《Forced: Kidnapped by a Vampire Master (Book One)》Chapter 21

I wasn't really paying any attention to where my feet were taking me until I ended up in the kitchen. I guess my stomach was controlling my movement. Luckily no one was in there. It was still working hours and the kitchen staff were more than likely helping set up in the main room for Alex's party that was fast approaching.
Grabbing the basic things to make a sandwich, I sat down at the table and started to eat.
I WOULDN'T let myself get all mixed up in what I had just seen. Alexander Tavish wasn't worth it. He wasn't worth anything.
Just as the thought passed through my mind, the door opened . . . and Cinders walked in. I couldn't even look at her.
"Rose?" I ignored her, "Rose, please talk to me."
Without saying a word, I stood up, put my plate in the sink and left.
I know it wasn't her fault. She wouldn't have had a choice in the matter, but, right now I DIDN'T want to see her or talk to her.
So, once again, I found myself wandering around the house. Nothing to do, nowhere to go. And then it dawned on me . . . I haven't really explored the outside yet. Not properly.
I sat down on a grassy hill about 5 minutes from the house, but it was still in view. Any hopes I had of finding a way out of here and get home were ripped away when I realized, looking out over the gardens, it was just miles and miles of fields and woods. There was nothing around and by the looks of it, the only way in or out was down a stony driveway that ran through the gardens and disappeared into the dark trees.
Sighing, I laid back and closed my eyes. It had gotten really sunny and quite warm. Surprisingly. Too bad the rumor of 'vampires can't come out in the daytime' was bull.

"Well, that's not a very nice thought." My body froze when I heard Alex's voice, but I kept my eyes closed.
"Go away." I heard him sit down next to me.
"I'm sorry you saw that."
"Piss off." He let out a big, angry sigh but kept his mouth shut. When I felt his hand brush against mine, I stood up and began to walk away.
"Rose, I'll just chase you, you know there's no point in running." I didn't actually think about running, but he was right, what was the point. None-the-less, my walking began to quicken . . . and so did his.
"Alex, leave me alone!" That's when I started running, not to run away . . . just to get away from him, I didn't want to see him. Or speak to him.
I managed to hit the woods and suddenly became covered under the trees, the sunlight blocked and darkness took over. I couldn't hear him following me so I stopped.
Suddenly, something pushed me against a tree. Looking up, I was surprised to see Kane was the one who had a grip on me, smiling as he pinned me to the trunk.
"Shhh." As he said that, I saw Alex walk past. Groaning in defeat, he turned around and headed back towards the house.

Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them

Success means survival and earning respect and acceptance, especially from Morgan, his attractive but snarky Goth classmate. But Spence discovers Nibiru is more a world of science fiction than fantasy, and they are just unwitting pawns in a deadly scheme of the gods. If completing the quest doesn’t result in their return to Earth, the party may have to do the unthinkable and challenge the gods themselves.
