《The Steele Brothers (Completed)》38. Grey

Today was the day.
I looked across the hall at where Viri was standing talking to Ms Jefferies, I felt my brothers join me and finally Viri realise we were all watching her. Her gaze looking on us and a pretty blush staining her cheeks.
I loved that look, so delicate and innocent and all ours.
Today would be the close of one chapter but it was the start of the next and I couldn't wait. Ravens hand on my shoulder let me know it was time and as a group we crossed the hall. We had debated the best time to do this and although Raven had wanted to build it into his speech we had once again got Dom to pull names and this time I was up.
I slid my hand in my pocket, the velvet box feeling much larger than I knew it was and I gulped, my nerves strangling me as my brothers fanned out behind me and then as one we dropped to one knee at her feet.
Ms Jefferies gasp was louder than Viri's but it didn't matter, all that matter was Viri... and her answer. I pulled out the ring, flicking the box open and holding it up to her as I asked.
"Viridian Waters, you are the colour that lights up our hearts, will you marry us?" I pull the ring free and hold out my hand for hers, grinning as she shaking gives it to me.
"Viridian dear, you need to give them an answer" Ms Jefferies reminds her making us laugh as Viri shouts "Yes" before throwing herself into my arms as I start to stand, Raven bracing me as i lift her up with me.
"Yes?" I query and she laughs repeating her answer "Yes" as I swing her round before passing her to Ash.

"Congratulations, all of you" Ms Jefferies tells us, smiling as Viri is passed from one brother to another. Cheers from other students echoing around us as word spreads through the hall.
A bell rings and I know we only have a few minutes before we are expected to walk, so i pull her into my arms again.
"We love you baby, this is just our next stage, lets go graduate and then we can show your parents the ring" she nods and I can see the tears in her eyes but I know its happiness and she kisses me before moving off to her place in the line up. Raven going with her as he will be last to walk and give his speech.
We made it through the walk, Raven's speech and out into the hall to join all our parents, Ma being the first to spot the ring on Viri's finger and soon we were off to celebrate, spending the weekend with a houseful of family who wanted to support and celebrate with us.
Gus and Pa had sat us down and asked the question we had agonised over, how would we legally wed her, we had explained one of us would legally marry her but we would all have a bonding ceremony for all of us. The question of who was settled by Raven had once again produced a hat with out names in it and asked our future father in law to pick.
"Grey" Gus said and I sat there speechless. Me, I was going to marry our girl.
"Thank you" I tell him, my voice cracking with emotion and he nods as my brothers clap me on the back in congratulations.
"Just promise you will look after her" he adds.
"Yes sir, always" I promise.
"That goes for all of you. I know how to make you disappear if you ever hurt her" he threatens with a smile on his face as we all promise him to look after her.
"You'd better go and tell her" he laughs waving us away as Pa pours him a drink and the settle in to chat.
