The door swung open, crashing against the wall with such force that a few splinters of wood flew through the room. You wanted to cower in fear, cover your head with your arms until you saw who exactly stood there. In the opening stood none other than Jeff.
Your expression turned from afraid to confused. He wasn't the person you had expected. You were sure that walking pattern belonged to someone else. Maybe he was walking with that person? No, that couldn't be, you only heard one pair of footsteps.
Jeff walked in with a tray of food. Two simple slices of bread and some water. When he saw you standing there frozen in the middle of the room, he spoke:
"What are you doing?" It sounded like always. Irritated, angry and full of resentment. Your eyes only focused on the tray of food as you tried to bring your attention back to Jeff. You were looking if the door wasn't locked. Yeah just tell the truth and wait for the hit.
"I was going to the bathroom." You knew that he could sense your unease. That he somehow knew you were lying. But he didn't seem to care about it. He walked over to the side table, placing the tray of food there before grabbing a few weapons.
"Here" He grunted as he didn't look at you, being busy with collecting weapons for whatever he was going to do. His hobby, probably.
"Aren't you going to the bathroom? Not that I mind you standing there like that." He knew you were lying, you were absolutely sure of it. He could smell your racing heartbeat, but he didn't say anything about it. Why not? What was he planning?
You then took a look at the attire you were wearing and you knew what that last part of the sentence was about. You swallowed the lump in your throat as you realized that you were still standing in the middle of the room. You tried to shake any thought off, hoping that you could shove some food in your mouth.
But you didn't count on it.
"I'd rather eat first." You replied a little shakily, walking over to the tray of food and trying to avoid being in Jeff's line of sight as much as possible. He was still keeping a close eye on you, but once you had grabbed the tray and sat back in bed his attention was somewhere else.
You were watching him stuffing more and more weapons in the pockets of his with blood stained hoody and wondered why he needed more than just his knife. He never took any other weapons with him than his knife, heck, for all you knew he was married to that thing.
"I'll be off. If you even come close to this door I will cut off every single finger and feed them to you, understood?" You had begun to get used to these kinds of threats. Every time he would come up with some other way to torture you if you would try to get away, but that didn't keep you from nodding and obeying his order. He would lock the door anyway.

"Where are you going?" You asked. Of course you knew that he'd probably would be doing his hobby, but on the other hand he never ever used other weapons for that. Jeff only glared at you intensely, not liking the question at all.
"Didn't we just make an agreement that you would stop pestering me? Do I have to show you what happens when you break an agreement?" His aura had immediately changed, the dark cloud surrounding his head and then his whole body, engulfing him with something you couldn't place.
It gave you the shivers.
You shook your head quickly, mumbling a soft 'sorry'. But Jeff wasn't satisfied with this answer at all. You hadn't seen him this dangerous ever since the first days. You knew his mood changed fast, but this was just straight out monstrous.
"What was that?" He took a step closer to you and without thinking you shoved back on the bed a little. What in the world was this? What had gone over him so suddenly? You felt your heart pumping in a quick pace again as your gaze was focused on Jeff. His eyes were burning...
"No, I'm good." Jeff stopped in his tracks, eyeing you closely before turning around. He walked towards the door, grabbing the handle and giving you one more warning glance before he disappeared. The tingling sound of a key being inserted into the keyhole made you aware that he had locked the door.
You then released the breath you didn't know you were holding, wondering what had caused Jeff to become like this. He talked about the agreement as if you had made a pact with him. Maybe he doesn't like it when promises are broken? Those eyes... It gave you the chills.
Whatever it was, you hoped that you would never encounter this Jeff ever again.
You took a piece of bread in your hands, examining the food and determine whether it wasn't poisoned or anything like that. When you were sure that it was just a normal piece of bread you took a bite out of it. Even though you didn't get food in quite some time, you weren't hungry at all.
This time alone could give you some space to think, to form a plan and to gather all of your thoughts. You needed to make some sort of list, to place your thoughts in order. You were again starting with the things you knew for sure, hoping that it would lead you any further.
Lola was dead, you and Sandy are alive. Jeff doesn't trust you yet. Masky, Hoodie, E.J., Laughing Jack and BEN Drowned are the killers you know and are extremely dangerous. Slender is the leader. The box you had retrieved from your home is locked by a 6 digit code.
The rest is all uncertain.
You then remembered what Hoodie had said. They would give you a few days to think about the code. How many days have passed after that? Two? Three? You didn't know. It was always dark here, you had no clock or anything to figure out what time it could be.

For all you know they could be on their way to this room now. How in the world were you supposed to think of the code? It wasn't Lola's birth date, or her sister's for that matter. It would be too easy. But you didn't know anything about Lola or her father.
You certainly didn't know anything about the code.
You knew that Masky and Hoodie had tried special dates too. Or at least you had expected them to. The date the company had been opened, the date they had caught the Creepypasta... Or more personal dates like the wedding of Lola's father and mother etc. Your gut feeling told you that it wouldn't have been a date. Lola's father was a smart man; he wouldn't be that stupid to use something so simple such as a date.
How many times you have thought about it wasn't going to work either. You didn't know the code. It was as simple as that. They didn't really have anything in their home or around them locked with a code. Not a burglars alarm or a safe.
At least not a safe that you knew of. The small vault could also have been locked by some business codes, a password from a computer used by the company. That must probably be it. No father would be as stupid to endanger his whole family and give the code to his wife or daughters.
Maybe even Lola wouldn't have known the code. That was a logical explanation. She would probably try some things she had picked up from the company or some usual stuff like her birthday. Maybe something stupid like the code for the Ipad they had.
Chills had spread through your whole body once you were finished with thinking that last sentence. You literally felt the blood retreating from your face as your heart began to pump even faster. You had dropped the small piece of bread on the bed as your mouth still hung open. The code they had for the Ipad...
"They keep asking me about a 6 digit code, (Y/N). But I don't know what they mean. Do they mean the code of Lola's phone? Because those are just random numbers, she can tell that themselves."
Your mouth widened even more as you had recalled what Sandy had said. A six digit code, the code for Lola's phone are just some random numbers. They weren't just random numbers, even if she thought so too.
~~
Both of you were sitting on the couch of the living room. Lola was busy watching some lame chick flick whilst you suddenly grabbed her phone and wanted to play a game on it.
"Hey Lola, what's your code?" You asked her. This was normal for your group of friends. Everyone knew everyone's code of their phones, mostly because on a night out you would silently grab someone's phone and make awkward pictures with it. It would be a night to remember.
"Uh... It's 839006" She answered, her attention still on the screen as her hand grabbed some popcorn. You gave a soft snort as you gazed at the girl.
"Where did you get that code?" You smirked at her and this time she did look at you, shrugging before telling you:
"When I got my phone my father helped me installing apps on it. I didn't know how to set a password on my phone and then he did it. I didn't want it to be my birthday and I never changed it because I didn't know how and now I'm used to it." You nodded, opening candy crush and playing the game silently.
~~
You wanted to smack yourself for not thinking about this earlier, but it just didn't come to mind. You never knew it would be so extremely important. And even now you had no idea if it was indeed the right code but... Why would her father install such a strange code on her phone which actually makes no sense?
This has to be it; this has to be the code. You almost jumped up, nearly knocking over the plate with food. You knew the freaking code! You had to somehow contact Masky and Hoodie, because with this information, you had the upper hand.
They had done everything in order to crack this vault and now that you had the code, you could at least arrange something for your friends. Only the promise that they wouldn't be killed would be enough, but... would that be such a smart idea? Negotiating with killers...
Would that do you any good? There is a big chance that they wouldn't even keep to their promises or they would laugh at you, telling you that you're in no position to talk. Anyway you will figure something out; the most important thing now is that you have the code.
You were going to pay Masky and Hoodie a quick visit.

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
