《The Steele Brothers (Completed)》19. Grey

I can feel how tense Viri is as I guide her into our class, waving goodbye to Ash and Jett who had flanked us as we made our way here.
"Just Two hours sweetie, then he will be back, he promised you" I remind her and she nods but is still biting at her lip.
"Stop it" I growl at her, my finger coming up to tug it free and she smiles reluctantly.
"You don't know my cousin, what if..." she starts and I stop, pulling her round to face me.
"Viri, think about it, they would not have answered the phone or even let Raven speak to you if they were going to do anything to him, now would they?"
She nods and I see a little of the tension ease. "Good, now let get to studying"
The two hour session seems to go on forever today and Viri had spent most of it clock watching and I couldn't blame here, I was worried about Raven as well. When the final bell went, she was off, stuffing books into her bag as she rushed out the door, with me hot on her heels.
"Raven!" she shouted and dropped her bag, running towards him, I grinned as he gathered her up into his arms and swung her round as she hugged him as tightly as her tiny frame could around his huge body.
Scooping her bag up before someone fell over it, I joined them, fist bumping my brother as he grinned at me over her head. I knew we were being watched by all the students around us, Raven was a well known figure on the campus and with his slightly dour reputation, this sort of display was very unlike him. I wondered just what her cousin had said to him.
His arms wrapped her up tighter to him and he dropped his face into the crook of her neck, I was glad she was wearing jeans as her legs came up and circled his waist, they looked almost fused together.

Suddenly I realised That I had been watching them myself, that I didn't feel any jealousy, I was just glad she was happy again and that he was safe. For the first time since we had talked about it, I wondered if sharing her was the way forward.
"They look good together don't they" Jett says quietly by my side and I turn to look at him, he was the main objector to sharing her but he sounded almost content, happy to see them together.
"They do" I agree scanning his face, "You good about this?" I query and he nods.
"After this morning and her reaction at lunchtime, I've been thinking about her and us non stop and whilst I would love her to be mine... I don't think I am enough for her, not alone" he gives me a sheepish look and I laugh and pull him into a hug.
"Welcome to our future bro" I whisper as we watch Raven finally put her back down, her hands roving over him and... poking him.
"Ow" Raven catches her hands in his as she pokes him again. "What the hell, babe!"
I grin at them both "Viri why are you poking him?"
Her bright eyes pin me and I can still see the lurking worry, before she gazes back at Raven.
"Did he hit you" she questions him seriously and he laughs.
"No baby, we just talked I promise" he soothes her.
"Tell me everything" she mutters, freeing her hands and poking him again, making him jump back from her finger as we laugh.
"At home, I will tell you everything, you just need to come home with us" Raven counters her demand and I know we are all waiting for her response.
"For dinner?" She's back to chewing at her lip nervously.
"For ever" Raven grins as she glares up at him, she thinks he is teasing her but i know my brother well, he is serious.

"Viri, we have a spare room... several, you can choose from, just until we sort out Jamison and Sigma Beta, please" I ask, stepping up to Viri's side.
"I can't do that" she hisses at me, her gaze looking panicked "I can't move in with you, my family would freak and and" she tails off looking between us in frustration.
"What's up?" Ash appears looking between us.
"Your brothers are crazy, they took Raven this morning and now" she waves her hand at me "He's asking me to stay at your house, its madness!" she stomps her foot as we all grin at her. "You need to take me seriously, my family is nuts" she warns us all.
"What if your family agreed?" Raven asked quietly and all our eyes swung to him.
"They would never" she's shaking her head.
"Then let's ask them" I suggest. "Raven do you have his number, maybe we should..."
She cuts me off "No, No, No. Do not call them, I will come home with you today and we will play it by ear" she rushes out the words, moving back to Ravens side.
"I need to swing by my dorm room first, you can take me" she glares up at him, still not happy with us for persuading her to come home with us.
Raven laughs and pulls her into his side, his gaze finding me, "You coming?" He asks and I nod, clapping Jett on the back as I push past him and move to Viri's other side.
"See you at home" he tells Ash and Jett before leading Viri towards the car park where his truck is parked.
She's quiet on the short drive to her dorm, her gaze repeatedly finding Raven before skitting away nervously. I get the impression she wants to push him for questions and is fighting her own impatience.
"When I get you home" Raven tells her, not taking his eyes off the road and I grin to myself, my brother the grouchiest person I know is so aware of the delicate female sitting next to him, I had no doubt if she pushed him, he would cave to any demands she made.
Parking at her dorm, Raven gets out and motions for me to follow him. I raise my eyebrows but do as requested and with Viri griping about his highhandedness she leads the way inside. I push the button for the lift, but she shakes her head, at me and starts up the stairs, Raven and I following. I hadn't missed the look of fear that had flashed across her eyes at the lift, and I filed my concern away, I would ask her about that later.
The sounds of the other students behind their closed doors is muted as we walk along the corridor towards her door, then Raven grabs her hand, pulling her behind him and stopping. "Baby, your door is open" he tells her quietly. "Wait here while I check it out" his gaze finds mine and I know I am on guard duty and I pull her into my side as Raven carefully moves forward.
"Fuck!" he mutters before turning back to us, blocking the doorway and her view of the room.
"Let me see" she pulls out of my hold, moving up to Raven and placing her hands on his chest. "Raven, trust me, I'm okay, but I need to see" her voice is clear and strong and after an agonised glance at me over her head, he takes her hand and steps aside, moving his body to surround and support her.
