I could not believe what I'm seeing right now. Kihyung's body slowly being untied from the lamp post. The medical team even had to pull out the nail that was attached on each side of his hand along with the plank. Kihyung is like a brother to me. He's my partner in crime and to see him died in this condition, shattered my heart. As soon his body is placed into the body bag, I got up and wipes away my tears. I need to find the killer immediately. Who could have been so heartless.
I called Mr Song about what happened and told him to not start the autopsy without me. I will be there. I want to be there with Kihyung till the very end. I let the chief of department call his parents to inform about his death. It may take a while for them to collect his body and do a funeral. "Send me all the photos immediately. I need to look at it." I told one of my team member and head back to the station.
Here I am sitting in Jungkook's office for lunch. This man never stop working even during lunch. Today's menu is simply stir fried ramyeon with spicy pork bulgogi. I eat in silence when suddenly there is a notification from my phone. I unlock my phone and go on Naver to check any latest news. Right now number one topic is about a death of a man in the most horrifying way. A photo of him is all around the naver and somehow I feel sick just by looking at it. I quickly exit the site and lock my phone back.
"Everything alright?" Jungkook ask as he take a sip on the cup of tea as he look at me. "Hmm another death happened awhile ago. I mean they found a body being tied up on the lamp post. The photo is kinda creeping me out." I said and he hold my hand, getting my attention. "You shouldn't be looking at such things during lunch. Especially when you're eating. Anyway lets change the topic." Jungkook let go of my hand and lean against his seat as he fix his gaze on me. "What happened to Hyuna? Was she at home when you return?" He asked and I shake my head. "Nope. She left I guess. All her things are gone." I replied without giving a single pity on that girl.

I mean she still have her parents and home. She can just go back there anytime. After we finished our lunch, Jungkook instructed me to follow him down to the design and marketing department. The file that Jungkook was holding, he throw it at the chief department. I flinched at that moment. "Redo this shit will you? Didn't I went through with all of you about the design during the meeting?" Jungkook's voice was a little too loud. I look down and not strong enough to look at the chief's face. "If you screw up one more time, you can dream about getting your promotion." And with that he walked away. I bowed to the chief slightly and followed Jungkook from behind.
Day goes on with Jungkook being all mad suddenly. Something triggered him and I don't even dare to ask. I got up from my seat and make my way to the washroom to wash my face. I am sleepy honestly. Two more hours till I go home. I look at my reflection and notice something. Rashes right on where my cross pendant is. Since when I am allergic to steel. I quickly take out the necklace and leave the washroom. I put the necklace in my bag and begin to apply soothing cream that I keep in my drawer in case of emergency like this.
The news about the death of the investigator spread like a wild fire. I texted the cult group and asked if any of them did it. Well it was Tae. He overheard the conversation between Kihyung and Sung Hoon about suspecting the cult. Kihyung seems to know more about our existence and he is better off dead than exposing more about us. That is the consequences. Know more about us and intend to expose it, you'll die.
My phone buzzed and it was a call from Namjoon hyung. Now that Jin hyung is away for a month, Namjoon hyung has been appointed as my right hand person. He kept me update about what is going on. "Jungkook ah, quick update. Sister Ye Jin who is Na Ra's adopted mother who is also a nun in the Glory Church is planning to invite Na Ra for dinner at the orphanage tonight. Listen, I need you to allow her go to this dinner. We need to see something." Namjoon said as I frowned and look at Na Ra who is busy doing her work. "Why should I?" I asked coldly.

"You do remember what Jin hyung said right? Once she drink the ritual drink, she will slowly have her belief fade. So tonight, you and I, we going to follow her silently and see if the drink is working. I mean, I've read a book and the signs that Na Ra been showing tells me that the drink is working." I raised my brows at Namjoon's explanation. Hyung has that unique intelligence. His IQ is the highest among the seven of us. Sometimes it is hard for me to figure out whatever he is saying or plans out.
"What signs?" I asked and Namjoon just sighed heavily. "Jungkook are you...distracted?" He asked and I roll my eyes. "No... well yes kinda. Work is insane. I need a break. I need to get my hand cover in blood and that will make me relax." I heard Namjoon let out a little chuckle. "She's on her period... go on." And I hang up on him. How is he the genius again?
My phone ring just as I finished my email. I quickly pick up and answer it. "Hello Na Ra my dear child." Sister Ye Jin is on the line and I'm fresh awake right now. "Sister..." I smiled and she let out a soft laughter. "How have you been dear? I miss you so much. Come down to the orphanage tonight and have dinner with us." I quickly accept the offer. "Sure I'll be there once I finish my work. Which is in about ten more minutes." Once our conversation ended, I decided to bun up my hair when Jungkook walks out of his office. "I'm going home. You should too." He said and I nod. I smile and quickly turn off my computer and grabbed my things.
"Let me send you home." He said and I shake my head politely declining his offer. "No it's okay. I'm going to have dinner with someone." I replied and yet he insisted. He drove me to the Grace Church and stopped in front at the main door. "A church?" He arched his brows and I nod my head. "Yeap there is an orphanage behind this church. I'm having dinner there." He didn't ask further and I thanked him for the ride.
Once he left, I walk up the stairs and immediately I feel my body heat rising up slowly. Funny how the wind is rustling yet I feel so hot. I walk to the back of the church and Sister Ye Jin is there to greet me. "Na Ra, how are you dearie?" She asked and I hugged her. However, I flinched immediately when I came contact with Sister Ye Jin. My mind seem distracted right now. I can't focus on Sister Ye Jin's words. There are whispering going on in my head and I can't help but to cover my ears. I hate it... I hate the voice. I can't help out but to scream.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
