking at Sara with a look of hurt. "You said you don't know what powers she might have."
"Well, I don't really want people to necessarily know," says Sara, shaking her head. "Do you know how easy it would be to exploit right now?"
"I can take care of myself."
"Then why are you friends with Dream?"
"What?" Niki's head snaps in Nia's direction.
"Because outside of all of you, besides Technoblade and Eret, I've known him the longest," states Nia.
"An ally, a traitor and the enemy. You have quite the assortment of people you know from before."
"I also know Sapnap."
"He killed my fox," Niki frowns. "And Tommy's cow, Henry."
"And George."
"My ex." Sara purses her lips.
"Okay, to be fair, those aren't my problems. Those are you problems, and I don't really like to deal with those, when I have enough of mine." Nia shakes her head, throwing her arms in the air.
She starts cleaning up the mess she made, hiding away her tools. The only things she keeps are her armor and the Blade, hooking it on her belt.
"You're not going to the festival in full armor with weapons, are you?" asks Sara, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Why couldn't I?" Nia questions challengingly.
"I dunno, I just don't think it's practical, when we're supposed to have fun."
"I can have fun in full armor, too," Nia remarks, especially thinking of the fact that she knows there are several stacks of TNT interlacing the land. If something else doesn't go wrong at the festival already. This will.
". . . okay." Sara purses her lips.
"Schlatt knows I'm friends with Dream, I think that wanting to be fully prepared for a possible attack is reasonable."
"You really have known Technoblade for years, huh."
