《Protected by BTS》Chapter 23: J-Hooooope

You and Yoongi were on the roof of one of the old buildings near the track. It was the final race of the night and it seemed to be a big deal. Everyone else had also left the track entirely and were also in the designated spectator areas.
"Why's this race so special?" You asked Yoongi who was standing next to you. You guys were watching as Hoseok got into his car and Hanbin got into the car next to him. The whole track was empty besides their two cars, unlike when you first arrived.
"Well, J-Hope is a well known racer, especially since he's part of Bangtan, but he hasn't raced for a few months so I guess people are really stoked to see him. Hanbin is also pretty well known and has won a lot recently so that's why. There's a lot of bets placed on this race cause it's the final one of the night."
"What happens if J-Hope oppa loses?"
Yoongi only chuckled, "I don't think I've ever seen him lose unless it was intentionally. Don't worry, he'll be fine."
You frowned. "What's the matter?"
"I don't know, something just feels wrong." You admitted and bit your lip and continued to watch as the race was about to start.
"It's probably Hanbin. He always gives me a creepy vibe too, but don't worry about it. He's just a shady guy. J-Hope is a big boy and he'll win, just watch."
"J-Hooope!"
"J-Hope!"
"Ahhh! J-Hope Oppa!"
Series of girls screamed his name and Yoongi rolled his eyes. So many girls wanted him.
The gunshot fired into the air and Hoseok's car and Hanbin's car sped off. They were neck in neck the whole time, drifting around the corner and shifting gears every few seconds. The deafening sounds of the crowd watching didn't distract you as all you cared about was watching Hoseok.
They were nearing the last lap and the last corner when Hoseok's car started to fall behind Hanbin's. The crowd went wild at the new change and you could see how ecstatic Hanbin was from where you were standing,
It was the final stretch and Hanbin did his best to keep Hoseok from passing him. That is until Hoseok lightly bumped Hanbin's back bumper and he started to lose control of the car. Hoseok took advantage of this and sped past Hanbin in what seemed like a millisecond.

Hoseok passed the finish line and you couldn't help but jump and cheer for him. You smiled and Yoongi only looked at you scoffing, "What'd I tell you?" He said smiling his gummy smile and watched Hoseok jump out of his car to be greeted with the adoring crowd, money, and fame.
He was used to it but at the same time always loved it as if it was his first one. You watched as girls cling to his arms and some guys dapping him up and acting like they're best friends.
You and Yoongi were letting him have his moment.
Hanbin's car pulled up right behind Hoseok and Hanbin was not happy. As he started storming away from the scene with his entourage, you only smiled happily at the douchebag.
You returned your gaze towards Hoseok and the new crowd following him when in that exact moment, you couldn't see anything anymore.
The ringing in your ear was deafening with a 'pop' and 'crackle.'A puff of smoke and fire clouded the area. An explosion erupted and the fiery blazes burned your eyes to the point you had turned away. The smoke started to rise and you look towards the area of impact.
You looked to where Hoseok was and couldn't see a thing besides the fire and smoke. People ran about and screamed, causing you to be disoriented.
You were brought out of your disorientation when you looked towards Yoongi who was freaking out as well. "J-Hope!" Yoongi instinctively ran towards the scene and you followed not too far after.
Yoongi started running to the vicinity of where Hoseok was and you tried to run after him when you collided into a man amongst the chaos. You didn't care and stood up, trying to follow Yoongi but the man pulled you roughly back.
"hey!" You gasped and tried to fight him as best as you could when he dragged you to a corner, unseen by anyone. The man's face was covered by a mask and you look away, longing for Yoongi or J-Hope. You saw Yoongi running the opposite way, the direction of where you guys last saw Hoseok.
The anxiety attack started to build and you could barely focus on anything. Your gaze shifted in and out of focus and you tried to control your breathing.

He pushed you against the corner wall, muttering words which you couldn't make out. You were too disoriented. Even your attacker could see that you were not all there and slapped you out of it. The harsh strike to your check almost made you fall, but this man was literally holding you up against the wall.
"Long time, no see." The man said and the image of his face started to clarify in your vision.
"D-do I know you?"
He didn't seem shocked that you didn't know him so he ignored it. Instead, he pulled out a picture and shoved it in front of your face. You squinted your eyes in hopes for the image to clear.
A silent scream left your mouth as you finally grasped what the image was. It was a picture of your father. He looked as if he was beaten up and he was tied to chair; he was not even looking at the camera.
"You miss your appa?" The man smirked and you felt your blood boil. You spat at him and he grunted in disgust. He pulled your head back and made you slam into the wall with great force. You felt the wind knock out of you and whimpered at the pain pulsing behind your skull.
"Take this picture. There's an email on the back for you to contact us. I went through enough trouble to cause this distraction to give you this so don't even think about telling Bangtan." He gritted and spoke lowly in your ear.
"Distraction?" You didn't understand at first until he mentioned the boys, "The explosion! J-Hope! Oh my-"
The mysterious man threw you on the ground and you clutched the picture in your hand. "If I have the smallest feeling that you told Bangtan, I won't hesitate to torture your father even more. He'll be begging for me to kill him, in fact he already has! So if you don't want anything worse to happen to him, you'll listen to what I said. And I'll email instructions to that email. Hack into the account and there will be an email awaiting you. You can figure out how to hack into it, I know that." He smirked and shoved his hands into his pockets.
The man started to walk away and you examined the picture in your hand. Your father looked so desperate, he looked in so much pain that you started to tear up. The only thing that brought you out of your thoughts were the popping sounds of cars about to blow up.
You then remembered you had to find Hoseok and Yoongi. The picture was shoved inside your bra and you scrambled to stand up. The smoke, dust, and small fires everywhere continued to disorient you. The leftover people screaming and yelling were zoned out as you could only focus on the ones who looked like your oppas.
Miraculously, you noticed the bright green toyota supra that you guys had come in earlier. Yoongi was dragging a barely conscious Hoseok to the car and you ran towards them.
"MiSun-ah?! Thank god! Open the back door for him and help me, come on!" He said in a forceful and commanding tone. You opened the door and pull Hoseok to lay on you inside. Luckily, the leather seats were colored black however you could smell the metallic blood from his wounds. Hoseok laid his whole upper body on your torso as his leg was sprawled out in the next two seats.
Yoongi jumped into the front of the car and drove off at an alarming speed. "I'm calling Dr. Choi, MiSun-ah, please take care of him until we get there." He said in a calm voice but in reality he was losing it on the inside.
"HoSeok?" You pat his face lightly to see if he was conscious. "Hoseok?! Hoseok!"
