《SINNER - Klaus Mikaelson》THIRTY FIVE

Klaus could feel the anger rising in his throat— the pure rage that felt like acidic stomach bile creating a burning feeling. He cursed himself for leaving her here, for not making sure she was properly protected. He thought his brother was pay attention, but he was wrong.
"How could you let this happen?!" Klaus spat, shoving Elijah against the wall of his now empty bedroom.
"Niklaus I came as soon as I heard any sort of noise— she wanted to nap!" Elijah yelled, shoving his brother off him. "What am I to do? Follow her into your bedroom? I don't think you would have liked that."
Klaus scoffed under his breath. His brothers timing on taking digs at him was classic Elijah he thought.
"For all this pomp and fuss you make about this baby being the saving grace for this family, about Adeline being practically an angel walking you do a horrible job protecting her!" He yelled, grabbing Elijah by the suit collar and tossing him.
The original vampire picked himself up off the floor and dusted off his suit. He looked at his brother with a angry glare— he wanted to hit him or throw him back in retaliation but they didn't have time. They couldn't waste another moment, they needed to find Adeline.
"We need to find her Niklaus." Elijah huffed.
Klaus turned and stomped down the stairs, catching the attention of everyone in the house. It was obvious to everyone something was very wrong.
"What it is?" Kol questioned , looking between his two distraught brothers.
"Someone has taken Adeline." Klaus spoke through gritted teeth. He was seconds away from absolutely losing it. He was worried, so worried he felt sick and that kind of emotion in Klaus was channeled into rage.
"What?" Stefan gasped, staring at Klaus with wide eyes.
"And it seems they left us a parting gift." Klaus held up the syringe that was once filled with vervain.
"Oh my god." Elena began to weep. "We have to find her."
"Little witch." Klaus said turning to Bonnie. "Going to need you to do a locator spell, think you can handle that?"
"Yes." Bonnie didn't hesitate. "Bring me something of importance to Adeline.
"Already got it." Klaus dangled the diamond necklace he gave Adeline back in mystic falls. He found it on the floor, it had fallen off her neck during the struggle of the capture.
Bonnie got to work, using the necklace to try and pinpoint the location of his wife and their friend.
***
It was dark— there was a hood placed over Adelines head. She was slowing regaining her consciousness. She could hear voices, but couldn't make out who they were— not until they abruptly pulled the hood off her head and there stood Marcel.
"Morning sunshine!" He yelled, a devilish smirk on his face.
"Marcel." She spat. Her arms were bound behind her back with ropes laced in vervain. Every time she moved it felt like a hot iron branding her skin. She struggled for a moment, trying to break them free.
"I wouldn't do that." He smiled. "You'll only make it worse on yourself.
"Let me go Marcel!" She shouted.
He laughed under his breath, pacing in front of the chair he had her sat on. He had what was left of his pathetic army standing with him.
"Look Adeline, I've got nothing against you, other than your poor taste in men. But you seem like a great girl." He admitted. "Unfortunately for you, you went and got knocked up by one of the evilest vampires or I guess hybrid to ever live— a magical baby. A baby the quarter cannot afford, a baby I cannot allow to be born."

"My baby has nothing to do with your war for control for he quarter!" She yelled.
"That's where you are wrong! It has everything to do with it." He argued. "The witches say your baby is going to be the most powerful thing to step foot in the quarter.. makes sense if you think about it original hybrid and vampire make a baby... there's no way it's not."
Adeline rolled her eyes, she hated the witches. If it wasn't for them, she probably wouldn't be in this position— had they just kept there mouths shut her and her baby would be okay.
"I'm sick of these witches and there evil proclamations about my baby— it's just a baby!"
"I wish that were true." He huffed. "I got a thing about not harming kids— but I have to do what I have to do."
"Marcel." She begged. "Please it's my baby. It's my chance— it's Klaus's chance!"
"You think I give a damn about Klaus's chance?"
Marcel shouted. "He killed half my men, half my family!"
"Marcel you tried to kill me— his wife, his baby." She pointed out. "What did you expect? You knew he would retaliate, and you knew you couldn't kill him. It is you who sentenced your family to their death."
He stared at Adeline, clenching his fists by his side. Her words his hit like a ton of bricks— she was right. He sentenced them to their death and for what? Control of the quarter? He couldn't admit that she was right, he tried to push it away. The guilt of there deaths would eat him alive.
"You're wrong." He snapped. "And I don't give a damn about klaus or you or your miracle baby. The quarter is all I have left— I have to protect it."
Adeline remembered listening to Klaus and Elijah talk about Marcel. He used to be kind, have a big heart. He even fell in love with Rebekah so she knew he was capable of compassion. Also seeing the way he loved his friends told her he did have a heart, she just needed to find it.
"This baby is my life— just like the quarter is for you." She admitted. "I lost my mom to cancer— it was awful and painful but I promised myself I would be a good mom to my kids one day, like she was to me. I promised I would tell them about their grandma even though they would never meet her. And then I got turned into a vampire and any hope of being a mother, of knowing that love— it was gone. But then, Klaus happened and this happened. This is my miracle, this is my everything. Please don't take that away from me."
Marcel listened to every word, he felt every word. There were a few things he expected to feel when he kidnapped Adeline to kill her— rage, betrayal, vengeance but he never expected to feel sad or guilt.
"Please." She pleaded. "You know if you kill me, you still won't have the quarter back. He will kill you."
"Not if I run." He shrugged.
"He will hunt you to the ends of the earth, he will never stop. You will spend the rest of your existence on the run— and forever is a long time Marcel."
He paced back and forth in front of her. She was right, this wasn't going to end well for him either way. He didn't even know what he end game was, he didn't plan it. He just listened to Mikayla gas him up, talk him into this being the only way out.

"I'm dead either way now." He sighed.
"I can protect you." She promised. "I can make sure Klaus doesn't kill you."
She meant what she said. If he spared her and her babies life, she would make sure his was spared.
"Marcel." Davina said, walking into the room. "Someone is doing magic— I can feel it."
"It's a locator spell. They are trying to find Adeline." Marcel huffed. "When it's over and they think they know where she is— we move her."
"Marcel—" Adeline pleaded.
He didn't say anything, he watched as Davina stood with her eyes closed— feeling the magic.
"It's over." She announced.
Everyone began to move quickly. They put the good back over Adeline eyes and someone was carrying her. If they were going to kill her, she didn't know why he was waiting. She thought maybe he was having second thoughts and wanted to buy himself some time to think.
"Let's go people! If Klaus knows where she is it's only a matter of minutes!" Marcel yelled.
She felt her body be tossed into a trunk of a car and they were moving— driving down the road.
****
Klaus and the rest of the group pulled up to the warehouse Bonnie said she would be, but when they walked inside it was completely empty. There was nothing, just a chair in the middle of the room Adeline used to be tied to.
"They knew we were coming." Klaus yelled. "They knew we were coming!!!!"
He picked the chair up and tossed it across the room. Pacing back and forth in frustration.
"Again!" He ordered, staring at Bonnie. "Do the damn spell again!"
Bonnie pulled the map out of her bag and spread it across the floor, leaning down onto the group. She held her hand out, requesting for Klaus to give her the necklace and a few drops of his blood. She could get a stronger read on her location using the blood of her husband.
Klaus rubbed his temples and watched as the young witch worked. He was angry, and it was getting worse by the minute. Mikayla walked over by him and placed her hands on his shoulders
"It's going to be okay Klaus." She whispered. "I'm here for you. We will find her and if not, I'll still be here."
Klaus barely glanced at her— he had no interest in anything she was saying. She stepped up on the tips of her toes and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Elijah was watching and he narrowed his eyes at the interaction. The wheels inside his head were spinning, something was weird about the way she touched Klaus and coddled him. Stefan was paying attention to, watching Elijahs reaction to them as well. He knew this may be his chance to voice his suspicion.
The youngest Salvatore walked beside Elijah and leaned in. "I didn't realize those two were so close."
"They aren't." Elijah answered.
"Can I ask you something?" Stefan questioned.
"I'd prefer you didn't— but you have your free will." He huffed.
"Did Mikayla know about Adelines pregnancy— I mean before all this?"
Elijah stayed silent for a moment, he looked straight ahead like he was thinking then back to the Salvatore.
"Why are you asking me that?" He questioned, furrowing his brows.
"Because I don't think the witches helped Marcel." Stefan admitted quietly. "And I find it odd how they snatched Adeline at the perfect moment— when they knew Klaus was gone. And because of that." Stefan gestured towards Mikayla who was still standing so close to Klaus they were touching, she was staring up at him with hopeful eyes.
"What are you trying to say?" Elijah huffed.
"Did Mikayla know or not Elijah?"
He contemplated answering the young vampire, he owed him nothing. He didn't like the way he was insinuating things about the girl he loved but he wasn't blind either, something was off. It could just be paranoia, the Mikaelsons were known to be privy to that. He also knew if what Stefan was guessing at was right, Klaus may blame him.
"She knew." He answered reluctantly.
"Do you want to know what I think?" He whispered.
"Found her! There!" Bonnie shouted, pointing at the blood trail on the map.
"Let's go!" Klaus ordered and everyone took off outside of the warehouse. Except for Stefan and Elijah, who stood still in place for a moment longer.
"I'm curious to hear your theory." Elijah gestured for him to keep talking.
"I think Mikayla isn't as nice as you think. I think she is using you, but really she wants Klaus. And she knows the only way she will have a chance in hell at him is if Adeline is out of the picture." He started.
"So you think she told Marcel and conspired with him to kill Adeline." Elijah finished.
"And I think you do too." Stefan admitted then followed the rest of the group outside. They needed to hurry before Marcel had a chance to switch places again.
****
This time when they took the hood off Adelines head it looked like she was in an old run down house. It smelt like old wood and must.
"Nice place." She scoffed looking at Marcel. Her hands and feet were still bound by vervain ropes.
"Just an old place I keep around for situations like this." He admitted.
"Situations like wanting to murder a innocent pregnant lady and her baby?"
"You're married to Klaus Mikaelson... that hardly makes you innocent." He scoffed.
"We can't choose who we love and we don't pick our soulmates." She sighed. "But you know some would say the same about you— about being evil. I mean look what you are doing here."
This struck a cord with Marcel. He didn't intend to be this guy, this mean and fearful guy. Never in his hundreds of year had he even considered hurting a child— and a pregnant women was definitely beneath him.
"You're right." He admitted, shaking his head.
"So let me go Marcel. I can make sure Klaus doesn't kill you." She promised. "My baby— whatever powers she may or may not have is just a baby. A little girl who will be raised the best way I know how, the way my mom did. I will raise her to be good."
Marcel shook his head and smiled at Adeline. He could tell now why both Elijah and Klaus loved her. He could tell why after a thousand years Klaus finally married and it was her. She was beautiful, he couldn't ignore that but she was kind— she was good. It was hard not to find her charming.
"Untie her." He ordered and two vampires came behind her with a knife and cut the vervain ropes off her body.
"I can't hurt you or your baby." He sighed. "My beef has always been with Klaus— old wounds from the past neither of us can seem to heal."
"You should try." She smiled. "I know you were important to him."
"You are good, kind— you know that?"
"I know." She smiled. "I guess not good enough for the witches not to try and get me killed."
"The witches?" Marcel questioned.
"Yeah— I know they told you about the baby and conspired with you." She shrugged. "Klaus has probably killed them all by now."
Marcel looked at Adeline with both shock and confusion.
"The witches didn't tell me anything." He admitted.
"Wait— what? Then who did?"
"Mikayla did— this whole thing was her plan if I'm being honest."
"Mikayla?" She huffed.
"Yeah— and judging off your face I'm going to guess you thought she was a friend."
Adeline laughed under her breath, shaking her head. "No, I never thought she was a friend of mine."
Adeline heard car doors closing and footsteps, Marcel did too because he perked his head up in response. She knew it was Klaus, she could feel it.
"He's here." Marcel breathed.
"Don't worry." She promised.
When Klaus stepped into the room she could see the anger dripping off him like water. He was going to kill everyone in this room if she didn't stop him. She stood up off the chair and ran across the room, he waited for her with open arms, wrapping her into his embrace.
"Are you alright?" He questioned. "Have you been hurt? The baby?"
"The baby and I are fine." She smiled.
Mikayla shot a look over at Marcel, it was a look of surprise and anger. She had expected Adeline to be dead and yet, here she was. Stefan gave Adeline a hug followed by the rest of her friends and lastly Elijah.
"I'm so glad you are okay." He admitted. She nodded at him with a smile.
In a flash he dashed across the room and ripped out the hearts of two of Marcels assistance. He turned his attention back to Marcel, a smirk on his face.
"I guess this is how it ends then old friend." Klaus announced. "You try to kill my wife and child— I kill you."
"Klaus wait don't." Adeline pleaded. "He let me go. He was never going to actually hurt me."
"Never going to actually hurt you?" Klaus scoffed. "He shot you in the neck with vervain and kidnapped you from our house! He staked you in the chest at the altar and had he not missed your heart, you would be dead!"
"Klaus, Marcel has been alive for hundreds of years, if he wanted to hit my heart he would have." Adeline insisted. "He never really wanted to kill me— he was just afraid and angry with you."
"I don't care how he felt. No one does what he did and gets away with it!" Klaus yells, dashing across the room and grabbing Marcel by the neck.
"Klaus please!!!" Adeline shouted. "He's not who we want dead— it's someone else."
"Who?" Klaus demanded holding Marcel off the ground. Everyone was watching Adeline with cautious eyes, waiting for her answer.
"It was Mikayla." She shouted. Klaus immediately released his grip on Marcel and dropped him onto the floor. He snapped his head Mikayla as did Elijah.
"You." Klaus scowled. "Why would you do this?"
"Mikayla—" Elijah choked. "Tell me this is not true."
"She doesn't deserve you Klaus. Her and that demon baby were only in my way but don't worry baby, this won't be the last time you see me." Mikayla looked over at Adeline and scoffed, smirking at her before she dashed towards the exit. Stefan and Elijah ran after her but she had already vanished. She was quick, she had an exit plan because she knew as soon as she saw Adeline she might get caught.
"She's gone." Stefan breathed.
"She can't run forever— she will slip up and when she does, I will find her and I'll kill that bitch myself." Klaus snarled.
Adeline walked up beside Klaus who was staring out the door of the old house, like he was looking to see if she was out there. She wrapped her arm in with his.
"We will find her." She promised. "But for now, let's go home husband." Klaus smiled down at her, he liked the sound of that.
"Let's go home." He smiled, kissing her forehead.

Spiko's Journey
This is a Story of Spiko. An once normal cat, now a cat-girl. Which found herself in a new world. Searching for her home and anything that can hold her attention long enough. Join Spiko on her travels, in a world that is as unforgiving as it is breath taking. Be warned. This is a somewhat slow burn story. I expect that I will need a few chapters to get the rough outlines out there. General Info: -I really do this mostly, cause i need to freshen up my grammar and stuff. So, I will go over these chapters a lot, if I find errors (or you find them). I will mark revised chapters and what I changed in them ( if it is of importance to the story). I'm sorry for anything i might unleash onto the world. -There will be a little of everything in this. But I will never do harem stuff. Or horror just for the sake of it being horrific. No needless bad popes, bandits that rape villagers. Just for a hero to save the day. No stupid tropes. No OP Powers that can call forth doom to anyone. Spiko has Plot Armor as thick as any MC that you can't really kill off for good. But no Demon Lord will trip over a pebble, onto a peel of any fruit of choice and then die in a comedic way. When she needs saving. She's a tough cookie, which will find ways to get out of trouble (or into it). -Yes, the picture shows Spiko in her true glory. Before a lot of other stuff happened to her. And yes, Spiko is a weird Name for a cat. I'm weird. -Thoughts of Spiko are in Cursive = Why is that flower blue? -Descriptions and passive observational stuff that is coming from 3rd person view is in normal = There stood a blue flower, as Spiko shifted her wary gaze. -Distinct sounds are in bold = Swish (goes the cat paw on that blue flower!) -Talking is as always in "Hey, stop that!" -System stuff will be in tables = [Stat gain Stuff and so on] -There will be light GameLit stuff. I won't overdo it and if i do anything GameLit, it will have a reason and explanation. Do excuse the table formatting. I'm not great with word processor programs. -I'm crazy. Updates: Saturdays + whenever I feel like it (atm about 2~4 chapters a weekend + maybe weekdays. I guess?).
