Alex's POV

As she turned and walked away, I felt her emotions radiate off her. Every hint of anger had faded and nothing was left but sadness. Biting my bottom lip, I decided to let her go and headed back into my room.

Taking a deep breath, the smell of her bounced off every wall. I'd forbid anyone, even my own family from coming in here after Rose had left. Nothing and no one was going to take away her smell.

before I could collect my thoughts, there was a small knock at my door.

"Master, it's Scarlet." Letting out a small growl, I swung the door open so fast, the breeze makes the human shiver where she stood.

"What?"

"I was told to come up, you requested another slave?"

"I have no need for you, leave!" Before she could even respond, I walked past he and slammed my bedroom door behind me.

I followed her scent throughout the house, tracking where she had been. She'd spent a lot of time in the hallways, but not so much in the ballroom.

Standing before her door I listened carefully, hearing her soft snores, knowing it was safe I opened it and walked inside.

The room was dark, but I could make out her figure on the bed. Some nights she woke and found me in here, other nights she slept soundly until morning. But in those rare occasions, I just took away her memory of me , and it was like she never even knew I was here.

These moments. Nighttime . . . was MY time with her. She never knew I was here. She has no clue about me holding her while she slept peacefully every single night.

Taking my normal place in bed, I wrapped a single arm over her waist and as always, her body instantly moved into mine . . .

"Yes, Master Tavish would greatly like it if you could attend his party with your mistress, Master Poe." I just stood around and watched as everyone ran around like headless chickens. Funny, until yesterday, no one was panicking or anything. But everything had to be ready for Alex's Birthday.

"That's great, he'll be pleased to hear it, goodbye." As soon as Cinders hung up the phone, she let out a long sigh.

"If this is like . . . his 5000th birthday, why is everyone making such a big deal out of it?"

"Ha! As if. It's only his 400th . . . and it's a big deal BECAUSE it's his 400th!"

"Ewww, he's so old!" She just laughed.

"Not the oldest by far Rose. Right . . . now to get ahold of Kane. I swear this pig is harder to get ahold of than Dracula." She meant it as a joke obviously, but who knows . . . maybe it wasn't . . . after all, Vampires are real here.

"Who's Kane?"

"Master Alexander's brother. He's older in human years but younger in vampire years, so it's confusing to say if it's his younger or older brother." She explained.

"There's more Tavish' ?"

"Much more." I felt my eyes widen.

"How many more?" She looked up at me, dropping her pen and resting her face in her hands.

"Well . . . obviously Alex, Fang, Desmond, and Parker." I nodded, even though I hadn't met Desmond yet, he was Alex's younger brother. "Then there's Kane, Reta Alex's mother, Samson his father, and thennn . . . Drew he's um . . . well . . ."

"Well?"

"He's Alex's husband we-"

"HUSBAND?!?" Everyone in the whole room turned and looked at us, what the fuck! He was gay??

"Alex is a rare vampire who prefers the sexual company of both men and women . . . I think in human terms it means he's Bi-sexual." I just stared wide-eyed. To be honest, I've heard nothing since husband!

"Husband?" I repeated. "Has he been married to anyone else?"

"There was one girl, Imogene but-"

"Right!" My anger was sky high at the moment! How could he have not told me this! He has a husband . . . AND A WIFE! That was seriously NOT okay!
