I had hired a new girl, gotten he trained, and was able to start leaving her alone to do small jobs on her own.

She'd been with me about two weeks at the time.

I had a Preacher and his family on my schedule for that day but was double booked with a move-out clean.

I left her with Preacher's wife and would be back in a few hours to pick her up. The Preacher's wife left her, unattended.

I didn't get a text from my cleaner when she was done. So I just decided to head over to my client's house to find out what's going on.

When I get there, she is gone. Nothing was put away such as the vacuum or cleaning supplies. She just left the job.

I finished the undone. Left and assumed that everything was in order.

In fact, I said a prayer in thanks to God for letting me get it done, they never knew what happened and I remained looking professional.

Shortly after I got back home my phone rang. It was the Preacher, he was extremely upset.

Apparently, his wife had left "booby traps" that my cleaner had stolen. He said that they had placed two five-dollar bills on their bedroom dresser, that were missing. She was also missing a gold necklace from her bathroom jewelry holder.

I was appalled. I explained what had happened on my end and agreed to come over the next day.

I paid for the necklace and gave them the 10 dollars as well. She offered to keep me on cleaning but I could never have any of my girls clean for them. Just me.

I helped them out annually around Fall for a few years and when the retired to our gambling oasis town, lost contact.
